We should start calling them the Haki Jedi sect.
Heh, I put "something like the Force in Star Wars" in the post originally, but removed it because… because... I think there was a reason...?
Being on the other side of that discussion, I was hoping this chapter would for once and for all show that it really is as obvious as it is. I mean we were shown by the story that knocking people out is how haoushoku haki is identified, if it were to be any other way then Oda is just confusing us.
Well, it just seems like such a raw and unrefined ability, that I would imagine anyone with a "high level" of proficiency and willpower would be able to accomplish that task. I mean, just about everyone worth noting was freaking out this chapter at how powerful Luffy will be, and that was clearly influenced by the (dormant) power he displayed, so I am expecting a little more than just I can haz knock out fodder. Basically, I am hoping that, while maybe it is a unique ability for people with King's Haki, there is much more to it than just knocking people out. And I still hope that it wasn't the knock-out process that tipped people off, but something else that you cannot see (color?) that let everyone else know. At this point though, I guess it doesn't matter. "Rare" is becoming quite the list…
