Went to see Civil War last night.
BEST. SPIDER-MAN. EVER. Tom Holland (and the script I guess) pulled off the perfect "young Peter Parker" blend of awkward, geeky, and sassy. The costume is fantastic, he stole the show during the airport fight, and that post-credits scene where he's got a certain piece of Spidey tech we haven't seen in the movies before had me giddy.
! Also, they referenced Spidey's origins pretty much exactly how I thought they would… that little bit of conversation where Tony asks Peter why he does what he does, and Peter says something like, "if you have these powers, and you don't use them for good... bad things happen." Anyone who knows even a tiny bit about Spider-Man will know that's about Uncle Ben.
…Oh, and the rest of the movie was pretty cool too. Black Panther was great. Like others have said, the story was much more coherent and less hackneyed than the Civil War event in the comics, and the tension between the heroes was legitimate and believable.
See, DC and WB? Take notes. THAT is how you do a "superhero versus superhero" movie and make your audience actually give a damn.
