Honestly I kinda hope it isn't continued in any way. Even if Miura left detailed notes and whatnot, it still wouldn't be the same.

Would love to see a continuation as well but I hope they change the medium, make some light novels or finally a good anime adaptation starting from chapter 1 or so.
If they choose to continue it in manga I’m not sure they, his assistants, can live up to his legacy and might feel like they are put under pressure.
-
Well, Muira's final chapter has a clean break at the end of the volume. So maybe have the studio name on it from here on out to make it extra clear its different.

I agree, call it "Berserk: The Legend Continues" or whatever and just publish it under the Studio's name. It deserves to be finished in one way or another and I will buy any new content regardless.

Worst part of this tragedy is, after a decade we could see that the story was taking a sharp turn and Miura started to tie up the loose ends. It's now clear that Miura set Elfhelm as a pivotal arc for many facet of the story. I want to see it ends properly, but I have zero doubt that unless Miura left substantial notes, it would be nowhere near as alluring a story as Miura did. Surprisingly, I think art will be the closest thing to the original.
-
That's a sweet chapter for a final one.
-
Yeah I am with those wanting it to continue, provided they have the big plot points outlined.

Just finished the final chapter of Berserk (RIP, Miura) and I have… thoughts. But I wouldn't dare spoil this for anyone. So, multiple tags.
! >! >! Holy. Absolute goddamn.
If this is the final chapter - even if it's just the final chapter drawn by Miura - what a thing to end on.
Guts and Casca seeing Griffith for the first time in months/years, and he's not gloating, he's not explaining his plan, he's not bringing about Apocalypse #5… he's crying.
Everything about Griffith's journey is about pursuing his dream, as if it meant one man's true happiness, shielding himself from "weaknesses/feelings" by getting away from people. And now that he has "conquered" everything, he only feels emptiness, space once occupied by those who, insistently, he saw as smaller than his dream. And were they really smaller? Earlier he had realized that Guts would have become bigger than his dream but "corrected" that feat with the eclipse. Or so he imagined... Moonlight Boy is like a karma to Griffith, unearthing the feelings he had buried, making him deal with "his weaknesses" once more. If this is an "end", then Griffith lost once more, he was defeated.
! I always thought it wouldn't be as simple as Guts just going up and cleaving the guy in half, no matter how much he deserved it, that while we were clearly going to get a giant final army battle, but that at the end of the day it wouldn't be so cut and dry. No matter how evil he is, how completely unforgivable, how much he gave up any right to be sympathetic after he CHOSE the eclipse.
! Whatever we expected and hoped for, we were likely never to have Guts going around slaughtering the godhand one by one until the final showdown because that would take decades to tell properly. I always assumed it'd be they team up and mess with the heart of darkness, and Griffith dies in an unexpected way to make up for things a little.
! And it looks like maybe that would have been the path. Possibly a simpler, more personal, ending than folks might expect, but one Muira could have actually done with just a few more years... if only he'd had them.
! God damn, Miura, I miss you so much. You deserved the chance to see this out, but this is a wonderful last gift. -

Yep. That was definitely a high note to go out on.
I just hope we get an answer soon on whether there's going to be any sort of continuation or not. Whatever the case, I'll be forever grateful for everything we have gotten.

^That link is skipping pages, at least it only shows 13 for me. Here's the full chapter:
Thanks a bunch ! I had only read the short version and was confused by the weird pacing. I had put it on account of Myura's passing, but this is a lot better. A sad sweet note to end the series, after this I'm fine if whoever eventually picks it up chooses to focus on other aspects of the Berserk world. Or if it doesn't get picked up at all.

Well damn.
I had the same problem. If you're on the phone try different wi-fi options or using mobile data instead.
-
maaaaaan, what a bang of a chapter! Really hoping Miura's Editor and crew come together to spray some light in possible outcomes (if Miura had any planned, that is) so we can at least know how what could have been…
def envious of the timeline where this happened.
-
This arc was going to be the best since Golden Age(not that other arcs were of inferior qualities) and it is quite clear that Miura prepared for it for a long time.Whether Berserk continues or not,it will always hurt….........
-
What a chapter. Like every Berserk chapter, the art was gorgeous. Still cannot believe we will never see new drawings/chapters by Miura. May he rest is peace
-
As I expected, the last chapter shows to me it' s great thing Berserk ends while maintaining it's greatness. Drawing in terms of quality seem no different from what I'd expect from usual, but everything beyond that surface seems to fall apart to me. It's just a shell without the spirit.
-
I couldn’t disagree more, the levity of the elf island has been so therapeutic, both for the characters and for me, as a reader. It’s tragic that the author won’t have the chance to finish his story, but this was a wonderful chapter to end on. Bittersweet, and though I do wish for closure to Guts’s, Casca’s, and Griffith’s story, I can at least begin to see how it was being set up for a really heartfelt and heart wrenching conclusion.

Here is my brief summary of mangakas' messages to Kentarou Miura in Young Animal magazine.
Miura told Shizuya Wazarai in 2021 that he was making a final push toward the ending of Berserk.
Miura was planning to go on a round-the-world trip with Kouji Mori (mangaka) after he finished Berserk. They have been good friends for 40 years. They talked via phone, like once every 10 days until recently.
After retirement, Miura was planning to live with Mori and Mori's wife in Okinawa or Izu, both of which are known for seaside resorts in Japan.
Mori said he would have died or been in prison without Miura…
Miura and Mori gave advice about their manga with each other.
Miura insisted that Mori should draw a biography manga about their friendship.
Mori has announced in this latest Young Animal that he will fulfill this promise about the biography in the future.
Mori spent a lot of time living with Miura's family when they were in high school. He added that he might elaborate on it some day.
Miura said the title of the biography should be "M K" since both of them share the same first and last initial.
On top of that, Miura asked someone else to write a biography "novel" about them.
Mori says it must have been impossible for Miura to know he would pass away in the near future because he had been totally fine with his health.
Despite his good health, Miura talked about the biography plan more frequently than before. Mori has been wondering the reason until now..
Mori feels like Miura is staying by his side even now. Miura's mother told him that it is because they had been together for a long time.
Mori: Thank you, Miura. I'll always be with you.
Miura told Nico Nicholson: I hope each panel of my manga will be like a window through which my audience can see another world.
Miura's author comment went viral years ago; "I'm planning to cancel my mobile phone contract since nobody gets in touch with me."
After that, Takashi Hoshi and Miura started sending emails to each other. They sometimes visited a cafe and spa in Tokyo together.
10 years ago, Miura and Katsu Aki talked about whether manga industries would get surpassed by games or videos.
Chika Umino: Every time I met Miura, he gave me sweets as a gift. He was always smiling and I've never seen his grumpy face. Next time we meet, I'd like to talk a lot about manga.
-
You're projecting. Muira still wrote this chapter.
Sorry to break it to you, but you haven't awakened telepathy skills yet. Art isn't about execution of points in a script.

You don't like present arc?

You don't like present arc?
Berserk is one of my favourites for sure, and this arc is no worse than other arcs either. Other than the building up suspense on where the story was leading towards. I had feeling that with Guts was starting to get over Grifith and getting ready to diverge onto a new path, with Casca healed and all. I was worried the story would lose the edge and become dilluted, in future. So in my eyes this was gonna be challenging path for Miura for continuing Berserk story.
That's why I much prefer Berserk ending while it's still greatest, over it being continued by remaining team. Because the other option is a clear cut downhill slope.
-
Whenever would come couldn’t have been worse than the boat arc or parts of Gut’s flashback.

Here is a spoiler summary of Miura's video interview in Berserk Expo this month.
I was hoping Miura and Oda would have a talk since they both said they couldn't help drawing in detail and jokingly described such a habit as illness. They hope(d) for a round-the-world trip after serialization..
! The story of Berserk is 60-80% done.
! Miura started wrapping up the story toward the end.
! Guts will enter the fight against Griffith, but it will not be settled with only one opportunity, implying they will fight multiple times.
! Guts has been spending his journey with comrades such as Schierke and Farnese etc, but such a journey will be over after the Elfhelm arc. (*Maybe they'll split up and go to separate places for some reason..)
! Berserk will enter a "surprising" new phase that will be told along with the story about Skull Knight.
! Miura said all of his audience were like comrades. -

It is back. While the art took a hit, I am extremely happy to see it getting a proper ending and so far Mori and co. are doing super job.
-
For it not being Miura himself, the art is still fabulous.
-
I am also very pleased so far with the continuation. Plus with a consistent release schedule so far.
-
Completely forgot it was coming back and read the new chapters, very happy to have it back.
-
Wait what, it continues? Gotta checknout asap!
-
I think this is the ultimate "Aw, hell no" chapter:

What in the world just happened? O.o
-
@Ivotas Pain and genocide, it's basically Svtfoe final again.
-
The art is technically good, but lacks a bit of emotion imo

Understandably so. Throughout the entire chapter I thought, damn they really are doing a good job in trying to be as close as possible to Miura's artwork. But it's not quite there. Still, that's not a complaint for obvious reasons. Just an observation.
If we actually manage to get the story told that Miura wanted to tell, then I'd be super happy. The art not being quite there is a price I'm willing to pay.
-
It will never be quite the art if it's not Miura, but I'll take as close as we can get.
-
For me art is not obviously at Miura's level, but it doesn't lack emotion.
-
Well, these are supposed to be official manga-ka, so I would hope they could do that much.
-
I think this new chapter (369) was pretty great, in terms of art and everything.
It felt very "Miuraish" to me. -

Star vs The Forces of Evil
Never heard of that. Gonna look it up? Thanks for the clarification.^^
