Here are a few likely-to-happen things that I'd wanna see:
1. Sanji meet Hancock.
2. The Strawhats finding a devil fruit and the discussion amongst them starts on who should eat it (possible options: Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Nami, Franky so far). I think this is possible because Oda might wanna explain, at some point, the whole "where DFs come from" and show the process of finding out what the particular discovered DF does (could be an adventure/arc of its own)
3. Luffy learning a new technique on the level of creativity of the Gears (NOT Haki. He WILL learn it, but I want to see something else besides that)
4. Brooke acting like a bard and using music to assist other crew members in a fight. -

-The above Franky important battle, as well as one for Brook and Chopper. Seriously, Chopper gets no love. His fight with Hogback was interrupted and rather a letdown.
-Actually, what I really wanted to see was Chopper Vs. Hogback medical battle. Chopper using his medical knowledge to find weaknesses in each of Hogback's zombie creations. This would have made Chopper a little more developed as a battler.
-More Usopp battles where he gets to take down someone important(Perona was a nice reminder of why Usopp entertained me so back in the day).
-Chopper, Sanji and Nami character development.
-Buggy and Mr. 3 getting to do at least one noteworthy thing in the war.

He was a member of CP9! I say it was super important. But I do wan't Franky to get another big battle. I don't understand why people say he is weaker than he was at EL. Because Oars dodged his point blank shot and used his momentum to ram him into the wall? There hasn't been enough opportunity yet for him to show off, except against the PX bot, and even then his cupe de vent or burst did allright.
It would have been nice if Talaram(that spider monkey?) was really strong and put up a good fight, but Franky moped the floor with him too quick.
Any way yes, Franky did show awesome power against Talaram, it was such a one sided fight, just like Sanji vs Absalom, but it wasnt enough. At least they didn't get ripped off like Chopper and Robin, man that was lame!

BB getting owned really, really hard by whitebeard. Along with some snobby one-liners about challenging the world strongest. I would really enjoy that. And the reaction of all the bb fanboys of course.

I'd like to see the SH crew (in particular Usopp of course) landing on an Island of Snipers in the new world. Everyone there would be a sniper (obviously) and they'd actually consider Sogeking to be their king.

More Robin, Chopper, and Brook (not that fair I guess since he's so new) fights. Especially Robin, she's had one big fight … vs. Yama, which wasn't really that big. Chopper needs to grow more. And Franky got a ton of fights in W7/EL, so he's covered.
Would like to see that Kraken from the Devil's Triangle somehow, maybe Luffy'll travel through there again after the war? And a PX1 coverstory.

Eventually strategy took a backseat to technological breakthroughs.

The one thing I really wanna see, is some of the weaker crew (pretty much not the trio) learn Rokushiki to get more powerful.
Like, I could see Chopper and Franky learning tekai (where they can take blows). And possibly Shigan (finger gun).
Ussop learning the Geppou (moon step/where they jump on the air). Or the Kamie-e (where their body goes limp like paper to avoid attacks), and Soru (if that wimp Koby could learn it then Ussopp easily could).
I would want robin to use it some how, even though it would be ridiculously overpowering, itd be cool for her to learn the Shigan.
Brooke obviously would be epic with Soru and Geppou. He can already run on water :). And possibly Rankyaku (slicing winds) like Kaku used.
I couldnt really see Nami learning any Rokushiki though. And im just praying none of the monster trio learns/uses any of it.
Except maybe Sanji using Geppou or Soru, but id hate to see him using Soru.
