Chapter 575 "Anger without words" Discussion
-
-
@Fire Fist:
Hell, technically, he could have just raked his fingernails across Shanks' face.
fingernails leave 3 huge scras on his face…but knives and swords doesn`t do much on our main charas:blink:
thats how it goes...mighty fingernails!! -
A really boring week without chapter…
Does someine have an idea for a new thread which won't be moved or deleted? The old ones are going in circles.
-

thats how it goes...mighty fingernails!!Not nearly as brutal as Kaidou, though. Kaidou's gotta be a beast; from the stitches, it looks like he split Moria's neck wide open.

And while he was at it, he seems to have also taken Moria's chin (or possibly his whole lower jaw).

I say it was a pair of unusually sharp Brass Knuckles.
-
BB uses claw weapons like Meng Huo. (Dynasty Warriors)
That's why Shank's scar matches a claw-like wound.
No other weapons would be consistent with three parallel slashing marks.
That actually seems to be a very solid possibility. In all honesty, any type of gauntlet with even a swipe using even blunt metal ends on the knuckles can also leave such gashes so knives and blades are not always the only possibility.
-
It probably was a 3 blade claw weapon. BB's hand seem big enough to leave scars on Shanks entire face not just over his eye. Plus if he used his hand I'd assume there'd be four scars not three.
-
I say he tried to eat him….
But Shanks got out of the situation before it could happen…
…...
On second thought, nevermind.
-
That seems plausible.
-
Must be from BB's rings.
[hide]
[/hide]Lol @ the BB eating shanks drawing, its hilarious.

Hahaha, that's awesome.
-
really… I hope it went down that way.
Blackbeard is just the type of guy to try and eat his opponent.
He is a D after all
I gotta be a little more quiet when I laugh at work
-
@ysn:
He saw it written on a toast next to Jesus' face.
and why do you say this matter-of-factly?
Cause I think that Oda kept him out of the last chapters for this purpose. Croc also mentioned that he will kill him later.
There is laso his unrevealed past.
This is how it will work out I think. We will get some more battle chapters the time will come and WB will try to sink the HQ ,Croc will stabs him…and it over.Pretty obvious, he's stroking Crocodile's sandy dick.
Its called logic. Dumbass.
-
I'm sorry broski but with a signature like yours' it's only natural to think that you would like to suck Crocodile's sandy dick.
Characters say things all the time that will never happen. Whitebeard is miles ahead of Crocodile, he will never lay a finger on him. Ever.

"I have given me word not to lay a finger, or a hook, on Peter Pan."

How the hell do you even know this…? You are just making assumptions.
I say he is definitely one the right side. -
Weren't you the one that said that Thatch was alive and in BB's crew?!?
-
-
@Don:
i see your point..but still it remains that it would be weird, when it can simply be "trained-off" a weakness done by the devil!
i always saw eating a DF as something you can never chance and that you have to life with the effects…
so having a way(even when it`?s a small one) for fishm,an to chance the only negative effect for DFs would be lame in my eyes, but i have to admit oda could actually pull such a move to explain a future fishman-chara who uses his DF under the sea ^^Dragonball using high gravity training to provide yet another pseudo explanation for a powerup is one thing, but the DFs have a built-in downside to compensate for the great power they grant the one who eats them, to bypass that would be something else entirely, and very unlikely in my eyes.
Unlikely yes but not impissible. It could actually tie in nicely with the superior race talk that's been brought up with the Fishmen several times.
-
Weren't you the one that said that Thatch was alive and in BB's crew?!?
Yeah…I still do, he can be Stronger.
-

I say he is definitely one the right side.ahah yeah you're right who am I kidding I mean all sorts of curaaaaaaaaaaaaaizy stuff like that only happen in naruto
ps. why kill someone who is already dying?
-
The important condintion is having time to get used to it (which most humans don't have since they would drown). But if that shouldn't be an issue than it should be possible (which is why I think Fishman can eat DF's at not use lose their ability to swim).

I'm not really a fan of this idea. I like the fact that there's something as consistent as all DF users will become hammers while submerged in water.
Yeah…I still do, he can be Stronger.
At first I thought you were just joking with the fact that Edward Teach/Thatch was an alternate name for Blackbeard. But I've either lost touch with the nuances of trolling or you're not doing a very good job.

Well the Thatch thing is some kind of a serious joke. Its a joke but you cant prove that it wont happen.
@Vliegmans:ahah yeah you're right who am I kidding I mean all sorts of curaaaaaaaaaaaaaizy stuff like that only happen in naruto

To become the man who killed the No1 pirate of the era.
If WB will try to sink the f..ckin island..Croc could save his own life while taking WB's. -
No, that is really dumb, if the island is going to smithereens you should run for your life.

Another reason is revenge.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! THIS IS AWESOME!! :-D
-
You can slash with a fork.
You can slash with a trident.
You can slash with three knives between your fingers.
???
My god. Okay then.
The knives sure, which I said was possible but looked shitty, and Buggy already did it.
But tridents and forks pierce flesh, may even tear it after piercing, but will not leave tidy slashes. Unless the trident tips are blades themselves instead of just skewers, which a traditional trident or pitchfork wouldn't have.
I invite you to try and slash your face with a fork, and see what kind of wound it'll leave. If your not curious, do it anyway. Goodness.
Anyways retarded discussion aside it's pretty clear at this point that BB tried to eat him.
Awesome work Muda. I LOL'd.
-
that talk about shanks` scar reminds me that i was always sure about the fact that buggy was the one who gave him those..(cause of his 3 knives in one hand attack)
well, WB made that clear later:happy: -

To each his own I guess.
that clown couldn't slice through butter :ninja:
I'm with Muda Muda no Mi on this. BB tried to eat him

This. :'D Dang that's awesome. Now I want to see it in the manga!

@Al!naJames:
Lafitte's based on Yoko Kon, female japanese singer from the band Pinky & The Killers from late 60s, who dressed up as a man for their perfomances.
Yoko and her band made appearance in few movies, one of which had her in exact outfit Lafitte's wearing.I like to think that Laffite was based off of Alex DeLarge.
-
Hey did you guys know that the real blackbeard who sailed the seas in the 17th century alias was Edward Thatch…....my mind is blown
"Edward" is relevant b/c Edward Newgate (Whitebeard)
"Thatch" is relevant b/c Edward D Teach kills this whitebeard commander for the yami yami no miOda you give me chills
-
Yes, we did know.
Oda explained the whole thing in SBS vol 49, too.
Newgate is the name of the prison where Teach was once held, I belive.Whole Blackbeard crew is named after real pirates.
And
@Wonder:I like to think that Laffite was based off of Alex DeLarge.
no :wassat::wassat::wassat:
-
@Al!naJames:

I don't know that there's any evidence that Teach was ever in prison to begin with. Even then, it's unlikely that he would have been held at Newgate unless it was for something other than piracy as Marshalsea Prison was the usual destination for pirates.
-
Hahaha, why did I have a feeling you'd show up and say exactly that? XD
I'm not stating it's true, I've just red it once in some Russian book I belive. I mean, not that I need to make that up. Eh, I'm going to look like an imposter now xD Oh well~
-
@Al!naJames:

Except Doc Q, I think. SJW may or may not count.
-
I'll leave the word to Ubiq =D
He knows this better them me -
This post is deleted!

@S.C.:
And whether Joz is a Paramecia or Logia.
Flamingo could control him.He is propably paramecia like Mr1.

Ah, but he's solid. For all we know, Aokiji, Akainu, and Blackbeard or any other solid Logias can be dealt with the same thing.

Well I cant imagine a big diamond crashed into hundred of small pieces,and then reform,like it have been seen with confirmed solid logias(Akainu,Aokiji,Crocodile). but you never now.
-
@S.C.:
Except Doc Q, I think. SJW may or may not count.
Doc Q IMO based on James Ferguson.
Pirate doctor in Samuel Bellamy crew.
He known for his dangerous method of treating wounds.
Like cutting limbs, biting bullet, or steaming some wounds with hot iron.
James Ferguson killed by massive storm in 1717.Which Q in Doc Q names is the 17th letter of alphabet.
Just like the year that James Ferguson died.On San Juan cause maybe His surname referenced to San Juan Bautista, Puerto Rico's original name. Also, it could be referenced to the town of old San Juan in Puerto Rico, since it was a coastal stronghold filled with many ramparts to defend the island from pirates and rogue sailors, which may explain why his size is equal to one of Marineford's main buildings.
(I got SJW theory from OP wiki though). -
So which pirate is Shiryuu based off? or did everyone forget about him?
-
@AdmiralYonkouMt.Bandit:

Shiryuu's name could be a reference to real life Chinese pirate Zheng Zhilong which translated into Japanese is Tei Shiryuu.
From OP wiki.

I probably would've never caught that but that's just a name. If you look up Zheng Zhilong can't really say Shiryuu was based off of him when it comes to appearance.
I'm hoping confirms he's an avid Street Fighter fan.
Oh and by looking up Zheng it says his Western name was Nicholas Iquan Gaspard. Makes me wonder if Oda used that last name when he created General Gasparde from movie 4 (although the OP wikia says the name may be referenced from the pirate Gaspirilla).
-
@S.C.:
Except Doc Q, I think. SJW may or may not count.
Doc Q is probably named after Jack Quelch; at a guess, Oda went with Q simply because Quelch isn't the most Japanese friendly of names.
Shiryuu's name could be a reference to real life Chinese pirate Zheng Zhilong which translated into Japanese is Tei Shiryuu.
He's also known as Nicholas Gaspard.
@AdmiralYonkouMt.Bandit:
(although the OP wikia says the name may be referenced from the pirate Gaspirilla).
The wiki says a lot of things. Among others it puts forward the notion that Basco Shot is either named after tabasco or Vasco de Gama rather than Michel de Basco, a colleague of Zoro's namesake Francis l'Olonnais.
