So yeah, I at least got an episode or two into the new filler arc. It's kinda sad the aside from a handful of characters in the manga, I like the Zanpakutou designs the best. And the fillians being old yet new makes it interesting, as opposed to throwing more random hollow/arrancar in Ichigo's way. Kubo should take notes from w/e animation studio handles the Bleach anime. His story's seemed bland since SS arc ended. Seems like everyone got their tricks there and haven't learned any new ones, instead side characters have shown off new stuff (ie captains) while the basic stuff from SS arc has gotten stronger for the main crew… er... well... main Ichigo cheering squad (Chad's arm thing got better... ok so he got a shield too, Uryu got a "better" bow (yet still does next to nothing)). Also seems like the villians are all the same uninteresting (sans Grimmjow) arrancar. They have next to no personality and their motivation is seemingly just to be evil and follow Aizen's orders (though Kubo tries to make them more than one dimensional as his killing them...). At least the Zanpakutou have motivation to lash out against the shinigami. It's pretty sad when a series' anime filler is better than the manga canon. But Bleach and Naruto have sunk pretty low despite both having potential early on (SS arc for Bleach, part one for Naruto).
/end rant
Edit: and did I mention, Rukia actually does stuff in the filler? Whether it truly hurt Sode no Shirayuki or not, she's done more than what Kubo would have done with any of the non-Ichigo "main characters". Here's hoping more Kubo-forgotten people get a chance to shine in this filler arc.
Bleach Discussion Part 2

All right seriously, why is Ichigo suddenly able to take down the strongest Espada when he had to go Hyper Hollow to beat Ulqi? Honestly, the Espadas are just one big fucking joke.

Yeah, I just spoiled myself w/ the new chapter (I left off after Ulqi fight), and found him slamming Yammy into the ground that easily way too lame. "Who said the numbers on the Espada went in order of strength?" should come next chapter methinks…
-
ok this chapter was baaaaaaaad. i actually like the characters in the manga but the way they were used in this chapter was bad. it confuses me on how ichigo is going through something even though he look fine but for some reason he has to be going through something.why cant he just be fine ? this is more of a personal problem but the main character has to act like he he gonna win is annoying.wow just had to get it out there.i swear i hope the vizards get like a spin off i will enjoy that alot.
-
Ichigo is probably going to get something new
-
"For once?"
Aw, and here I thought we were cool. :<
I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the concept of "fillers being better than continuity. We're still cool. It's just that for once Pierrot is actually doing something interesting while Kubo is doing more of the same crap he always does.
-
This chapter makes it official: the rankings of the Espada are completely random; given that #8 put up more of a fight than #9, 7, 5, and 3, and Ichigo needed a super-Hollow transformation to even hurt #4 while injuring the (supposedly) most powerful Espada with only the Vizard mask is child's-play to him. As well, Kubo seems to enjoy torturing fans of Rukia, Chad, and Renji: any time that they do anything, they either get beaten up and have to be saved, or win and run smack-dab into one of the higher-ranked villains and get beat effortlessly and/or off-screen. (ex. Rukia beating D. Roy and meeting Grimmjow, Chad every single time he gets involved, Renji vs. Byakuya or Syazel)

Well, technically, it's not the same mask, it's a new one. I'm guessing that this mask has more of the strength of the actual Hollow inside of him than the last one did.
Twenty bucks says thats how Kub explains it. -
The thing annoying me the most is: Ichigo has so far run into espada (including the one former) six times during the same damn day, each one progressively stronger, and has kept gotten the strenght to fight back (except against Ulq first time they met, and Nnoitora where he had 0 strenght left).
How has Ichigo gotten this strenght? One moment he can't make a scratch on Ulq, the next he's even with him in his non-released state, and now he's throwing around released Yammy. Without any time elapsing between the fight wherein he could have trained/ whatever. Seriously, what has he done to deserve getting Sayian genes spliced into his body? -
While the story was major "eh" again, I did like the artwork in this chapter.
I harp a lot on Kubo for this and that, but I've always been fond of his art.
-
Oh look, Chad, Renji and Rukia got their butts whooped again. Off screen no less. I didn't expect them to win, but I expected all three to be at least standing.

this is true…though sometimes, during his fight scenes, it can be hard to distinguish what from what but overall his art is always good, i really liked ichigo on the cover this time...
-
The final spread was pretty awesome too.
I just wish things weren't SOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOW.
-
I've thought about this for a time now but decided now post about it.
While Orihime can heal wounds and parts that has been vaporized before (time healing, or such….Grimmjow as an example)....but does that "rewind" their tireness?
I mean, Ichigo has fought with different opponents for alot of (in-time) hours he doesn't seem to get tired of anything. (the only exception i can think of now is when Nnoitra smacked him after Grimmjows fight but i see it more as Ichigo being weakened then).
He sure has alot of stamina. -

He sure has alot of stamina. That's exactly right, I think this is the only explanation, Orihime rewinds the clock on injuries, tiredness, etc while the healed person retains the battle experience.

He sure has alot of stamina.Aizen explained it sometime during early HM. She rejects events that happen, hence her phrase "Santen Kesshun, I reject". She's basically a "Goddess", having the ability to deny events that happened. Therefore, the fatigue vanishes because the person had never exerted themselves in the first place, according to her.
-
And our great hero knocks the Zero Espada that's the size of a city to the ground with a single strike thanks to his new striped Hollow Mask.
And the crowd went wild. -_-
-
Is it just me or does Ichigo look skinnier now? Or has it just been so long that I've forgotten he was always that skinny.
-
He's been skinny since his transformation, at least.
I don't really remember him with his shirt off before that.
-
Who said that Aizen was the final villain?
-
Ichigo's fights are literally why this series is called BLEACH.
They're completely bleached of anything interesting.
I don't know how one guy doing nothing but GETSUGA TENSHOU skilllessly in every single fight with little variation - if any - at all can possibly grab anyone's interest. Even Goku used things that weren't Kamehameha once in a blue moon.
Ichigo is the Inuyasha of this he might as well be yelling out "WIND SCAR"!! every opportunity he gets.
All right seriously, why is Ichigo suddenly able to take down the strongest Espada when he had to go Hyper Hollow to beat Ulqi? Honestly, the Espadas are just one big fucking joke.
not a funny one at that

He sure has alot of stamina.alot of manga characters have ridiculous amounts of stamina, the biggest question I have for any series is; when do they use the bathroom?
I'll just say it again: calling it now, next chapter Yammy: "Who said the numbers on the Espada went in order of strength?"
I wouldn't be surprised.
This chapter was lame, the page spread at the end was rather decent at least.
Is it me or does yammy's facial structure look alot like grand fishers?

I found the new bleach movie on youtube. Has anyone seen it yet? If so is it worth watching?

not really, except for mayuri going apeshit and ichigo fighting people the rest of the time it's this chick crying over rukia. In short this movie sucked balls.
I just hope that the next movie can be something a little more creative. I just wish that they would quit re-hashing the S.S arc in small formats over and over again.
Honestly I want a quincy storyline that features a group of quincy's that come from america and each one of them looks native american or something like that.

A Quincy storyline that doesn't involve Uryu getting all emo like the Bount filler would be interesting. Kubo kinda just made the Quincy and forgot them (though in Japan at least it's only Uryu and his father, still coulda made some from other countries as you suggest).
-
I'd just like to see a movie with American Soul Society. I can imagine it being vastly different; Kubo could use his original idea for Bleach (Snipe) and incorporate it into a movie.
"Swords? You guys are dumb. We got guns."
And the American Shinigami all wear suits instead of Robes, too.
-

So American shinigami are all hitmen? Suits and guns. Sounds cool though. And it could actually involve a shinigami-Quincy conflict since they both use projectile weapons. And to get the main cast there so that it actually has a chance of happening: vacation to America?
-
I've wanted that idea to happen to Bleach's storyline since SS arc.. instead it has gone in the most retarded directions possible.
-

I agree. Kubo appears to not realize all the possibilities he set up in the SS arc. He could have developed Quincies, modsouls, and Chad more than he has. Instead he focuses solely on Shinigami and Hollow/Arrancar/Vizards. If he'd developed them more evenly and done arcs that let more than just Ichigo shine, I wouldn't be as disappointed as I am with this series. Hell, anime filler right now is proving he could have even developed Zanpakutou more.
-
Yeah, it would be awesome if the Shinigami were shown to operate internationally like that. Americans with an old-west vibe, Europeans with a medieval one… And something went horribly wrong with Mexico's Soul Society, which is why we have Hueco Mundo and the Day of the Dead.
-
If America has a gun theme, and Europe has a medieval theme . . . . . then what is China or India's?
-
Sangoku Musou.
And Bollywood.
-

China will have an explosives theme, India will use Pugilism/Martial weapons and throwing weapons.
-
Indian soul society's theme will be instruments.
-
And Bollywood.
Seriously now, this would get me back into Bleach.
The Tunak Tunak Tun Crew should have a leading role in this arc!
And british shinigamis should have a never ending supply of Earl Grey tea and Welsh Corgis to smite their enemies. -
The British Shinigami would use muskets and cane swords.
!
And they'd all wear Redcoats.
-
The Irish Shinigami would be dressed as leprechauns and toss four-leaved Clovers at their enemies. They would also carry buckets of gold, chocolate coins with them.
-
Nah, the Irish would use beer powered weapons and instead of Spirit Energy, they simply get drunk. The drunker they are, the more powerful they become.
-
I'd hate to fight the Islamic Extremist shinigami. Each fight would end in a draw.
-
Who would the American Shinigama fight? Hollows that use gratuitous Japanese words and that are led by David Xanatos and his ultimately expendable army of Nakama?
-
@Fire Fist:

That's bad ass.
The german shinigami would use quick, fast and brutal tactics. Blitzkreig pretty much.

I like this. If Kubo wont do it, I will. And throw my name on it. 10 minute filler of "You don't bring a sword to a gunfight!" "NO, you don't bring a gun to a swordfight!" going back and forth. Also, this is the first time I've heard of this "Snipe". Only thing I knew of prior to Bleach was Zombie Powder.

I fucking love you.
-
Spoilers are out.
! The color cover is of everyone in Halloween costumes. Ichigo is Frankenstein?
Ichigo is surprised that Yammi's head/neck is only slightly cut.
Yammi: Hey, who do you think I am? I'm number zero Yammi-sama!
Those guys you defeated, Ulq, Noitra, and GJ are all small fries.
Ichigo tries to put on his mask again but for some reason he can't, so he's caught by Yammi.
Just as Yammi's going to use full power on him
Zaraki Kenpachi and Byakuya show up to help. The end. -
Good thing Ichigo isnt raping everyone himself, it would be too stupid.
-
! Well, at least some characters we can accept killing Yammy show up. Smart move, Kubo, smart move.
-
! Kenny's here? Ok, arc's over. Let's all pack up and leave!
-
and here i thought that ichigo got stronger and will defeat yammy easily , but it seems my guess is wrong ! sighhs
-
Im totally fine with kenpachi killing yammy
or Byak for that matter
-
I please let all three together fail to defeat him. Unohana should do the job.

Definitely best case scenario.
