I have no idea why I still bother with this.
Ururu and Kon are the only characters I like :/

I think we still bother because Kubo sometimes can do a memorable moment or fun power…you just have to slog through the 99% of the crap that the rest of the series is.
BTW: nice touch in this week's filler with Shunsui and the Hanafuda card...with what we know now, it feels appropriate.
Bleach contains mediocre character designs, no backgrounds, poorly choreographed fights, a seriously flawed tier system, and a lame, repetitive plot.
I don't even know why I still read it every week, or why anyone would claim to be "a fan" or it. O_o
I don't know, I hear a bunch of people are in for it for the Yaoi pairings.

Truly the only reason why anyone watches anything.

No, it's got boobs too. That's what differentiates it from Reborn.

Not to mention the pacing issues…
Personally, I read it because there are still a few characters that, despite their lack of involvement with the plot, remain likeable. At least in this case, unlike Naruto, the characters that I like actually get some screentime (ex. Kenpachi).
Holy shit that's terrible. Just holy shit, holy shit, holy shit. Kubo GO TO YOUR CORNER!
I still want to see where this arc goes. Right now it seems pretty episodic and just "getting over hurdles just to get to the next one" in terms of plot, but the individual characters are fairly interesting.
There's always a possibility of stuff from earlier having meaning later on… though ti certainly doesn't seem like it now because everyone's just dying. But it could go okay...
I only get to comment on this section once in a long while and upon coming back and deciding to post, I am welcomed by this HOLYSHITWTFISWRONGWIDKUBO chapter? Kyouraku killing Starrk and Aizen cutting Harribel down?! WTF IS THIS SHIT?@?@?@
Seriously. The world must be laughing at me right now.
At this point, it just feels like only four Espada even mattered to the whole run of the story in my head:
-Grimmjaw & Ulquiorra (markers for Ichigo)
-Aaroniero (pretty much summed up the rest of Kaien's story and Rukia's marker)
-Szayel (a maybe, mostly due to the research he did that furthered Aizen's plot)
Other than them, the other six really have mattered in no way whatsoever, particularly if Aizen does his "just as planned" bit in the next few weeks. Meh, but I don't read Bleach for plot anyway.
well in a way i'm sort of happy. IT means story can move an inch. This is ichigo's story, so we should really only learn the most about his enemies anyway, or his main crews enemies.
But ha i could see the author finally thinking of something to do story wise and he was like shit, i need to kill these guys off quick before i forget it, or screw it up. you know the trouble of making the story up as you go can lead to this.
though i'm a huge hater of aizen (due to his sword) reminds me too much of sasuke. I hate gengustu's or illusions. Gets way overabused with omg he died, oh wait that was fake. omg he died this time, oh wait nvm. and so on. So the sooner aizen is dead the better in my eyes. (normal eyes)
Well Lisa's release with mask is mad looking and dam she's got a fine ass in the colourspread. (y)
I saw the picture, Aizen killing his own espada is the worst stupid story idea ever.
He's supposed to be a strategic genius that over-works plans meticulously and now he's killing his own dudes when they're useless.
No matter what the battle, you always need fodder and bodies to wear down the enemy and tire them out.
! So Hiyori and Lisa both have fighting - type Releases: a Zanbato and a Bisento, respectively. Neat but nothing really special; Hiyori's kinda looks like Zabimaru and Lisa's looks like Ikkaku's. As for Aizen suddenly killing Harribel, it's kinda inane but at least it's moving the story along. That's what really counts. Now we just need Yammy to die so we can move on to the King's Palace Arc or the Hell Arc.
My best hope for bleach is that one of the girls have a "wish granting relase" who gave halibell her wish for sacrifice.
Meh, she died as she was called, by a cut in the underboobs
I have a feeling Shinji's release has something to do with manipulating time, considering the fact that his sword has an hourglass shaped hilt, and that he was the most prominent person (besides Urahara) in the "Turn Back the Pendulum" arc. Not aging like Barragan, but rather space-time, like creating a bubble where reaction time is greatly reduced for everyone except him.
And the only girl's releases we haven't seen are Mashiro (Probably something insect related, going with her theme), Yachiru, Nemu (I doubt she even has a Zanpakuto, though), Nanao (Where the shit is she, anyway? Did Kubo suddenly forget about her?), and Kiyone. Oh, and Unohana's Bankai, but I have a feeling that will be shown when she rips Yammysaurus' face in two.
Yeah I read the chapter. Shunsui said Grey but when he attacked Stark it felt like a shallow attack since Shunsui wasn't wearing Grey. Stark did recieve damage it just wasn't a effective attack at all.
Shunsui: Grey.
10
Starrk: Tch… // (The wound is shallow......?! // That felt like a blow strong enough to take my whole arm off...)11
Starrk: ("Irooni"... // "Grey"... // My arm is grey...... // There is no grey on his body......)
Shunsui: What's wrong? Now if you call a color that you are wearing as well. Your attack will be more powerful. Shunsui said Grey as a hint to Stark that it's not the coloring the person you are attacking is wearing but what you are wearing. Since calling a color you aren't wearing is a weak attack. Stark called white since he is wearing white not becuase Shunsui was wearing white. Shunsui commented that he was impressed that Stark count on that quick from just noticing from the observation from what I quoted above.
Basically the effectiveness is based on what you are wearing. Not what your opponent is wearing. Since Shunsui is wearing all black, now that he called out black his attacks will be extremely effective.
! Wondering, does this only apply to clothing? Could you techinically fight naked and say peach/beige and do a ton of damage? Or by only having clothes on does damage, wouldn't being naked negate the effect of the increased (and decreased) damage potential
Harribel can't die yet, she didn't have a boring and otherwise unimportant origin story.

You mean like how you thought Stark's resureccion was a dragon? :ninja:

I think they showed Nemu having one during one of those colorspreads. The one with all the lieutenants of the Gotei 13.

Think they just mean an actual release, not just a sword. Only really Nemu and Nanao (and the 2 3rd seats Ukitake has…not counting Mashiro and Shinji of the Vizard) haven't released. There are a few who have released that really have had no data on their swords given out too, but I doubt Kubo will go back to them when he has to think of a new power-up for Ichigo. (all I really want to know now is the name of Iba's sword...well that and if Kubo is telling the truth of Gonryuumaru being a lightning release...and anything at all about Itegumo considering it's not even in the filler...and the purpose of Minazuki being a ray)
Oh, and speaking of Vizard, there is an image for a neat pic that seems a bit like the Captains and Lieutenant posters coming out for them:
!
Weird Mashiro doesn't even have a sword…unless it's like Nanao's in being hidden.
Minazuki being a manta ray isn't really an issue though. That's just what Unohana's shikai form happens to be; the spirit itself looking different is irrelevant I think.
Like Mayuri's bankai form being sentient but the actual spirit looks different from it.
@Tokoro:

@Fire Fist:
Nemu (I doubt she even has a Zanpakuto, though)
!
! Nemu has a sword, just look closely.
And when I said that of Minazuki, I meant sort of a bit more on it besides being "a flying manta ray with one eye that heals people in it's stomach.
awww, yachiru looks soo cute (l), hard to belive that she can kick ass, because we have never seen her do something..
@Tokoro:
And when I said that of Minazuki, I meant sort of a bit more on it besides being "a flying manta ray with one eye that heals people in it's stomach.
Because one day kubo tought that it would be cool… duh
Yo kubo, I'm real happy for ya an imma let you finish but bleach is NOW the biggest pile of dog shit of all time.
You know, it's a real damn shame, that Stark flashback WAS pretty sad and touching. It's just it was done just when he was about to die which makes it totally pointless-_-
@Thousand:

kubo should change the name of bleach to pointless

She's been shown to be the fastest Shinigami without using flashsteps and has incredible strength/agility; she was able to carry Kenpachi while jumping between buildings. Also, the way that she recklessly treats anyone and everyone in soul Society (Kenpachi's protection aside) indicates that she could probably hold her own in a fight.
As for the Chapter, it was decent, although it was kinda pointless for Lisa and Hiyori to release, since Aizen just came in and took out Harribel. It really doesn't surprise me, honestly… These fights have dragged out too long and we need to move on. Now Unohana needs to come and one-shot Yammysaurus so we can move onto the Hell Arc and get this wrapped up. Then Kubo can go back to finishing up his previous series and revive the awesomeness that is Gamma Akutabi and C.T. Smith.
Yachiru vs Yammisaurus, and take unohana to hell!!! :D :D :D
kubo should change the name of bleach to pointless
Kubo already clarified that he misspelled his manga's title, it's Bleh.
lol, but it's really funny how he can't put any kind of progression into 20 following chapters, dragging and dragging further and further, and than he suddenly says to himself 'screw this, i'll kill the last two espadas off in a flash!' (the two most interesting espadas, btw) making their existence entirly pointless.
that's how a true mastermind works! so… why exactly didn't he do this from the start?!! (where everyone would have been glad to see something happen...)
Maybe they finally gave Kubo a deadline !!!
…yy, i know gozillasaurus is still alive.
Maybe Bleach is going to be cancelled and Kubo needs to speed up the things O_o
Stark flashback was cool… =/
You know what, I don't even care. Fine, so Aizen just goes and offs Harribel? Great. Just one less long and drawn out battle that we have to sit through and maybe now we can finally move along with the story a little bit (if there even is a story left to tell). Honestly though, I think Kubo was probably intending to do the Harribel fight, but his editor probably told him to cut it because of how long the fights were taking.
I still have the hope that by killing halibel Stark is lonely again and goes… idk, mega-Stark, Nr. -1 whatever Kubo will pull out of his ass. So Aizen sacrifies Halibel so stark gets stronger, sth. like that.
Would be good for Stark, fitting his lonely-theme maybe a bit more, fitting her sacrifie-theme, showing that he deserved the 1, but enterely pointless to the story. Well, its bleach.^^
Yay, for everything past the end of the Soul Society Arc being pointless seeing as both the Vaizards and Arrancar are nowhere as strong as they were made out to be.
Im still really mad to see Stark and Harribel fall in the same chapter, i had high hopes for them….if they were just fodder anyway i'd rather kubo didn't waste time with the pointless fights, he could've just done a chapter per and been done with it...now i wonder how many people gin is going to take on before Aizen & Co. simply escape...
In all this time, what did Masashiro (masked raider chick) do? Kick wonderweis (2cond to last arrancar under Aizen) around?
I guess Tousen and Kensei + Dogface were duking it out. And the old man was just looking intensely at Aizen.
I like the Vizards, their names are not that hard to remember, Liza, Rose, Love, Hachi, Kensei, Masahiro, Shinji… and... the girl. 7 of 8 is great for bleach standars.
Wow. So much for the Espada. It's like Aizen wanted them to lose…..and they accomplished absolutely nothing. Guess we'll see what Yammy is doing....and Grimmjow could still be alive....but, eh.
Harribel still didn't even show her dream or why she's so nice and respectful, maybe she's Nel and Yammy's daughter. I hope so. Then her father seeks revenge.
You all are saying that your glad that time wasn't wasted on those twos fights when hundreds of chapters were wasted on others who were weaker.
so is Aizen just way to fucking conceited to say "well, back to the drawing board"?
Seriously, in stories, a good trait of a villain is causing the audience to dislike or even hate them. But most intelligent people can say "I may have hated him, but damn was he/she a good villain"
Sadly, that is not the case with Aizen. I just don't fucking like him. At all!
All he does is muck shit up, reveal that he's had everything planned all along, and then proceeds to run away as if he's gained some kind of victory, thus (as everyone has already said) make everything that's happened FUCKING POINTLESS.
Damn I hate him. And not event the kind of "I want to see pain and injury inflicted on him" hate, but the kind of hate where I just want him gone. I don't even care if it doesn't make any sense, just drop the fucker from this series.
god!
You know what surprised me the most? Kubo apparently actually remembered stuff from the beginning of the story!
…ah, who am I kidding. His editor probably shoved them under his nose and forced him to re-read them.
So, next chapter we'll probably have Harribel's flashback I guess, and then what? In like, two years of story we've progressed almost nowhere. Where do we go from here?
For as crappy as the developments in this chapter were, at least I found Starrk's flashback kinda sad. A little.
i thought it was retarded that he killed someone whose fighting three captain level people and he says she's too weak
EDIT: but i didn't want to see her fight so i was kinda happy about it too
Byakuran did say this was just a ceremony, not really a challenge for him to get the key.
One thing I noticed about Stark's flashback: Yammy doesn't seem to count as an ally in his eyes.
One thing I noticed about Stark's flashback: Yammy doesn't seem to count as an ally in his eyes.
No one cares about Yammy >:
I wouldn't be surprised if Kubo just forgot Yammy. As for FKT, it bored the hell out of me because I hsven't been impressed by an espada since emo rex and Grimmjow were defeated. I just want to see if my wacky theory about Aizen having a plan to control Ichigonator will come true or not. Aizen is starting to run away as much as Naraku from Inuyasha, bleh.
the only thing good about this chapter was starks flashback which was kinda depressing. I have to admit. This is what kubo probably meant by having aizen be more "evil" this year…..what a fail.
Oh wow KON. How long has it been!? This manga definitely needs more Kon, I wish they'd go back to Karakura Town so we can get some more Kon antics.
And while I may not overly admire Kubo's plot capability (see this chapter) I do so LOVE his colorspreads. They always look fabulous.
The whole killing of Harribel is a total hax, but the one shining moment in this chapter was Shunsui, again. I loved his little line about how you're still in the wrong if you fight, no matter for what cause.
And Kyoraku didn't even need to use bankai.
Hell arc or bust.
So yeah. When I read the spoilers, I was all "GRAAH THIS IS SHIT", but after actually reading the chapter, it wasn't the hate-inducing thing that I expected it to be.
Though Aizen is a piece of shit and I hope he dies in the most pathetic manner possible.
Also, STARK. ;0;
