Definitely angry
Some new secret service records will be shown today
Here's one: Email message by Secret Service from Dec 11, 2020 after he lost challenge in Supreme Court
"Just fyi. POTUS is pissed - breaking news. Supreme Court denied his lawsuit. He is livid now"

FLASH: House Jan 6 Select Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney is offering a motion, for immediate consideration, to subpoena Donald Trump for documents and testimony
Two tweets later:
Resolution to subpoena Donald Trump passes unanimously
Quite a moment
To borrow a post from another forum I frequent:
It cannot be understated how big a deal Trump being subpoenaed is. It is a widely known fact among Trump's allies that he MUST NOT go under oath, under any circumstances. During his Presidency, his lawyers jumped through a lot of hoops to avoid ever being put into a position where Trump has to answer questions in person under oath.
Four years ago, Fox News literally called subpoenaing Trump a "perjury trap". That is how commonly known Trump's inability to answer questions honestly is. Sean Hannity was saying to his audience, "The crooked Democrats are conspiring to trick Trump into going under oath in order to snare him with a perjury charge once he inevitably starts lying," and nobody thought there was anything weird about that claim.
Everybody on both sides knows that if there is a way for Game Over to happen for Trump, putting him under oath and just letting him talk for five minutes might just be it. Whether its spinning provable lies or dumbassedly confessing to crimes, Trump's biggest enemy is his own mouth.
Trump's best shot is to stall long enough for the House to change parties, as it seems likely to do in midterms.

The guy whose spent two years claiming he lost an election unfairly and also has had some antisemitic moments over the years thinks the guy who thinks Jews run the world and that George Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose is off his rocker.

And using moments of genuine good leadership to excuse those corrupt positions.

So, earlier today on youtube an ad came up for Ammon "Y'all Qaeda" Bundy, who's running for Idaho governor as an Independent. First lines of the video, I kid you not: "What is it that makes California, California? Is it the drugs?"
There were probably more "Is it the ____" questions, but I hit skip at that point for my own mental health. Nevertheless, that is an exact quote.

Kim Kardashian got out of there none too soon.

I'm so disappointed in popular media right now. A celebrity like Ye say something and of course people follow up on it. This man is causing so much damage, and it's disgusting.

Kayne is a white supremacist mouth piece, I wonder what or how much his earing for his role. The only thing I can guarantee is that when they don't need him anymore, he's gonna be in some pretty dire straits.
-
Whatever it is it’s not worth all the endorsement and partnerships he’s losing.
Funnily enough Adidas which is German country hasn’t opted to cut ties with him.
Wonder why /s

Karma's a bitch, Kanye. Or rather should it be "everything has a consequence"?

They cut ties with him first thing this morning. With his comments being about 3 weeks old their time zone must be hella behind
It was just a few months ago when he accused the company of stealing his designs (which is super ironic) along with some other crazy shit.
-
We'll yesterday is the first time I heard about it, so maybe it's the first time it was reported in a way that it got to the right higher ups.
-
Kanye has also been dropped by Balenciaga, Gap, and Chase Bank (a BANK used him?!). He also lost Def Jam and CAA, one of the most powerful agencies in Hollywood.
-
Ah. It was one day ago that Kanye specifically said "I can say shit and Adidas won't do anything" and then withing 24 hours Adidas cut ties.
If he was spewing crazy nonsense three weeks ago that's just Kanye being terrible like always. Once he specifically named a company supporting him they had to cut him off.
....what does this have to do with politics?
-
kanye may be the most narcissistic person in public life lol
Yeezus is still one of the greatest albums of all time though
-
@Robby said in American Politics: A Brand New Day:

Because it involved Anti-Semitism and the effect of hate groups in the country that cause even more trouble for the government and people in general.
Could have gone in either this or Random News thread, really.

Well he’s hating on the Jews and hating on the blacks. He might run in 2024 with that behavior
His narcissism is literally the least problematic issue with his behavior, over the years.
You can be a narcissist and not offer up questionable stances about abortion’s effect on the black community, openly denigrate your wife’s romantic partners even while pretending you’ve moved on, lie about the death of George Floyd, throw in with the white lives matter movement enroute to arguing (as a black man) how unfairly hated the white man is in America.
You can also like Kanye can acknowledge you have bipolar disorder but unlike Kanye habitually disregard the problems it’s causing you personally and professionally.
-
Dare we say a true narcissist should only care about themselves and not give a damn about others, including white people?

Can't blame the disorder on this one.
Like I said, he's been running his mouth as a conservative mouthpiece to people that ignore the usual shriveled old cunts in the GOP. I don't know what he has to gain with it, at least I know Neymar is doing for tax evasion and to spite his ex, but his gonna get thrown under the bus really hard once the GOP decide to get rid of him.

I don't see how he can't realize how many fans he must be losing because of this.

@Satsuki I don't really think he cares about it.

Considering how many of them have been justifying and downplaying his behavior for years? you underestimate the shittiness of a substantial portion of his fanbase.
I’m no fan of the Kardashians but when I saw his fans talking on Twitter about how Kim trapped him into their relationship just to have kids I was so beyond disgusted.

What do you do when you can't get the politician? Get their families.

And in typical Republican fashion, they're still attacking her during this, saying they're coming for her. Blaming her for having bad security. Blaming the State of California as a Dem run hellhole therefore she caused her own family's attack, blaming Biden, blaming Biden for being "divisive" therefore causing this(fuck Republicans. Seriously fuck them all),
Meanwhile the dude had a very clear digital footprint buying into the election conspiracies, specifically a large amount of posts shared from Mike Lindell.
And as much as I think Pelosi is an AWFUL, out of touch, rich piece of shit gleefully abusing her power to profit as an Inside Trader, at the same time this comes right after video surfaced of her during January 6th. Showing that the GOP has been gaslighting the nation for almost 2 years claiming she either did nothing to stop it, or that she instructed law enforcement to stand by to purposefully make it worse for optics.
For all the GOP Senators and House members that spread these lies for 2 years, until video just a month ago shows that she was actively calling and seeking National Guard to intervene. And not only that, coordinating safety for Pence. The scumbag that still shills for people that tried to hang him.
Years of people like Trump personally attacking her, MGT and others openly calling for her to be imprisoned at the least, and outright killed at the most. And here someone acted on it. And they blame everyone else after their fantasy almost came true.

No races has been called yet and they won’t be for a while, but just some facts for your back pocket. Bill Clinton lost 54 House seats in 1994, Barack Obama lost 63 in 2010 and both went on to win re-election.
Traditionally, the party that wins the presidency loses seats in the midterms, and this has been the case for over 100 years, The exceptions being during WW2 and after 9/11. Maybe 1/6 and Roe being on the ballot will make this round a similar anomaly, but Dems losing the House or the Senate or both is normal and expected and it's what polling has suggested for months. It puts a damper on getting anything done for the next two years, but it is not the end of the world.
It sure would be nice if Beto could beat Abott in Texas, but its Texas, I'm expecting the republican to take it with a half million or a million votes over. If Beto gets 49% of the vote it'll still be half a million short. Would sure be nice to be surprised though!
-
It's midterm election night, folks! Hope all Americans out there have voted already.
Early results suggest competitive races are in fact competitive. Florida's a lost cause though, until Democrats can finally put forth a stronger candidate for state office.

We have one, at least
1st Gen Z candidate, Dem Frost wins Florida US House seat
https://news.yahoo.com/1st-gen-z-candidate-dem-191455650.html
Democrat Maxwell Alejandro Frost defeated Republican Calvin Wimbish on Tuesday for a Florida U.S. House seat, making him the first member of Generation Z to win a seat in Congress.
As of Tuesday night, most of the Florida races for the U.S. House of Representatives had gone according to prediction, including Republican Anna Paulina Luna's win against Democrat Eric Lynn in the 13th District, a St. Petersburg-based district formerly represented by Democrat Charlie Crist.
Frost, a 25-year-old gun reform and social justice activist, ran in a heavily blue Orlando-area district being relinquished by Democratic Rep. Val Demings, who challenged Republican Sen. Marco Rubio this year.
-
That's nice. But big city districts are almost always liberal, since they are the ones with most exposure to different races/cultures and ways of thinking.
I don't even live in fucking Georgia, but that's the one I'm watching closest. Because if fucking Walker wins I will lose all minuscule faith in humanity I have left.
-
I'm cautiously optimistic so far about minimizing losses. Warnock is in a close race for GA Senate but looks to be maintaining a narrow lead, and results look decent so far in PA. Also noteworthy is that the pro-choice options for amendments in Michigan and Kentucky(!) are both winning.
Also, looks like the MA governor seat just got called as a blue flip. Congrats to our nation's first openly lesbian governor!
-
Guess Georgia wants to prove that Tommy Tuberville in Alabama wasn’t an anomaly. So let’s elect another dumb as bricks football guy for elected office and other a pastor no less.
Not to mention you should’ve given up on us decades ago.
