Alan Moore looks like Orson Welles at a death metal concert
-
Wait are those job descriptions after writer real or somebody being snarky?
-
-
Alan Moore as a mall santa:
"Sigh…what would you like for this consumerist corruption of a noble pagan ritual, you little shit?"
"I want a Batman action figure!"
"Yes and I want the entire medium of comics to disappear, but we can't get everything we want now can we?"
-
"These fucking hacks don't even know how to write anything for 10-13 year olds anymore."
writes more stories about rape, corruption and Harry Potter's dick

It's always weird to see someone rant against something that made them a success shitting on your fan/consumer base is an added bonus.

@Cyan:
Ditko has the decency to never venture out of his cave though.
When he met Ross he seemed like a nice enough guy….He just happens to fricking hate hippies, degenerates and commies:ninja:
I have often wondered how much people get out of the after the credit scenes if they're going in totally blank

Okay so I was just on Wikipedia like always and I saw that Jennifer Lawrence is playing Mystique and if a window had been conspicuously placed near my fist then I would have punched out a window just now that's all I'm saying.

I kind of lost interest after First Class happened,
and Joss Whedon took over the Marvel Universe. -
She was also in First Class.
-
And she was pretty darn good in First Class. She plays the character well.
-
If there is anything that could potentially go wrong in DoFP, I wouldn't bet money on Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.
I'd bet money on Oscar winning actress Halle Berry.I'm kidding. -
Jennifer Lawrence is great, she's the best new generation actress around. I expect great things from her.
-
She's who now? What's she been in?
-

-
I thought Jennifer Lawrence did a great job too in First Class. I think DoFP can turn out well, as long as the story can stay cohesive with the 2 timelines.
-
Jennifer Lawrence is most famous for her lead role in the Hunger Games movie franchise which, despite the current depressing expectations of young adult fiction novels, is actually a good series. She also won an oscar in "Silver Linings Playbook", where she played a mentally unstable widow dating a bi-polar divorcee.
She's a really good actress and an awesome human being in general.
-
I really like how they are promoting Days of Future Past with these websites. Quite an unusual experience. Really makes me look forward to it. Hopefully I will have a chance to see The First Class - or even the whole movie franchise - before it's out.
And Lawrence? She is good. Just not good enough to be kicking The Rock in the face.
-
Ugh. The Hunger Games was one of the worst movie going nights i've had in years.
She could be a fine actress however. Didn't really notice much in that but look what she had to work with

If you're going to watch all the movies then you should just read the Wikipedia page for X3. Ignore the first Wolverine movie entirely.

Hey if John Cena can do it why can't she :P

Thanks for the warning. So these two weren't any good eh. That's a shame. Hopefully no Gambit cameos in them. Then again now I have to finish only four films instead of six until May.
Hey if John Cena can do it why can't she :P
There is a difference.
Cena does it like an artisan, Hathaway does it like an artist, and Lawrence doesn't do it at all.'
-
Gambit has a role to play in the Wolverine flick. He's not very gambity but he's supposed to be him atleast.

You're the first person I've seen give Cena credit for anything.

Sigh. Sometimes life doesn't give you enough cajun mutants.

All I know he is a wrestler, so I called it his craft. No praise was involved.
-
What? Does Jennifer Lawrence playing Mystique upset you THAT badlly?

Don't remind me of that whole fiasco.
-
I hate Gambit and Deadpool, so their treatment in Origins was hilarious to me. Gambit was probably an improvement over his greaser faux French shtick from the comics.

Holy crap i thought you were cool!? U freaking monster!

Rhino gets a robo.
And oh boy at the middle.
-
So a Transformer is going to be in ASM 2….okay....
Is that supposed to be the Green Goblin?
-
Is that supposed to be the Green Goblin?
Yeah, I think so. One of the pictures in the upper right next to Electro (slightly above the the Spider-Man one) looks like a dead ringer of the Green Goblin from the comics. This movie poster has me worried about the plot. I'm having Spider-man 3 flash backs now.

Well, I have to come to Gambit's defense here. You're being somewhat unfair here. You realize he's Cajun right? Cajun's are descendants of French settlers who settled in Louisiana in the late 1700's/early 1800's. Cajun, which is also a dialect, derived from a mixture of of both English and French and over time some of the words and phrases have become like a slang dialect. Gambit's use of French words is perfectly warranted, there's nothing faux about it.
I hope both Gambit and Deadpool do get a better revival eventually in the movie universe. They are both favorite characters of mine, and while the Wolverine movie did show slight glimmers of their personalities from the comics, they were given the shaft in terms of plot and character execution.
-
Rhino-bot? What the hell is that supposed to be, it looks like the cat transformer that Megatron always sent out to spy.
And Deadpool has done enough good stuff to warrant my love. Even if he's probably being milked a tad too much these days
Same with Wolverine really. Gambit you can't really complain about being stuffed in every, that guy needs some love.
-

Gambit's recent solo comic series has been pretty awesome. I'm slightly behind since I read my comics with TPB, but so far the direction he's going has been interesting.
-
Spider-Man 2 keeps looking more and more awful, the more we see of it.
-
Still can't be worse than the Toby Macguire series
-
If we get another power ranger goblin… i will break something, please not again. And oh hi Rhyno robo!
-
That might not be Green Goblin. It's probably Hobgoblin. He's actually been a member of the Sinister Six and doesn't have the far more complicated story of Norman Osborne.
Also, I'm in the "thank god it's not as bad as the Toby Maguire films" boat.
-
lol @ the haters. The first two Spider-Man films are still at the top of most movie critics' top superhero movies list. That's probably because they were well crafted movies.
-
Spiderman 2 is definitely in the upper tier of superhero movies. 1 and 3 are both somewhat eh, and Amazing 1 was also pretty crappy. But hey, anything with Paul Giamatti in it has the potential to be good, so I'm optimistic.

If you feel the original Spider-Man 1 and 2 were good movies, I won't argue. But they are awful Spider-Man movies.
-Peter rarely ever uses his wits in combat.
-Peter never a cracks a single joke.
-Mary Jane is about 10000000 degrees of useless.
-The only person who LEGITIMATELY misrepresents Spider-Man in all of New York is Jonah. Everyone in New York loves Spider-Man in these movies. It completely neglects his theme of "With great power comes great responsibility", because he doesn't have to worry about half the city hating him. The only "responsibility" he has to worry about in these movies is saving lives and beating up bad guys. He's completely free of the responsibilities of being a vigilante, as no one in the police questions his motives. Spider-Man's entire central metaphor is being a lone, awkward teenager that feels like the entire world is against him even when he has the courage to press on and do the right thing. That's completely eradicated in these movies.Amazing Spider-Man is very, VERY flawed! Do not get me wrong! But I appreciate their attempt to actually follow Spider-Man's theme. I don't 'hate' Spider-Man 1 or 2, but I don't think they were good Spider-Man movies.
That said: Jonah Jameson, Miss Brant, and Doc Oc had flawless casting, and Defoe as Osborne is probably one of my guiltiest pleasures in film.
-
As far as Spider-Man not being hated by New Yorkers, I think 9/11 had something to do with that. If I recall correctly, the scene where the crowd at the bridge throws things at the Green Goblin was filmed and added after the September 11 attacks. At that time, I don't think portraying New Yorkers being apathetic or hostile toward someone who saves them would have gone over well.

MJ is entirely useless in the comics as well. She's just Peter's always in danger trophy wife who makes him feel like the big man. It's only until after OMD (lol irony) that she finally started developing as a character on her own. People's obsession with her is super creepy. I feel bad for Kirsten Dunst and Shailene Woodley that they had to deal with so much shit.
ASM had him get support from the city as well. I mean, THE big set piece of the movie was the scene where the cranes are positioned so that Spidey can swing across town.
I'll concede that Garfield is easily better than Maguire, but they barely used him. His jokes often came off as douchebag behaviour. But Garfield and Stone's scenes are the best part of the movie, btu that's more because they're great actors with great chemistry, not because they were given good stuff to work with.
The first hour of Spider-Man is also infinitely better than ASM. There's great storybuilding, Peter slowly discovering his powers, making Uncle Ben a likeable character, the scene with the robber. ASM rushed through all that and as a result you never care. Uncle Ben was almost as big an asshole as Pa Kent in MoS. Norman's crazy ass was also infinitely more entertaining than the Lizard who was a complete non-entity.
-

That'd be hella weird if that's the case as Hobgoblin was introduced after the original Green Goblin but hey Marvel's not above going outside the norm where other continuities are concerned.
If we get another power ranger goblin… i will break something, please not again. And oh hi Rhyno robo!
I think this is a hold-over from the Ultimate Comics.

That reminds of that completely pointless scene where Norman kidnapped Peter following the fight at the Daily Bugle which leads to the Police trying to arrest him the next time they see him.
-
I wish that Spider-Man 2 did to Doc Ock in the comics what Batman TAS did to Mr. Freeze.

I honestly thought that was Silver Surfer for a minute.

-I thought he used his wits plenty in his fights.
-I got plenty of that in the movies too.And yeah, you CANNOT deny that Willem Defoe and Alfred Molina are now the singular Green Goblin and Doc Oc.
