- As someone has to wear glasses, having to wear another pair on top of them is a hassle… and stupid-looking.

New clip! This one a bit of the Iron Man vs. Thor fight:
Oh, RDJ. I love you.
-
The headbutt scene is my favorite!
-
I hope people won't complain about Iron Man managing to get a couple blows in.
-
Man, really can't wait for Iron Man 3: Iron Man and his amazing friends next month!

Edit: These quotes are so hilarious. I like this one the most.
Thor: He's still my brother.
Captain America: Your brother killed hundreds of people.
Thor: He's adopted. -

I remember that line, haha. There are many of those little gems. I would say though not to post here until the film is at least out in the U.S. (May 4th)
-
I have been waiting for this movie for the past 4 or 5 years since Marvel formed their own studio, and now it's less than two weeks away. I'm so excited for this I just want the next two weeks to fly by. This will be the culmination of something that has never been done in cinema before. This complex tapestry that Marvel has been weaving has been leading all up to this. All I can say is that I can't wait for my mind to blown on May 4th.
I don't plan on seeing it in 3D since I don't think it will add anything for me. I think because Marvel has gone to such great lengths to keep the end scene at the end of the credits a tight secret, it must be pretty epic.

It was probably a DKR fan. :ninja:

3 days till it comes out bitches!!! OMG OMG OMG, so close!!!
-
We had a Avengers tie-in movie-Marathon on Saturday with all 5 films and 2 short films as a preparation for The Avengers.
At any minute i should be able to book the seats for the 26th. 3 days left … i never had such anticipation for a movie.
-
3 days? I thought it came out May 4th.
-
-
I find it particularly funny that a movie with cap as the leader has it shown in his country later then everyone else ^_^
-
Me gusta. 3 days, tickets booked. It will be epic.
-
Fucking movie theatre reservations call centre closes after 5. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to call to book. It better not be fully booked till then!
-
I'm going to see it Friday. Wanted to see it Wednesday but my pals had to work. I was the first who made reservations, so it doesn't look like it'll be a smash hit here sadly. On the plus side I do have the best seats in the theater now.
-
Me and my friend booked online. Thank you internets! The middle seats were already fully booked though. Geez. But we found a seat close enough to the centre. Right here.
!
Now I still have to call the theater because the time listed on the ticket is 8pm for the premier date whilst the rest of the week, it starts at 9pm. Furthermore the showing before that is 5:45pm and that a difference of 2 hours and 15 minutes but the film is 2 hours and 22-23 minutes and I swear to God, if I miss a second of this glorious masterpiece, I'M GONNA CHOKE A MOTHERFUCKER!!!
Ahem, as you can see, I'm pretty excited.
2 days to go!!!
-
Why doesn't anyone choose center in the back row? I don't know the size of your theaters, but fir the average theater sites in the states… I usually find the back row is usually the best for 3D.
-
I think it's because everyone associates backrow with not being able to see anything. I know for me personally, I have poor eyesight without my glasses so I need to be close to the screen. Our theatres are pretty big though, the one showing the Avengers seats over 600. I guess it's just one of those societal myths everyone believes.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Speaking of, how was the 3D J-sack? Does it make everything look dark and blurry?
-
I usually go to the back.
The 3D didn't really do anything for me just like any 3D film.
Joss didn't film it in 3D (Thank God), so it isn't necessary. I think it was pretty subtle. As long as it is a digital projection, I always recommend 2D.
-
Wait, so I don't have to wear the glasses and it'll look fine? Thank God for that.
Believe me, if I could I wouldn't watch it in 3D (or any film for that matter). I wouldn't fork over the extra cash for a cheap gimmick. Unfortunately the theatre only offers the 3D version during the first few weeks even though they have the 2D version because they're assholes that like to milk us out of our money-_-
-
If you watch a 3D-film without the glasses it looks blurry. You have to wear them.
The Avengers isn't shown in 2D here either and that really sucks. I don't want to pay 3€ more because of something that doesn't even add to the experience (for me).
-
3D is like a high price hooker…
You pay out the ear and feel ashamed and unsatisfied by the end.
-
Just saw it… wow.
Absolutely loved the hell out of it, amazing action scenes, very humourous and the hulk nearly stole the whole show with some of his scenes.
I am a massive Nolan fan, but I reckon he's got his work cut out for him going up against this movie.
There was nothing I could fault the film for, it was everything I had hoped it would be and more.
Only gave one film a 10/10 last year and I saw 50 something films last year, this gets a 10/10 for me.
-
Why UK and AU gets this movie before America?
-
You don't have to pay higher price here if you already have 3D glasses.
-
Haven't seen it yet but making a prediction:
After the credits scene. Thanos/The Infinity Gauntlet.
-
Superhero comics and their movie adaptations are not my cup of tea. Moreover, Avengers are a team I barely know anything about and not one from the top of non-existant list. But spoilers and early reviews actually managed to pique my interest. If what they say about Whedon fitting a whole tv season into one film is at least partially true, I might be missing out on something good.
-
I'm not that familiar with Avengers lore either, but this looks to be a blast. Superheroes are our modern mythology, and I always love a good Hero's Journey.
But more than anything Marvel has been very clever (and ballsy) building up to this thing. I freaking loved Iron Man, I liked Iron Man 2, I really liked Thor, and I really really liked Captain America. (haven't seen either Hulk movie) Seeing them team up will be awesome.
-
You are not missing out. Avengers comics are garbage and full of selfish characters. Both the movies and cartoon do a better job at making the characters likable.
-
I ain't a comic book fan or anything. What I am is a fan of good, simple stories, engaging characters and well-done action. Marvel Studios has never disappointed me with any of their movies since its inception and now we're going to get an amalgam of all the best traits from the movies combined with a script from one of the funniest and coolest directors in Hollywood? I'm so there!
One day to go!!!
Also Satsuki, you must watch the Hulk reboot before you watch the Avengers. You must!
-
Both Hulk movies have their strengths and weaknesses. The first one mostly falls apart at mutant poodles. Neither of them have been great definitive Hulk movies though. The second one mostly gets by with the goodwill bought from Iron Man.
Anyway, as you overseas folks are about to see the movie in the very near future, once again, Spoiler tag alert. Tag everything, especially whatever the hell the post-credits scene is. I think I've already been accidentally teased as to what it is, but I do NOT want to know. I'm probably going to be dodging this thread for the next week, but, you know.
Courtesy.
-
I don't get how a movie with a big green juggernaut could be so boring as it was in the first hulk. Let's put it this way, Hulk 1 ended with some abstract, metaphor about Hulk giving away his powers that was as confusing as it was contrived. Hulk 2 ended with a couple of fucking monsters brutalizing each other. Now that's what a movie with Hulk should be about.
I'll be posting my review of the movie on my tumblr if anyone is interested so I won't taint this thread with spoilers.
-
Incredible Hulk was the most boring superhero movie ever, though I haven't seen the original Hulk movie. And unlike Thor it didn't have charismatic actors to redeem it ever so slightly.
-
I dunno, I was never really bored once during the movie. It had great action scenes of Hulk ripping shit up, an intriguing antagonist, actually explored Bruce accepting his power in a mature manner and a freakin' awesome finale battle. It's definitely the weakest of the Marvel 5 but I had fun watching it. But maybe the bad memories of the first Hulk really lowered my bar for the reboot to the point where I was just happy that Hulk was doing shit and not just running away for half the movie.
-
This right here is pretty funny.
-
Off to see it now. I am so fucking hyped!!!
-
This thing is being praised beyond belief on Rotten Tomatoes. It's sitting nice and comfy right now at 95% with 43 reviews in.
[http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/marvels_the_avengers/I](http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/marvels_the_avengers/)'m so jealous of the rest of the world right now. I can't wait to see this!!
-
Just saw it then. Really enjoyed it despite little knowledge of the Marvel Universe (I've seen a few of the movies leading up to this but I've never been into the comic books). It was funny, exciting, engaging and despite the multitude of characters on show it held itself together well.
Would definetly recommend if only for Thor and his hilarious hammer spins.
! on a side note, who is the character featured in the post credits sequence?
-
Just got back from the theater.
This movie was AWESOME. I am completely satisfied with it although my expectations were really high. It definetely is the most fun of the Marvel movies.
Now i have to get some sleep … no spoilers, because i know they are tempting.! on a side note, who is the character featured in the post credits sequence?
I'll write you a PN.
-
Greatest fucking movie of my life.

I really, REALLY wish it was next Friday already. tries to fast forward the next 7 days with her remote

I beg to differ; the "Marvel Adventures: The Avengers" title series is my own personal Avengers headcanon:
!
!But yeah, I love the cartoon/movie personalities too, no doubt about that.

Whoah whoah whoah! Why is that chick's head so much bigger than Storm's? She's normal size next to Spidey on the previous page O_o

Just looked up the name of the comic. Looks like her power is to be able to grow very large.
-

That would be Janet Van Dyne, aka Giant Girl. She was created for the Marvel Adventures series and uses the same Pym Particles that Hank Pym uses to become Ant Man in the other Avengers' series (actually, Hank gave her the particles himself). Thus, she has the same ability to change her size from one extreme to the next. In that panel, she's in one of her 'above normal' body sizes.
