@Mark:
so is this gonna be in theaters here in the US??
We can only hope. The best we will probably get is a DVD release much like movie 8

@Mark:

…....... No, man.
-
Movie 8 did show in some select theaters for like a day or two.
-
I don't even LIKE Movie 8 but if I could've gone to see it in theaters.. I would have JUST TO SEE IT ;____;
and FFFFFFFFFF this movie 10 stuff has me happy in the PANTS I TELL YOU! I want that Ch. 0 if it's 80 pages __ UFNSLDKNFSLKDf

…....... No, man.
You know, there have been a couple of anime-movies that have been shown in US theatres lately, like the Gurren Lagann-movies and Evangelion 2.0, (which hasn't even had a DVD-release in Japan yet) so it's not entirely impossible that Strong World might get a theatrical release as well. Unlikely, but it might happen if you're lucky.

But though the popularity is growing amoung westerners, One Piece has not really hit that mark that such animes like neon genesis evangelion which has seen multiple releases and a huge fan base.
-
But Movie 8 DID see a release in theatres, so it's not beyond the realm of possibility.

do you kno when the dvd will be release?
-
Just picked up the OST. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm good stuff!
-
Okie dokie.
11:15AM showing.
That's 9:15PM Eastern Time.
It's a small theater and it's only on one screen and the next showing is at 1:30.
I don't know how much time is required to rewind reels but I'm guessing they give at least 30 minutes for prep between shows. Also count credits and previews. Anyone do a job in theaters that could venture a guess? Japanese previews can run about 10 minutes.
-
I think I read somewhere that the film was 110 mins, don't remember where though.
The OST is about 75 minutes including the bonus track.
I think at the Ziegfeld it takes about 15 - 20 mins between showings.
They also give time for people to get snacks since they have to let out the previous showing first.
-
I'm torn. On the one hand, waiting for April is a bitch that I may not be able to dominate. As well as the near impossibility of avoiding spoilers of the greatest movie ever made for 6 months in this forum is pretty much impossible. On the other hand, Oda wrote it. And I gouge my brain with a spoon every time I get the slightest spoiler for a One Piece chapter.
I take it back. I'm not torn, I'm trapped. I'm doomed with no way out. The walls are closing around me:(
Greg, are you gonna take pictures of the wait outside the theater? It'd be nice to see if One Piece can get Twilight level crowds of Japanese fans screaming their asses off (except that Twilight sucks and, oh the difference is obvious).
-
i used to work in an american theater Greg, so i cant be sure this is what they do in Japan, but here the film is on a platter system and the entire movie runs through the projector onto a new empty platter where it can be run through again to the original platter without any kind of rewinding. the time in between movies is usually for cleaning theaters, allowing people to get food, sit down and watch a couple commercials before the film starts
-
Sorry if this is a repeated question, but how long do you think it will take to get fansubs for movie ten?

About 4-8 months from now, when the DVD comes out.
-
Usually big movies like this don't have teasers about the next movie. But if it does I hope a certain person that appears on Thousand Lion-chan's sig will be a part of the gang^^. Though compared to how big this movie is, I don't think even the appearance of that woman will top it.

Ouch…wonder if I can dodge the spoilers until then. Might have to stay away from this site completely actually..
-
How about making a Movie 10 Related Discussion Thread after the premiere and restrict discussions to there. Like a 4-month spoiler thread. I'm sure a vast majority of AP Users would want to avoid spoilers and we don't want those leaving the forum for 4 months. :)
-
is it true that a third trailer for this film came out really recently? I tried youtube but my internet has a proxy for school that disables some sites and it wouldn't let me click on the video results I got
-
Nope, no trailers. Unless you mean the little thirty seconds bits that have been playing during the next episode previews lately.
-
Please share the ost when you get it cause i cant pay for that.
thanks and waiting for
-
I am hoping someone films the film and puts a torrent up. Im on a few exclusive communities that would have access to this immediately if it were to happen.
Im kinda ashamed to hope for this but I am a very impatient person….

Huh, i thought we ALL hope for this?
I don't see another way of watching the movie and i could never wait month for it. Everyone else wants to wait for the DVD-Release? -

I don't see another way of watching the movie and i could never wait month for it. Everyone else wants to wait for the DVD-Release?Yes since a crappy LQ Rip would ruin the movie.
-
Yes since a crappy LQ Rip would ruin the movie.
LoL speak for yourself.
I'd take a LQ the week of then wait for a HQ months later if I had the choice.
Besides, there have been some pretty decent quality CAMs commin out recently.
When the HQ comes out, that's just another excuse to watch the moive for the 30th time….again.....
-
Ths time tomorrow I'll be standing in line. I'm going with some students of mine as well so I'm gonna try and make them form a wall around me in the theater so I can film parts of it. Won't know how it will go until I get there though.

Hope it goes well for you, Greg.
And also, a quick question - Does the Japanese cinema experience differ much from western countries? Just curious, as I study media as an extra A level.
-
Yes. It's expensive as all hell but you get what you pay for. Plus at roughly 20 bucks per ticket it keeps most of the riff-raff out.
-
Wow, you have it lucky.
I'm used to 3000-yen tickets. :/

shit and here I'm complaining about tictets costing $10.50… Is the food there any good?
-

Wow, who'd have thought the cinema was such a luxury in Japan? Thanks for the answer, Greg!

The fuck? Did you use the reserved VIP seats or something? I've used them a few times if the movie required it (Pirates 3) but da-yum. What the hell theater was that? I've been all around and I've never seen anything like that.
-
How bad is this film going to have to be for you to not drop another $20-40USD to see a second time? :p

reserved vip seats? nothing like that in american theaters….whats the benefit of those? extra space?
-
-
Ive seen tickets for 26.00 but thats a seat..and popcorn and drinks without the wait .. its called a VIP pass.
mostly for the big disney filmsI wont be able to check the thread for info until late tomorrow :(
-

Actually, I bought my follow-up ticket over a month ago.
-
3000 yen? damn…...... that is roughly $35 Aussie dollars........... is that for a standard ticket? it has to be something special for that price, the cinema around here offer "gold class" for that kind of price, one on one services, deliver food to your seat, reclining sofa etc
