If nothing else i'd like to see his and Nami's interaction on fishman island. It would weave nicely into the story since i'm sure Nami will be faced with the reality that Arlong and his crew were themselves treated as bad or probably even worse than she was. And having Jimbei play that role doesnt seem as right.

Once they'll get to fishman island it'll be revealed by his teacher that Hatchan is not only a fishman karate user but better fit for it as well. But he had forgotten all about it in one of his trademark derp moments:ninja:

Other than that, I totally agree that his personality meshes with the crew really well, and it would/will be fun to have him involved more.

Yeah he does have those Strawhatty qualities doesnt he. He's the fishman equivilent of Brook's whackiness.

As for this speculation about her being the key to his plans…..I think not. After all the prisoners are most likely reserved for strength purposed alone.

Well it could be Margaret instead (I was actually rooting for her to join when she was first introduced). I was just thinking of someone who would fit the "Grandma" type role.

I doubt it, i cant see them going through all that for a mere power up to an already godlike crew.

Personaly i think all those three have something that's vital to his cause. Battleship of course being speculated as the ship that they'll need in the new world (no offense intended towards the pimpin raft) and Devon as a link of information betwenn the new and old generation. Just cant figure out a decent guess for what the fishman looking guy is needed for.

but to hancock some thoughts:
-i cant see how she will overcome her love-illness..older nyon already said that she had to leave the island to overcome this illness…so hancock maybe has to do this also..(seeing that the other kuja-princesses died cause they didnt do)
her sisters could overtake boa`s position.

-she will maybe\maybe not be seen as a traitor by the WG.
iam not sure if they rly think that she was helping luffy cause the marines also thought luffy would use some special trick to get past her..also she seems to be so untouchable that the marines would have a hard time to explain her betrayal..
on the other hand they aren`t stupid and they should be able to see that after her visit the tumult in ID happened and also smoker will say that she was fighting against him for no other reason

mhh in the last few weeks i rly think that oda dont has anymore so many strict rules..she could also join with the ambition to get luffy as her husband but in the end it will be a running gag that she is always to shy.. but here i see a big problem..i dont think that would actually fit to the SH-crew so for my opinion i see here no hope that she will join..
also when she doesnt chance her character, she wont be able to exept someone like sanji(but well that would actually be funny hehe) but she would always be to narcsistic...here luffy has maybe some influence in chancing this, cause she knows that he loves his nakama..

when we visit with the SHs maryjoa it could get an update with her past and that would be the point she will chance (close to robin)--but than again a minus-point cause a second robin...idk

-having an ex-shichibukai on board..i dont know..i always liked that the SH arent overpowered..luffy and zoro are damn strong..than close behind sanji..and the rest is just loyal and tricky ..was always cool.
with hancock they would have someone on board..idk she is toooo powerful...50% of the villains in the future would be to easy for her to take out...so would be sure a lot of situation where we readers would just think
"well, when now boa wouldnt be trapped this arc\or this villain would be defeated always..*meh*" i dont want that to happen..

-her DF is to powerful..is close to the point above, but it would be the 5th DF out of 10 SH...ehhm a bit to much...but thats my opinion
i would more prefer a new race in the crew like a fishman,mermaid,long-arm tribe-giant(well sunny maybe to small for that)..but yeah just my opinion!

That giant in the background (ID) is probably equal in size to that behemoths (BB nakama) right testicle.

Joking aside, when you compare the marine battle ships to both marine HQ and Impel Down, you'll get a rough idea of the two sizes. Then take into account the size increase below the water.

Thank god Sogeking was handcuffed to Zoro at Enies Lobby… Jinbei would have volunteered to gladly cut off his hand just as he offers up his life all the damn time. He's badass but he's got that one thing going against him for being a character I'd like to see more of.

I think Jinbei might have seriously injured his arm trying to block Akainus attack from hitting Luffy. Based off of how much damage Akainu just caused to Whitebeards face I really can't see Jinbei catching that blast of lava with his bare and not being ruined. If you look at what Jinbei strongest attacks were during the Impel Down escape he has to use two hands to throw those large water spires.

I think a one armed Jinbei would be a good addition to the crew. Especially if he doesn't lose the arm outright and can slowly recover and get back to his original strength while the rest of the Strawhats get stronger overall. It would also kinda look look cool with his motif having one shirt arm pinned up.

and weve seen diff in power of the shib themeselves i think Hancock and jimbei arent to overpowered compared to Kuma or mihawk

Well, yes and no. I mean, I agree it wouldn't be forced at that moment in time, but I think it would be out of place. That is to say, I can imagine a scene like that playing a role in the whole backstory, but I would imagine the actual flashback to occur during the final moments of Fishman Island like most flashbacks do. Oda usually uses the tension of the arc to complement the sad backstory and create a stronger connection with the character. Anyway, I expect a few more hints and tidbits about their past before this all goes down, as well as mentions of Fisher Tiger, but how it all happens…?

People are always bringing this up, but really, he has only mentioned it a few times, and at relevant moments in the plot. It's not like he is just whining about it all the time, he's just determined to do all he can, even if that means giving up his life for it. I mean, did Luffy not do and say the same thing multiple times this ~~arc~~ saga? Or many, many other characters about their ambitions over the course of the story?

Aauron from Final Fantasy X + Jinbei would probably be one of the best looking character designs. Limp arm tucked into his shirt with the arm buttoned up. We've seen that Jinbei looks like fun at the "party scene" because of the prison break colour spread so I think disabling that arm would really take care of the strongest argument against him, his strength.

His desire to seeks justice would be a nice addition to the crews dreams as we don't have anyone yet that really wants to change the world. (Revenge on Akainu also being a big motivator) Of course I also find myself agreeing with everyone who is saying his desire to sacrifice himself might not pay off for him.

If the NW has that many stronger opponents and suddenly henchmen are going to be as strong as pacifista I see no reason why Oda can't just add new characters that are monster trio level to the crew.

The NW having stronger opponents really isn't a reason for why a shichibukai(s) should join.

I think they're all in the same tier of strength/power. Hancock as of the moment is the strongest female in the OPverse.

The fact that other ppl notice shows he's said it enough especially for a new character. It's like his catch phrase.

Luffy has began to say this over time regarding his nakama and it isn't a stretch when he says it about his own brother. I recall him saying to Iva something like if his brother dies he might as well too. I can guarantee Luffy isn't going to kill himself after regaining consciousness. May be more reckless when fighting marines but definitely not gonna kill himself over it.

Jimbei actually doing what he keeps saying "at relevant times" wouldn't surprise me at all.

Same for Zoro. That's the main difference. Zoro saying that about Luffy(and Sanji offering his life as well) shows the stark difference when it comes to Jimbei. Zoro specifically said he'd kill Luffy if he got in the way of his dreams. Now he's ready to give his life up for him with his dream is more important talk.

Jimbei might have that same relationship with WB but he talks like he's indebted for life to the man for something he was not able to do himself. Makes me wonder why he even became a shichibukai to begin with.
