For those who didn't get it:

The scene immediately following it, too, was also referenced right after the fight, but I can't find a video of it.

lol, totally didn't notice the joke while watching:
!
Willy and Cruise were also nice.
okish ep imo. I wasn't a huge fan of the Coon ep the last time around myself so. (BTW. Are we to presume it was Clyde who was Mysterion?)
I wonder if they'll blame Transocean since it was them who caused the whole incident. Granted they were on behalf of BP but still XD
Well Kenny could also be Mysterion, but I think it has to be one of the two, since we know who everyone else is.
Who was Kyle? The Kite?
Oh man, everything was so disjointed. I can't wait till next week when everything comes crashing together in a flurry of hilarious awesome.
Who was Kyle? The Kite?
I don't think so. The Kite sounded nothing like Kyle. How I see it is…
Kite = Kenny
Mysterion = Kyle
Mosquito = Clyde
I believe everyone else has been confirmed.

eh, I'd say Mintberry was Kenny, due to the poor costume, plus the blonde hair.
I wish Kenny was Mysterion.
Actually, Mintberry is Bradley. Who's Bradley?
http://southpark.wikia.com/wiki/Bradley This guy.
According to the Wiki, Clyde is The Mosquito and Kyle is Human Kite.

No, they showed the blond haired kid at the end with Kenny. I don't think we've even seen the kid before.
I thought Kyle was the mosquito?
I don't know for sure, but I just can't see Kyle as Mosquito. Rather, I can't see him just take a beating from Cartman like that and then not do anything.
I wish Kenny was Mysterion.
According to the Wiki, Clyde is The Mosquito and Kyle is Human Kite.
Well, if that's the case then that would make Kenny Mysterion. Also, it's kinda funny if Kyle is the Human Kite since "kite" sounds similar to another word…:ninja:
I'm pretty sure that Clyde is Mysterion.
lol, totally didn't notice the joke while watching:
Oh man…..
ohhhhh man.
That changes everything.
I totally got that when I was watching. I was fucking cracking up.
Also love the whale on the moon.
I felt like I should've gotten it, but I didn't….whats the joke?
[hide]The moon and earth look sort of like someone's head and body respectively.[/hide]
At least I think that's it. I didn't catch that during the episode.
The episode needed more Professor Chaos and General Disarray.

Not to mention the DP.

That's part of it, but you're missing the actual joke.
Pretend it's Kishimoto drawing an armadillo.
I had feeling it was something like that.
But my mind flipped the "No wait, that's too obvious" switch on.
I still don't know what DP stands for. I did manage to get the picture joke though.
Kyle can't be Mysterion, because in the first Coon episode, he was shown showing up in Kyle's room.
Robo Gorilla: It stands for Double Penetration.
Clyde is Mysterion, Kyle is the Mosquito.
Who else would Cartman argue with and randomly beat up anyways?
I'm Mysterion .
Clyde is Mysterion, Kyle is the Mosquito.
Who else would Cartman argue with and randomly beat up anyways?
Kyle wouldn't take that crap though. So he can't be Mosquito.
Kyle wouldn't take that crap though. So he can't be Mosquito.
I agree, Kyle would never take that BS from Cartman or suggest a bake sale. I think Clyde = Mosquito, Kenny = Human Kite because when Kenny's alarm went off in his house, in the scene after the first hero we saw after seeing Kenny was Human Kite (I don't think it was just a coincidence), and Kyle is Mysterion because only he hates Cartman that much.
LOGIC PEOPLE LOGIC
Kyle can't be Mysterion, considering he visited Kyle in his cell.
Greg beat me to it, but yes, Kyle can't be Mysterion.
I said this earlier. :[
Who else would Cartman argue with and randomly beat up anyways?
This.
Besides considering that Kyle's beat up Cartman on several occasions, including last weeks "Jersey Shore" episode is perfect that Cartman could exact his revenge at some point.
I didn't see the episode as tackling the issue of the BP oil spill, but rather the media's propensity to report as to what should've been done to prevent a catastrophe. Hence Captain Hindsight. The news does this all the time, rather than report actual news.
I love that South Park is pulling the exact same gag as they did last time they did the Coon. Where they use the uber similar non descriptive faces to hide the characters' identities in plain site. Its amusing.
First time even more so when the entire 22 minute build up was towards revealing a face the audience couldn't recognize.

I didn't see him as a reflection of the media. If the news didn't tell us what BP should have done then we'd have no idea how much the spill was completely their fault due to them being careless and frugal when it came to safety. I mean they were also reporting the spill while they were chastising BP so showing whats happening and showing what could've been done to prevent it aren't exclusive ways to reporting the news.
That being said i'm not really sure what his purpose was other than to point out how preventable the spill was. Making him a super hero with a power that's only useful in hindsight makes him pretty useless. That might have been the joke to go along with the plot device of throwing coon & friends in there. I don't like to overthink it because it is southpark at the end of the day and they only spend like a week tops per episode and most of that is putting it together so i don't believe they even spent a lot of time thinking about it. Still funny though.

Exactly right.
But I thought it was so obvious I didn't even want to mention it.
"You should have had a backup safety valve!"
"We did."
"Oh…well...you should have had a backup-backup safety valve!!!"
I can't imagine how far your head would have to be stuck up your ass not to see it.
I haven't really cared for this half of the season so far. I hope that changes soon.
Exactly right.

Yeah.
New episode preview
http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/359090/all-will-know-who-i-am
Okay, so after the preview, I'm pretty much 100% that Mysterion is Craig. It sounds like him from the Pandeminc episodes.
Also, Press Release:
Episode 1412 "Mysterion Rises" Announcement
**From the Comedy Central Press Release:
MYSTERIONS TRUE IDENTITY IS REVEALED
IN AN ALL-NEW SOUTH PARK
ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 AT 10:00 P.M. ON COMEDY CENTRAL**NEW YORK, November 1, 2010 The Coon comes face-to-face with Cthulhu in an all-new episode of South Park titled, Mysterion Rises, premiering on Wednesday, November 3 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on COMEDY CENTRAL.
Led by Mysterion, Coon and Friends are working together to help the people in the Gulf who are at the mercy of the dark lord, Cthulhu. The Coon, scorned by his fellow super heroes and now working alone, is out for revenge.
I'm actually a little psyched for this episode.
Wasn't that Clyde in the Pandemic episodes?
I always get those two mixed up. Stupid similar names.
I always get those two mixed up. Stupid similar names.
Yeah, I had to go check
I was sure until you said something, then I was like uh…...
But yep, It's Craig.
You mean Greg .
Nvm, can't be Craig, he wasn't with them in the scene were we saw the friends without their costumes. It has to be Kenny.
Here's how I see it:
Coon - Cartman (duh)
Tool Shed - Stan
Iron Maiden - Timmy
Whatshisname- Token
Mint Berry Crunch - Bradley was it
Human Kite - Kyle
Mosquito - Clyde
Mysterion - Kenny
Yeah, I too think Mysterion has to be Kenny.
I'm pretty sure the Human Kite is Kyle.
The rest, like Stan, Timmy, and Token are pretty obvious.
Here is what someone wrote about Mysterion from the first episode:
It was Clyde. He falls asleep in Mr. Garrison's class, which indicates he had a long night. When he meets Cartman on the roof, Cartman says "you're just doing this cause I am, copycat." To which Mysterion replys no, indicating he has been up doing it before. Cartman also says that he knew who Mysterion was and even said it. The only peole that leaves left are Kenny, Kyle, Stan, Craig, and Clyde. When he says Clyde on the roof, Mysterion gets fed up and has to go. Kyle and Mysterion meet, which rules him out. Kenny's family can't afford the suit, and Stan would not be so formal with Kyle. Craig hates adventures, as indicated in the Peru eposode, and he has a nasilly voice that would be hard to change. Mysterion also says he has lived in South Park his whole life, narrowing the spectrum once more.
Well, the tagline they are using for this next episode is "Mysterion's true identity is revealed!"
I love how the title (of the clip on South Park Studios) is a reference to the 2012 sequel to "The Dark Knight"
