Warcarft 3 (again)
What are you Playing?

Warcarft 3 (again)
-
Making my way through the increasingly annoying boss gauntlet that is Memories Lane in Dragon Quest 8.
-
Finally started a game in Dominions 4. Pretty simple game more or less but has a lot of depth to it too if you get good at it. Even on easy I was losing quite a bit at the beginning but I'm pretty overpowered now and have lots of gold.
-
Going over my game collection and with summer approaching I was hoping I can put some of them away in the "Completed" section. Going to stream them, if anyone would like me to start with a certain game I leave the playthroughs recordings on twitch. Note that if you suggest a game that has sequels then I would complete the sequels after I finish the game. I am just putting a portion of the entire list. Anyways, if anyone wants to watch a stream, or suggest a game "i must have played already" all these games are old then thank you. Have a good weekend.

The FEAR and Crysis series are must plays. FEAR 2 not so much but the first game and its expansions are great. Crysis 2 and 3 aren't really worth playing.
I started a new game in Subnautica without the food and water mechanics so I don't have to worry about eating or drinking. Started building an underwater base. Really good game.
-
I finished Suikoden II. A fun, if somewhat dated, RPG.
Now it's time for Last of Us.
-
I feared someone would suggest FEAR. I get too immersed and get super jumpy jajajaja. Thanks for the suggestions. I should probably be setting the stream next week.
-
Finally digging into Horizon: Zero Dawn in earnest. This game is great so far.
-

Yeah, you might have issues with parts if you get scared easily. The shooting gameplay is worth it though. Also make sure you look up fixes for poor performance because the first game and expansions can have performance issues on modern hardware.
-
I may be late to the party but right now I'm being astonished by the sheer vastness of the Witcher 3 world. I am still at the beginning I'd reckon yet the number of quests and places to explore make for some wonderful gaming hours. No surprise it's a 'game of the year' winner.
And once that game is finished, I'll be looking to get into NieR: Automata (which by then will be cheaper hopefully).
-

Incredibly jumpy. It might be hilarious, also I would probably play at night without any lights. I think I will go the Crysis route first (less games to complete). Were you interestd in watching live? Any particular day you'd rather I would stream the games? Of course if I can make it work with my schedule.
My desktop is a beast but quite old now. Nearing it's 4th or 5th year. I changed the graphics cards though, so I will check if there are performance issues with either my laptop or desktop.
-
Your specs don't matter. The issue I'm talking about is caused by a bug that was never patched.
And I'll watch if I can. I'm usually at my computer sometime after midnight on weekdays and really any time in the afternoon or later on weekends.
-
Trying to give another fair chance to Last Guardian, but Trico after the first time becomes even more of a nuisance, as well as annoying climbing mechanics that after Breath of the Wild feel very outdated and poor implemented. Trico may look amazing, but its implementation in the gameplay slows down everything to such a degree that I question why wouldn't it be possible to allow the choice of playing either on your own or choose to go alongside it. It would offer much more needed puzzles for different scenarios, replayability and the option to feel the bond with it in different ways for everyone.
As it is, by now we know that reactions to inputs may vary and aren't always perfect, but even ignoring that by simply retreading grounds with not much inbetween I really don't feel any push to finish it a second time (and it's not the case for me with other puzzle games like Riven or Gyakuten Saiban, or even Ico and SotC themselves), let alone get all the trophies with many idiotic ones (like waiting and listening to all the hints).

For the love of Enel take those Prince of Persia games off the list. Sands of Time is the only worthy updated entry. -

I've sunk…way too many hours into Valdis story. Going for every insane Steam achievement is a surprisingly good way to explore the game's depth (the difficulty levels, different skill/stat builds, high-level battle mechanics, what it takes to S-rank all the bosses). At the very least, it's worth playing through once with each of the four characters- not for the story differences (minor), but for varying gameplay.
Also recommending Dustforce. I never "finished" it either because it gets so punishingly hard, but it's definitely worth pushing yourself until you find your own limits :P
Trying to give another fair chance to Last Guardian
Yo I couldn't even finish it… Got to that one section with a pitch-black cave and just didn't have the will to go on haha.
-
I know of the games on that list that I played and couldn't finish would be Skyrim and Far Cry those gamea perfectly emphasize why to me open world games aren't all they're cracked up to be at least when you've already played the GTA PS2 trilogy, Oblivion, & Bully not helped by uninteresting characters, meh stories, or just being plain boring in almost all aspects.
-
Foolio: Jajaja, yeah but I kinda dug myself into a hole by beating Sands of Time. With your comment there though those games have been pushed further down the list.
CCC: I love Valdis, I was close in completing my first run, but I might have lost all my information. I wouldn't mind starting again, but it does bring my mood down a notch. I do believe it is a great game and I was having lots of fun playing. I did badly so I rarely got S rank.
Green_vs_Red: I was told to play Far Cry 3, and I already had the prequels. I also agree that open world has had very dull moments. I got Skyrim as a gift. It would be my first maybe only entry to the Elder Scrolls. I watched a friend play enough Morrowind.

I highly recommend it! It's a short game once you're familiar with the route and boss patterns. And I never got a single S rank my first playthrough either. That shit is roughhhh.

Why is there an obligation to continue? It's not like Sands of Time has an unfinished story. Then again I gave up partway through Warrior Within, it was just THAT bad. As in "timed precision platforming section that won't even detect my inputs properly or let me grab vines to swing." So maybe you'll change your mind quickly too XD

Ahhhh you are getting me hyped again. I will check if my data is still there. I had an extra boss to beat, really tough, top left corner of the map maybe? Hmmm maybe I'll stream more than one game a week. But first, I want to get settled with one, build from there. I think my build was Light + Electric? If I get my files l, I'll let you know, right now it seems that I will stream Saturday afternoon. And maybe once or twice Monday to Friday.

My own stupidity is the obligation. I have this finish stuff thing. And it bothers me not to to the point I just do not want to play anything. The only excuse I could say is to see the mistakes myself and make sure to not replicate in my own development.
I agree Sands of Time has a self-contained story. However, because they continued it, I am curious in how do you mess up that? Which you gave one of the reasons why. I must admit, I did start one of them and stopped because it was really bad, jajajaja.

I think I will start Crysis Saturday afternoon.
-
I'm playing Punch-Out today. Fighting Great Tiger right now.
-
Last of Us has been fun so far, but man I wish the game didn't take five minutes to start every time I want to play it.
-
I spent 7 hours streaming PS1 games last night.
I did the first two overworlds of Spyro The Dragon,
then I played Crash Bandicoot Warped from start to finish,
then I played a bit of Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories. It was a ton of fun, can't wait to do it again.
-
Currently spread thin between P5, endgame cleanup in Breath of the Wild, and some junk from the ACLU humble bundle (Nuclear Throne, The Witness, Superbrothers). But I really want to be doing the final Dark Souls 3 DLC…and Nioh DLC when that drops soon.
-
So, because my friend's started playing it, I bought Overwatch.
Let me say, I have no idea what's going on for most of the time, but I already have some faves. Orissa is tons of fun to play while I love Reinhardt's quotes.
And Reaper really reloads by tossing away his shotguns and pulling out a new pair from wherever. Simply wow.
-
*reaches for Horizon: ZD
*BOTW grabs my hand and pulls it back to itself
Me: No, I've finished you. I-I have other games to play and I c-can't…
BOTW: Shhhh...
*BOTW places my hand on its crotch and gently rubs
BOTW: You still haven't fully upgraded all the clothes you know.
-
Did a run for Crysis, thanks for those whom dropped by, and now you know I suck! Although to be fair, I started dying less at the end. The game is dynamic with their abilities, although I wish the super jump was a bit more impressive. That would be my weekend game. During the week, I think I'll go for Valdis and go for all those achievements.
@CCC, what's your favourite character from the four playabale.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Comment from the stream:
"No, seriously your play sucks, but have fun! Never change world.
-
So, because my friend's started playing it, I bought Overwatch.
PC or console? I really wanna jump back in, and I figure having a bunch of friends to jump in with might help push me to do so.
-
Last of Us was fun, though pretty frustrating at times (and, damn, that ending).
Now I'm going to play Order of Ecclesia.
-
@Tamiel:
@CCC, what's your favourite character from the four playabale.
Sword guy for sure. Not the strongest, but the most fun and straightforward.
Monk girl is the strongest with the right setup. Gilda is just weird and different. Gun guy…I honestly can't recall much about him haha. -

PC.
I'm horribly clumsy still, but I'm trying my best. I can't even remember the names half the time. I seriously shouted "It's High Noon coming from the back" when
gravesMcCree flanked us. And called Reaper "Diediedie".Someday…

A good dose of mystery heroes every day or so and you'll get used to all the characters in no time.
-

Good good game easily one of the best for the 3DS.

Yep, I'm liking it so far and it's actually the last GBA/DS game I need to play. Interesting approach with the overworld map and the glyph system.
-
I just beat this:
It sucked. Don't play it.
-

Being that it was on the Game Gear that shouldn't have surprised you.
-
Putting BOTW down until the expansion drops.
It's the start of May and now time to update my itinerary:
Zero Time Dilemma
Trails in the Sky the 3rd (just hit Steam)
World of Final Fantasy
Horizon Zero Dawn
Resident Evil 3Fishing out my GC will have to wait for a bit.
-
Being that it was on the Game Gear that shouldn't have surprised you.
Hey, Game Gear had a ton of great games. I should know, I own them all. :P
!
-
Oh shit, this thread eluded my attention completely.
WoW - returned to legion in February or something just to see what's going on. I planned to get one toon of every class to 110 before the next X-pack, but I got kinda bored after the second one. Might cancel my sub until further notice.
Dark Cloud 2 - Started a new game with my childhood friend who used to play it too. It was like only him and me in the entire world who knew about it. And to this day it amazes me. The combat is a bit clunky, still. But I still love this game.
Arkham Origins - if only for the Deathstroke battle, which is still one of my favourite fights in any game ever. After I beat him, it kinda fell apart for me though.
God of War 3 - Holy shit how much I miss classic hack and slash games. I'm thoroughly uninterested in that one where he live in Asgard. Most of the creatures doesn't seem to be accurate for norse monsters anyway. But I digress, I tried playing GOW3 on hard and it got so obnoxiously difficult I couldn't move my thumbs by the end of the Hades battle. I'm pleased to see that I've become a much better gamer. I used to be unable to do this on normal back in the day.
Warhammer Total War in preparation for the sequel. Haven't played it since around the first DLC, but with all the remaining DLCs and the add on factions, the game has become considerably more replayable. I've been making it a point to play as every faction at least for 100 turns or at least until it gets on my nerves with the various tiny frustrations that inevitably come. I had to replay Empire 6 times before the Chaos ( random number ) Gods decided to not mess up my flow early in the game.
Final Fantasy XII - guess who I'm trying to kill.
-
Currently playing through the God of War series in story order from Ascension to 3 on God/Titan Mode (Very Hard) and I'm currently at GoW2. You know how in Dark Souls the motto is to die a lot, God of War came up with it first. So far, the games to really test my patience were GoW1 and Ghost of Sparta.
-
My files for Valdis Story are still intact, so I will be completing that during the week, while I do Crysis during the weekend. I will probably add Child of Light in the mix once Valdis is beaten once and I do other character runs. I am quite happy, I am going to go watch my old playthroughs to see what the hell was I doing.

Battletoads came up with that way, way before God of War did. :P

I have no idea how you can play it on Titan mode. I remember trying it out once on GOW 3 and dying at least 20 times in a row on the freaking skeletons even before Poseidon. And I only managed to barely beat them because I went out of my way to calculate their exact patterns when I moved a certain way. It was unbearable.

I don't blame you one bit, man. In Ghost of Sparta on God Mode/Very Hard, during the final stretch of the game in Tartarus, this one small room with two Wraiths and one Cyclops halted my progress for a good 3 to 4 hours while I was playing at night, that's a lot of deaths. If you knock down the Wraiths, they can grab you from the floor and if they do while you're low on health, instant kill. Getting hit by the Cyclops means a huge chunk of health gone and once again, getting grabbed at low health equals instant kill. But even if you even have enough health to escape, he throws you and you take damage, and with a full bar of health all of that will put you near death.
I got to a point where I gave up and looked online for a way to beat this room. Then I found this method:
(Skip to 20:38 for the room I'm talking about)
That room will ALWAYS be the main reason I'll never play GoS on God Mode again. Ever.
-
Going at it again:

That's a cyclops? Holy crap have the graphics ever come far.
Speaking of horrible and boring: have you ever finished that challenge in GOW 3 where you have to kill a whole bunch of monsters unarmed? -
