Well I think that's the whole point of his Phoenix form, since Phoenix's keep coming back from the dead.

Alright, good. So we have yet another chapter after this. This would be a terrible way to start the 3 week break, and also I remember Christmas spoilers a couple years back, so I was almost positive that there was another week left.
I also remember not getting the first chapter of the year untill I started to work, the 3rd week of january (around 12-15), but Raw-Paradise states that this issue (3-4) is the Dec-21, the next one (5-6) is Jan-4, what is the true schedule?
If this isn't the last chapter of the year then no complains, if it is, the weakest clifhanger in my 3 years of being an one piece fan.
I think that is today when I first started to download and read online in the msnGroups, it was a december 3 years ago… I got to "I want to live" the 19, catched up the 20.

He might even make WB survive and just quit his position or something. Oda doesn't like to kill characters and some people think he will kill 2 major one at once. lol no way

If he transforms back into phoenix form, he should be able to heal himself. I'd think that if a Logia user was injured when his powers weren't active, and then activated them…that'd probably heal em. At least thats wat i think.

A good chapter, and poor WB pirates getting their asses kicked.
I bet Luffy will be the one to destroy the execution platform and maybe defeat a vice-admiral.
Now i wonder who is going to die, WB or Ace?!? Because i think it can't be both.
I bet next chapter Buggy will do something important that will make him even a bigger legend. -
OK he's the most likely named character to actually be dead. It happened off-camera, but Tashigi did say he was dead; then again, that doesn't mean much either since Pell got a gravestone. I really wouldn't be surprised to see him in some cover story or just in the background somewhere although there's no reason why Oda should really remember him. Assuming he is dead, which we did with every "dead" character until they appeared in a cover story or back in the main plot, all we can extrapolate from that is a meaningless guy with a few frames to his name may die again in the future.

No one said he was dead. They mention the priests later and don't make any sign that he is dead, rather they give their intentions for their punishment.
Also, I'm not making a blank denial about Mr 11. I'm saying that, since it was brought to my attention, he is the only named character to die outside of flashback but we're just going off what Tashigi said, even then. Pell had a gravestone and a whole country said he had been killed. That's all I'm saying.
I'm acknowledging that he very well may be dead but even if he is, when it comes to "extrapolating" the death of another character from his death (a) you'd have to bear in mind that he was a totally insignificant character and (b) by the very definition of the word, you cannot extrapolate from one data point. The original point, if you remember, was that one could somehow extrapolate the likeliness of WB (or any character) dying.

Remember that capturing Ace and starting his war was never a part of his plan. If BB's supposed show is a part of his original plan, it can't be coming to Marineford.
True, but that also means that he may not have thrown away his Shichibukai title yet and if he comes to the war to fight against the Whitebeard Pirates (like the mandatory summons told him to do), then the World Government would probably keep him as a Shichibukai since they have been shown to want to keep the Shichibukai slots filled. If he keeps his title, he can continue to grow in power while keeping the World Government from being an (open) enemy of his.

I originally wanted WB and Ace to die, but after reading this chapter I find myself changing my original opinion. If Ace were to die the story/plot would become shit and waste so much plot and build up.
WB will probably die, but when he does finally go I'm sure Ace will be the one bringing the vengeance toward the marines.

Faking Thatch's death was BB's original plan. Of course he also needed the devil fruit he took..but he was sure that the WB pirates would go after him, so he wanted Luffy's head which would grant him World Goverment protection. In this case the war would be caused on way or another, thats my version.

The only thing that bugs me about this chapter is Akainu beating Whitebeard as much as he did. I mean Whitebeard's going to have to fight Sengoku afterwards isn't he?

This chapter again made me think what Garp is going to do. I just can't seen him betraying the Marines.
I think something will happen like: He grabs Luffy at his head and throws him away with all his might, this
way trying to remove Luffy from the battle. After throwing him away Garp would turn around and walk away
however Luffy would strech his arms and grab Garp switching places with him and making Garp fly away in
instead, thus removing Garp from the battle and giving Luffy a nice moment :) -
I'm guessing Akainu will go after Luffy now or sometime in future arcs, seeing as he's evaded Kizaru and Aokiji thus far in the series

Felt this chapter was amazing. This really made you feel for everyone in the war. Garp is appearing even more conflicted. The Tops of Whitebeard crew will bounce back and kick some azz next chapter. Luffy Desperate scream to the world can't wait to see what he does with his final resolve.

i think the last thing whitebeard does is going to be a huge attack. i see ace being freed and all the new world pirates escaping on to their ships. after that whitebeard will use all of his remaining energy to create a gigantic attack that ends up destroying marineford and not letting the marines chase after the whitebeard pirates and their allies. after that whitebeard will probably go down and say a few words and finally die knowing his crew and allies are safe.

You're completely ignoring the possibilities, and there are a lot.
Like who does "we" refer to? Most people assume it's the BB pirates, but what if it refers to the Schichbukai and Marines as a whole?
would be awesome if blackbeard was referring to himself and the other emperor we don't know anything about yet. both of them teaming up and taking down both the marines and the whitebeard pirates would certainly be something that would shake the world to its core.

It's a Spring Island. We've seen the actual island part (where the Marine HQ is) and it's shown to have Cherry Blossoms in full bloom, which occurs early spring.

Hmmm, finally the moment for Luffy arrives. I wonder what he will do now that he already hasn't tried against these top foes. The only answer I can think of is some variation of haki that will allow him to free ace.
Ace also looks more like he will live, with his new resolve. Oda doesn't seem like the author would go and kill a character right after Ace decides he is happy to live. Hell, Oda doesn't even kill characters period, so doing something like that would be completely out of his element.
I also want to say I'm disappointed in the NW captains. I would think they'd be as fearsome as WB's division commanders at least, but they've done little to nothing. Hopefully, Squardo can redeem himself~
And it sucks to have a beak coming up. No matter how you look at it, we'll have two weeks of no chapters over the next 3 weeks.
