yep that one is the one.
This show is awesome. Is that Conan super hero an honest to goodness actual character in the series and not just a special something for the Conan show?

It's not obvious that it's not an actual character? Shouldn't the ever-steaming oven-mitt be a dead giveaway?
Conan is in the show in spirit
ha i love the steaming oven mitt. but no he is not real, he is subbed in supermans spot in both instances
btw whats the huge thing in his left hand?

Color me disappointed
Haha Flaming C. If only Conan's alter ego were a real JLA member…..

It's a hailai glove.
Or however the fuck you spell that.
Jai alai actually.
Young Justice would likely get sued by the owners of The Flaming Carrot if they tried to using Flaming C in a real episode.
On an unrelated note, B:TATB should have done a Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew episode.
The best part about the flaming C clips is just Conan's reaction. He's crazy excited about it, thinks its the coolest thing ever, and then notes "I have absolutely no idea at all what's going on in that cartoon."
Just saw the newest episode, and it was pretty good. I liked Wally's development and looks like him and artemis are a lock now. Also liked how Robin was gone for the episode, it shows that the group still has there side-kick lives going on plus it gives room to develop the rest of the group.
One thing I didn't get was how Kent apparently said he wasn't "ascending" yet, but then looks pretty dead when Wally gets out of the Helmet…Am I missing something?

Spirit trapped in the helmet. His is.
I wonder if Wally will put on the Fate helm again? Maybe for the season finale, when they fight a villain, like Deathstroke? It'd be cool.
As awesome as Deathstroke is, I have to imagine this show would want to dodge him, given how prominent a villain he was in Teen Titans.
And also, you can't call him Deathstroke in a cartoon series, apparently.
They're using the entire DCU, they have access to plenty of other villains. I can't wait to see what they do with Ra's al Ghul.
So I'm assuming this show is in the same level of awesome as BTAS and JLU, is that right?
Pretty much, it hasn't disappointed yet and the writers have a clear direction in terms of storytelling, so there is definitely a plan which will make the show better before the end of the season.
@Thousand:

It's not bad, but I would never say that it's at that level. Not even close.
It does have potential, though.

To be fair, they weren't at that level when they were at single digits episodes.
Early JLU was better than early Young Justice.
I'm not saying that it's bad or anything, but it really isn't on the same level, even its early level.
But even then, JLU had all of Justice League before it, and that didn't really pick up until the second season.

Early JLU had 14 years of BTAS, Batman & Robin, Superman, Batman Beyond, Zeta Project, Static Shock, and JL behind it. They'd had a few hundred episodes to build the universe and get the hang of what they were doing. Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and Kevin Conroy had a fair amount of time to get the hang of things. Even if you don't count those, JLU was still the direct immediate follow up to the 26 episode JL.
This universe just started from scratch 6 episodes ago. It'll get better and grow.
I'll place it above "Batman in my Basement" from season 1 BTAS any day. Or ANY episode of "The Batman".
How can anyone hate on Young Justice already and say its sub-par, if anything it has overachieved in a lot of areas I didn't expect it to, such as the league's involvement; and superman being a deadbeat dad.

See the funny thing is, other people might have different expectations than you. If you look at it that way, you can see how people might see it as sub-par. I don't think anyone has mention that they hated it.
Young Justice is alright, in my opinion. Its good enough for me to watch it each week, but I can see my self falling out of it easily. I personally think its trying to hard to create drama among the group, and lot of the members of the group are a little one dimensional; not that we've really had too much time to grow.

This.
The two main villains in JLU, Luthor & Darkseid, got the majority of their characterisation from Superman TAS. "Destroyer" wouldn't have been as good a conclusion without "Apokolips…now!" and "Legacy" behind it.
Okay, I'm in the middle of watching episode 2, but I MUST make this important analysis:
[hide]Holy crap is that Blockbuster guy still wearing his old skin?
Also, you know how I'm a fanboy for Batman:TAS even after a decade and a half (thereabouts)?
You know the kids watching this show? Like, right now?
Fifteen years from now, they'll be online comparing this show to whatever's on in the future.[/hide]

Only if this show lasts more than two seasons.
It's got the Weisman curse/blessing on it, after all.

The Weisman saywhanow?
EDIT: Oh, by the way, there was no episode this week. New episode will air next Friday.
He's made fantastic shows that were cut off before their time (gargoyles & spectacular spider man).
As someone who didn't see Batman TAS as a kid (and still hasn't finished it), after seeing the first few episodes a couple of months ago, I can ASSURE you YJ is as good as, or slightly better than, the first few episodes of BTAS. Though btas' intro blows yj's out of the water.
everyone looked like they were moving under water, the animation was so sluggish lol. Then I watched Justice League and it was like WHOA

Every series Greg Weisman (the showrunner for YJ) has been the head guy on has been cancelled without reaching a third season.
Gargoyles, Max Steel, W.I.T.C.H., Spectacular Spiderman, Starship Troopers (which ended five episodes short of the series finale)
He's written episodes for other shows that have run longer but, nothing he's been the lead on has gone past 2 seasons.
So having him on board is kind of a blessing and a curse. Blessed with quality, cursed with second season cancellation. Actually, since Gargoyles hit 65 episodes you could make some arguments, but… 52 of those were done in one year.

To be honest, although I can't say that I hate Young Justice so far, but compared to those two other projects Greg Weisman helmed (Spidey and Gargoyles) I still think YJ is my least favorite of the three…that is, I find even the first 7-8 episodes of Gargoyles and Spidey more enjoyable than YJ (which speaks more to the strength of those two, actually). I know, I know, YJ seems more of a slow starter, and like you said it has to build its own universe first, I think we will have to wait quite a while, at least until 2nd season perhaps, for it to finally hit its stride.
Despite all that, I do believe that this one actually has the best chances to pass the Weisman curse. Perhaps I'm too attached with the gods of irony, for me I got the feeling that the least favorite of the three will turn out to be the one with the most longevity. I mean, it seems the execs behind him fully trust and behind him 100%, and won't do unnecessary stuff either. Well, it's just a gut feeling of mine, let's hope it won't jinx it...

You were probably watching them in correct production order rather than the order they aired in. Watching them as they came out has a very different effect on people.
Since Young Justice has aired seven episodes, let's look at the first seven episodes of B:TAS to air.
The Cat and the Claw, part 1
On Leather Wings
Heart of Ice
Feat of Clay, part 1
Feat of Clay, part 2
It's Never Too Late.
Joker's Favor
That's one hell of a lineup from the third episode on.
everyone looked like they were moving under water, the animation was so sluggish lol. Then I watched Justice League and it was like WHOA
The Justice League wasn't a syndicated show though and could afford to spend more time on animation.

I agree. But hey, its been way better than the first 7 episodes of Max Steel, W.I.T.C.H., and Starship Troopers.
I think the biggest problem here is mostly that we have the fantastic Dini/Timm/Burnett decade for comparison, not to mention Teen Titans as well, so there's already been REALLY GOOD incredibly DEFINITIVE versions of the show, so its stacked up against some really tough competition.
Gargoyles was its own thing from scratch, and Spidey didn't have any previous series that could really compete with it in terms of quality. (The 90's series wasn't all that great, it'd been years and years since even it was on, no one remember the show that came right after it, the MTV show came and went, and the stuff from the 70's was… the stuff from the 70's.)
We've been blessed with almost two decades of top quality DCU animation, with tons of tv series and direct to dvd movies and well, Kevin Conroy has been Batman for practically our entire lives, so its harder for things to stack up, no matter how good they are. Its kinda like the Pixar curse.
If this was the first time we'd ever seen the DCU animated in 15 years we'd be completely blown away. Instead we're just sort of "Yeah, this is good quality. Par for the course. Keep it coming WB."
But yeah, Young Justice needs a better opening intro. The one they have is incredibly non-memorable.
You were probably watching them in correct production order rather than the order they aired in. Watching them as they came out has a very different effect on people.
whatever order was on the dvds
The Justice League wasn't a syndicated show though and could afford to spend more time on animation.
its not that though, batman itself grew in quality as episodes went on. it's something that happens in all animated shows as the animation becomes more experienced with the characters and story
Trying to watch the first couple episodes of Futurama or Kim Possible compared to the later episodes is really weird, not just because the voices or the character interpretations change, but just because of how things got snappier and paced differently. The earlier episodes are really sluggish in comparison, even though on their own they're probably fine.
Batman is much th same. (The very first episode they send a LOT of time showcasing the Batmobile, for instance… but I suppose thats just a case of it being the first...)

Wait. So him and his curse are the reason there's no more Spectacular Spider-Man?
…:cwy: Damn you and you Spectacular-Killing Curse, Weisman.

Hey, even the Red Sox reversed their curse eventually. Don't give up on Weisman yet.

That has to do more with Disney buying Marvel, and Saturday morning cartoons giving up the market.
(And what, 4Kids being the only block now on Saturday mornings outside of Cartoon Network?)
If the exact same show started this year and began airing on Cartoon Network, it would probably have a better chance.
Though we don't like to talk about Gargoyles did get a third season…. Its just not cannon outside of the first episode.
Though we don't like to talk about Gargoyles did get a third season…. Its just not cannon outside of the first episode.
Weisman wasn't involved on that season, and Disney didn't want him involved, and it sucked ass and has in fact been wiped out of existence now by the cannonical comic book.
So no, it doesn't count. The fact that Disney basically forced him off so that the product could then be tainted kind of exemplifies the curse, really.
Max Steel doesn't count either since it changed radically, twice, and Weisman stopped being involved after the first season.
Regardless of Continuity, Gargoyles did get a 3rd season. You can't just say, it doesn't exist because its not good or not cannon. That doesn't even make sense.
If you would like to restate your statement to make it not count Gargoyles, please say something like, "the Weisman curse is that Weisman can't stay on a single project past 2 seasons; either he is taken off the project or the show is canceled."
THERE WAS NO THIRD SEASON OF GARGOYLES.
There was a cheap knockoff called "The Goliath Chronicles", without any of the creative team, but that sucked ass and isn't even part of the same universe.
TV.com, IMDB, (and wikipedia) would like to beg to differ about it not counting as a third season.
Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it doesn't count as part of the show. Its like pretending the Filler Arcs aren't episodes of the One Piece cartoon. They exist, their part of the episode count, get over it.
Also Season 3 episode The Journey is part of the over all franchise cannon. That's a fact. Are you pretending its the 53rd episode of Season 2?

Wow, you seem like a pretty dry guy.
Wikipedia clearly states the name of Season 1 as Season One, Season 2 as Season Two and Season 3 as The Goliath Chronicles. Quite strange considering they chose to name the third season something not called Season Three.
IMDB and TV.com suck.
Hey Guys! DragonBall GT Is totally for reelz!!! tHE iNTERNET TOLD ME SO!
Dragon Ball GT is real. It might not be canon…but who really needs something to be canon to enjoy it?
