I've been playing The Last Guardian for the last hour or two and I love it.
There are a few issues. Framerate isn't perfect, nor is the camera. But I love how the little boy moves. He actually runs like a kid. He'll fall, he'll stumble. And Trico the animal is the most impressive thing I believe I've seen. I haven't been playing long, and people have said they've had issues with him not moving where he's supposed to but, I haven't really had that. I've had to figure out what to do at times, sure. Other times I've been lucky. Got on his back for the fun of it and he just started bolted to the next area.
Trico will scratch, he'll look at you with joy, he'll look at you with sadness. He really is like a dog.
My most recent memory is me just standing still, face to face with Trico (staring at his puppy eyes), and then Trico sneezed all of the sudden and the boy fell on his back. I certainly understand why the game took so long, if Trico was a major part of it.
There's also that silent story telling that I enjoy. Through atmosphere and simple gestures.
And it's on sale on the PSN store. That ain't half bad.
