It wont be any fun if Oda told us anyways, It's better to have that side of mystery.
"If you tell me where One Piece is then I'll quit being a pirate!"
That's one of the fun things about One Piece, it's always a mystery.

"Ah, I get it. So it's a mystery show." :D
I don't know about you guys but I don't want it to end any time soon, or for Oda to start setting limitations just yet.
I know it will have to end eventually, but I'm still not ready for that.
I wouldn't mind if it ended within the next 100 episodes. Honnestly, 500 episodes is enough…In my opinion, it doesn't need to go into 600-700 episode territory. Shows just get annoying when they NEVER end.

Then prepare to be disappointed.

Not really, entirely depends on the writing. For example, Inuyasha did steadily descend into farce, but Hajime no Ippo is still thoroughly enjoyable.
Even if Oda still does keep up his good work, it will still annoy me if it like, never ends. That's just my opinion. But whatever.
It will end. And I'm not personally worried about how long it goes. If he has it all planned out than I'm not worried. It's if he were making up everything as he goes that would worry me.

You want the anime to end before the manga does? People would honestly aneurysm with rage if that happened.
It's about the journey, not the destination.

You should totally stop watching after another hundred episodes. Just stop right there and start watching something new.
Thats the cool thing about One Piece being so insanely long. It has an ending that was thought out from the beginning, and the main characters are actually advancing in their lives, getting closer to their finale destinations. It really feels like they are progressing, especialy when the hit their Red Line half way mark. It's because of the lack of those 2 things which put me off of things like the Pokemon cartoon, or allot of American comics.
Even if Oda still does keep up his good work, it will still annoy me if it like, never ends. That's just my opinion. But whatever.
Well you could just stick to the manga then, lol.
Anyway, I read in a recent SBS (Someone help me find which one…) that Oda is pretty much "thinking" about ending it "soon", or he would "like to", so he can focus more on his marriage or something, which makes sense. But at the same time, he knows how high of expectations us fans have and he says he doesn't want to rush it and ruin it. So it's still hard to determine how much longer this could last. Oda is still pretty young if I'm not mistaken, so there's a very good chance it will last another 5 or more years. Look how much is happening just within 1 year lately.

Huh? Why would that help? The manga and the anime are basically the same thing, and will last as long as the other. Only difference is, one has filler and the other doesn't.

Was that the thing were he was talking about the 'perfect length' of a manga series or something because he was afraid that kids couldn't afford every volume?
They're halfway through the Grand Line. The entire story as a whole would be kind of lame if they completely cover the highly anticipated "New World" in 100 episodes (at least half of which will be required to even get there in the first place).

Unless the anime is sooo popular that Toei decides to continue it after the manga ends.

3 words: DRAGON. BALL. GT. Look how well that turned out.
Was DBGT successful? I'd think so but I don't know.
One Piece: NEW WARUDO
One Piece NW. I'd like to see Oda do other stories in the OP universe when he's done with OP, though I'd also like him to start another manga. Though I hope Toei doesn't continue it like that.

It kind of was but it was not as good as Toriyama's work. If you're an anal Dragon Ball otaku, you probably won't like it.

Like Dr.Slump and Dragon Ball were technically in the same universe. Same thing applies with Neko Majin Z. But I would like it One Piece stays as one universal manga series. When it's done, then Oda can create more stories in the O.P world. But he said he wanted to do one-shots and maybe a robot manga when One Piece is over.

It was one of the more recent SBS volumes - like, 53 or 54, I think. But it was definitely within the last four or five volumes.
The idea of a One Piece GT type series is certainly interesting. Toei is capable of doing good filler for OP, but it's not all that great. It would also depend on how the series ended, too.
MM, I've already seen GT. It wasn't horrible but it just didn't feel the same as DB or DBZ. It seemed better when I watched it on the International Channel and couldn't understand it . I miss the International Channel  .
@Kairouseki:

It was successful enough to run longer than originally scheduled, but not successful enough to avoid being cancelled not too long after that.

Were Epic Movie and the appropriately named Disaster Movie successful?
Successful =/= Good
Unless the anime is sooo popular that Toei decides to continue it after the manga ends.
Can't see that happening no matter how popular it is. I believe that One Piece will actually conclude.
Unlike the Dragon Ball series, there's more to the story than fighting a new enemy down the line. One Piece has an over arching story, and that's why I can't see it going on after the story has ended. DBZ was an exception because there wasn't really a story.
It could go something like:
Manga: One Piece is found. Some celebratory partying commences. Series ends.
Anime: One Piece is found. Some celebratory partying commences…only to be interrupted by marines/bounty hunters/other pirates who all want to dethrone the pirate king. Cue 500 more episodes of this.

Yeah, I was just asking because from the way MM phrased it it sounded like he was saying it was a total disaster. Which it wasn't (I'm guessing) from a financial standpoint.

Financially, no. But Toei made many plotholes which made some fans debate its canonicity. But it had a good ending to the whole series of DB.
DBGT is a mixed bag, but I really enjoyed how sparringly Super Saiyan was used in the early episodes, General Rild and the Sigma Force, and Baby. Some of the fights also have great animation, too!
It's just a shame the series went down the crapped with Gokû's return to full strength to fight Baby-Vegeta…

I was just being sarcastic, but what I meant was if you got tired of watching it, reading the manga would take up less time than a 20-30 minute anime episode, that also takes time to download and such. Plus there is no filler to get in the way.

Yeah, I know it was very recent… I'll have to take a look tomorrow and post it in here. I'm confident it was volume 52, 53 or 54.

Yes, but that's IF Oda has the series end with Luffy being the king of pirates and holding One Piece, which would be a very predictable ending… that doesn't fall into Oda's style.
I've always expected One Piece itself to not be as significant as Oda makes it seem. It may not even exist. It could have been a giant prank by Gold Roger to set his dream of creating a pirate era, or it could have been taken by someone else, leading the crew on another journey after they reach Raftle where it is rumored to be.
One Piece, despite being the name of the story and the foundation that set things into motion, is nly a small grain of rice in the story itself. When you consider everything: Pirates, Government, Revolutionists, Poneglyphs, various species yet to be shown, ancient weapons that are possible to be revived, the current situation with Ace, the crew getting back together... there's just SO much going on I can't see it ending any time soon.

Very true. My theory is when something is hyped enough, it may hit records in the theaters in the opening week. Then after tons of fans spend thousands or millions, they realize the movie was trash, but the creator is already stroking the green by the time they realize it.
Even if the DVDs don't sell well, if they made millions in the box office, you could still call it "successful" on their end.
It doesn't matter WHAT the One Piece is. It could be a corn cob pipe. That's not the point. The point of the One Piece isn't what it is, it's what you have to be able to do to get it. More than anything else, the One Piece is an idea.

Precisely my point. For all you know it could be a note written by Gold Roger saying "My dear friends, friendship is the greatest treasure of all!"
Though I doubt it, it'd be funny as hell to see their reactions as Luffy just laughs.

Disaster Movie tanked.Bad.
Sorry to ruin the analogy.

It had a Budget of 20 Million and Grossed 34 Million. That means it turned a Profit.
I'm glad the anime is still going on, but making the Strawhat's "defeat" at Shanbody the ending would have been cool to me. Obviously they would have played it up a little more and it would have been too dark for the show's overall tone, but it still would have been interesting to see.

IVE BEEN ENLIGHTNED BY RIN!
Two things: Funi's video thing is messing up bad for me. It constantly buffers, and at random intervals, will completely stop loading the video I'll get a 0:00/0:00 in the video length area and have to refresh. I also noticed the annoying New World opening after the opening (Two openings and no ending FTL) seems to have disappeared on Episode 416 (which I am slowly trudging through as we speak) Wishful thinking, I know, but can I expect an ending credits to magically appear at the episode's end? :P finishes episode -_-

Yeah the same thing was happening to me yesterday too. I hope they fix it.

My first guess was the other two simulcasts might be causing a server problem, but they both go live on Thursdays, not Wednesdays, so it's not that. It could still be a server issue on their end, though - possibly testing for their new social network site or they just happened to have a busy Thursday afternoon. Or some of their new security features might still have some bugs.
The error where it freezes and goes back to 0.00 is a problem with the regular FUNimation Video Portal as well.
It happened to me twice with the new FMA Brotherhood episode this morning.
So, tonight's episode is Robin and Usopp, huh? Their cover stories I'm not exactly estatic about, but they will be worth watching.
I still haven't been able to watch all the way through Chopper's part because of that error that stops the video halfway through and puts the timer to 0:00. I've tried 3 different times!

Wow I thought only I had this issue.
What I did was just reload the page, and after getting through the ad again, the video was still fully loaded on my computer. I just skipped past the time in the episode where this error happened, and was able to watch the rest without issue.
What I'm really waiting for is Brook, and especially Zoro.

In fact, BEFORE you start the ad, try sliding the bar to where you left off, THEN start the ad. I know it's unorthodox, but it eliminated my loading problems :O

Heh, I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
Is it just me or are they late in uploading the new episode this week? I usually get home from work at about this time on Saturdays. (Had the day off) I'm not complaining or anything, just wondering/double checking that there isn't something going on that I'm not aware of.
New episode is up
No! It was going so well and then it just stopped! Why are you doing this to me?!?!?!
I can't even access the new episode.
It won't even play.
Oh well.
