But.. "queer"?
16 characters of no thanks!
i wanna see this episode right now :(
any stream :D?
Is that really the title?
I was surprised. It wasn't even okama. The word used, shiyuu (雌雄 instead of オカマ), was much more literal, I guess, and closer to hermaphrodite than crossdresser.
have to wait for funimation version on youtube xD
Hoping to see a good animation episode.
It's kicking fairly lag free on keyhole right now.
Haha queer.
Lol.
Ohhh, that naughty Mr. 2.
Tonight episode was only like half of the chapter.
geez what a borefest
Tonight episode was only like half of the chapter.
indeed , just 10 pages of chapter 535
Huh, I can't seem to find the preview video on Fuji's site…was it removed?
I couldn't watch the episode, but my friends are saying that they censured this part right here!
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/535/11/
Is that Right?
No, they did show Luffy covered by poison at the end.
Oh, thanks! I'm relieved now! Was it as good as the manga?
omg, magellan is logia in anime D:
You mean those poison splotches? That's just the poison on Luffy's arms being left on Magellan's suit after he hits. And we know that he can exude poison, so it makes sense that he can absorb it too. Mr. 3's done the same in the past, I believe. If Magellan were a Logia, he wouldn't be forced back like that when getting hit, the blow would just go through him..
Magellan logia = Epic Anime Fail
Unless the anime shows a part of Magellan's body missing, there's no reason to assume it's portraying him as a logia.
Too slow and too many still-screens, other than that it was awesome.
Wait, where/when/how?
go to 5:26
you see it? when hydra returns…

oh right, so lets cut luffy's arm :getlost: (maybe robin )
anime fail

Uh… err... what? What does that have to do with Magellan?

Have fun
Watched the simulcast, so now it's commentary time. First off, lol FUNi censorship.
Let's see, very good artwork here, and some very neat effects during the Luffy vs. Magellan fight, like Luffy blasting steam, Magellan re-absorbing Hydra, Doku Gumo, and the distortion effect with the Bowser-esque laugh. This will certainly be fun to watch in HD.
Content-wise, I liked the filler, and how Luffy trying to use the Fuusen to eliminate the cloud back from Amazon Lily filler backfired spectacularly. Also cool seeing Magellan actually use Luffy's outstretched arm to slam him to the ground, though that did run into the ''blunt force trauma'' inconsistency that's plagued the series since day one. And seeing Mr. 2 start fighting Hannyabal was a nice treat too, and I was amused that he stole a Sanji-related BGM during that part. And on the topic of music, I liked how they had that triumphant ''Musshul vs. Luffy - Conclusion'' Movie 9 tune swell at the end and then suddenly cut off when the Hydra swallowed Luffy.
This really covered only eleven pages? Heh, well, they did a good job with it.

I agree. The music at the end was fantastic.
wait, what was censored by funi?
wait, what was censored by funi?
The first part of the episode title. What I put up is what the Japanese translates to, FUNi has ''The Showdown has Come!'', which is completely different. They didn't want to put the ''queer'' part up there.

Agreed, I'm very impressed they were able to make such a good episode out of 10 pages. There were some problems with the episode as you mention with inconsistency of fruit powers, including some stuff that felt awkward about Magellan's abilities as well. They're pretty minor gripes, honestly, and really have no bearing on the overall storyboard of an episode that spans only 10 pages.
The stuff with Bon Kurei was well done, the canon stuff was played out nicely, the filler scenes were all appropriate to the fight/episode, and the BGM all seemed to work well. I particularly liked the foreshadowing of the conclusion of Bon vs Hannyabal. What they showed and where they stopped the scene just seemed like good scripting to me. In my eyes, this was the best episode of the arc so far.

I agree with all of this. It was nice to see Hannyabal fight as well.
This was a good episode. But in my opinion, the best episode so far is the one in the Beast Hell with the noodle Sphinx. A satisfactory blend of humor, pacing, and animation.
So this episode was 10.5 pages of chapter 535. God damn!
Goddamn, horrible pacing. EVERYTHING moves at slow motion. Impel Down has been awful on this aspect…
Fantastic episode. Luffy/Magellan was very good.
@DEE:
ripped funi ep on random website
No funi rips allowed here, so you should probably remove it.

Let me guess, You saw it on that link i posted tho
Thats Toei animation's ep. and gogoanime is the best site on the net. I mean, First ones that uploads Eps with english subs,
anyway, I removed it :getlost:
I loved Mr 3 and his threats to bit off his tongue! lol
Lol.. i just read the english chapter of 535 today .
guess next week is last of 535 and 536
meaning
! Frozen level 5 next week!
Besides being generally slow, I thought this was a pretty good ep.
Magellan is not a logia, he's a paramecia, how are people still arguing over this?
Luffy hit him several times.
If they only did 1/2 a chapter this week, maybe we'll get 1 1/2 chapters next week. Freezing Hell Yay!
Can't help but say that this is an overall good episode,
as compared to the previous one.
Even tho its only 10 pages..we should be proud of how toei
handles it, it was so amazing.
Can't wait for the upcoming episodes.

My sentiments exactly. I'm very satisfied with this episode. The Magellan- Luffy fight made me say "that's some awesome shit right there." Definitely my favorite episode in the Impel Down arc so far. The artwork, animation, direction - this episode was very well done.
The bits that I really enjoyed was the Magellan - Luffy fight (as mentioned), Mr. 3's threat to bite his tongue off (made me ROFL), and the Bon Clay - Hannyabal filler fight.
I loved the pacing for this episode (Even though they covered just 11.5 pages). lol
It's just made the episode more intense for me, and seeing Luffy losing each of his senses slowly gave me chills.
Eye Candy, Eye Candy, Eye Candy….Is my favorite candy. Seriously, Shigefumi rocked this episode. I wasn't expecting that art quality from him. And the animation was overall great, with awesome scenes here and there.
Seriously, it's been a while since I had this feeling of enjoyment and satisfaction inside me after watching an episode. Fucking loved it. 10/10.
Magellan was Epic in this episode, and so was Luffy.
Next week looks awesome as well, and it will be 1.5 chapters [29 pages].
Yeah, this was very good. It may only have covered half a chapter, but instead of long cuts to random unrelated bullshit (see: Dragonball Z), endless staredonwns between each thrown punch (see: Dragonball Z), drawn-out sequences of people trading punches between their actual canon actions (see: Dragonball Z) or flashbacks (see: Drag… I mean, Naruto), we got actual well-paced scenes of Luffy being more or less killed before us, with excellent acting accentuating the fact. THIS is the type of material worth spending some extra time on.
nice ep, but not the best of ID.
and it will be 1.5 chapters [29 pages].
How did you know?
How did you know?
They will obviously cover the rest of 535 [12-19]. And the preview shows scenes from latter pages of chapter 536. And they obviously brought Katsumi because of the second half of chapter 536.
Plus not to forget the title of the episode, which indicate so.
BTW, Actually they covered 11.5 in today's episode.
Are you counting the title page as a covered page? Because I don't remember seeing Brook lift weights in this episode.
okay, then 10.5 :P
