Another new review already! Possibly the most disturbing movie he's reviewed yet. Also, be prepared to read a lot (you'll see)

I felt bad for Doug. I wonder when he'll get his voice back.
"But the sinister Culkin is not pleased."
-
i like that movie, actually. I never did think about the thin ice bit though. he has a very good point.
-
My brother told me about The Good Son a few years ago. It really shocked me to find out that Culkin played such an evil character, especially since I loved Home Alone.
Seriously, I probably would've been traumatized if I saw this movie as a kid. I know that this is the review that NC has been promising us for awhile now, and it was worth the wait. The mother really was one of the most clueless characters, and the commercial gags were hilarious.
-
That Movie oh my god its fucking wierd on so many levels a satanic kid kills a DOG!!!
A Dog!? Why would anybody kill a do…...16 Mike Vicks rotting in jail
-
WOOOOOOOOOOOOTTT!!!!!!!
No need to thank me. (Also, I had no idea Sonic was voiced by Jaleel White)
-
Great review of Sonic the Hedgehog! Even better than Super Mario Bros. Super Show. "Queen it up, Bitch!" is my new quote of the week.
Anyone else see the live donation drive? It had a lot of technical problems but it was great overall. Hope they do another one day.

That was fantastic i ove this review, and the only reason is because of Sonic, god i loves Sonic
-
where's the good sonic cartoon
edit: wholey crap is this cartoon ever annoying
…oh there's the good cartoon.
-
That was definitely one of NC's best in a while. Though, in all honesty, I'm a bit disappointed that he never referenced the infamous line, "SnooPING AS usual, I see?" Kinda weird since he still made a d*ck joke involving Robotnik.
-
@Super-Franky:

I'm more surprised he didn't go for Sonic's "If someone tries to touch you" PSA. That would've been awesome.
-
Definitely one of his funnier reviews. I cracked up.
I think my favorite parts are "Queen it up, Bitch!" and his reaction to the good Sonic cartoon after swearing to not like anything that the original crappy one spawned.
-
This had to be one of his best in some time. I was a huge Sonic fan growing up, and I have always disliked Adventures because it took Sonic and made it an unfunny Looney Toons character, however I also watched Sat AM, and I friggin' loved it. I'm glad to see him give props to that cartoon. The only thing that disappointed me about that show was that Knuckles never made it in (or did he?).
Knuckles did make it into Sonic Underground, but he was so neutered, and his love for an Erkel-sounding female hedgehog was so retarded. That whole show was retarded, I'm surprised he didn't take a swing at that show.
-
Sonic Sat AM was made before Sonic 3 was made, so there was no Knuckles yet.
-

Seriously, I was waiting for that. Maybe it's one of those moments that's too funny and bizarre that you can't really build off on it.
-
Sonic Sat AM was made before Sonic 3 was made, so there was no Knuckles yet.
Me not knowing the show was canceled yet resulted in me not putting two and two together.
-
"Adventures of Sonic" was one of those shows I watched as a kid simply because it was on, but unlike "Captain Planet" which I thought was stupid from day one, I actually enjoyed somewhat. I enjoyed it because it was Sonic in a Looney Tunes-like scenario, put two and two together and it's a simple equation for fun, but in the back of my head I could tell it was a pretty dumbed-down. To this day I don't think it's bad, I just think it's very mediocre. I get the feeling it's one of those cartoons where the animators had some good ideas for the show but they had to deal with bad ideas from the writers and the executives.
As for Sonic SatAM, it's definitely better but when I watched it with a friend recently we couldn't stop making fun of it, the main reason being we couldn't stand all those damn quippy one-liners Sonic kept making.

The Top 11 Nostalgic Mindfucks
Prepare to have your mind thoroughly fucked.
-
The bear thing is SCARY! Seriously, what is that FROM!?
-
@Dixxy:
The bear thing is SCARY! Seriously, what is that FROM!?
It says at the end of the video.
-
That bear looked a lot like the creepy one from that old British children's show Rainbow. Glad to see Grinch Night mentioned and that Raggedy Ann movie did indeed freak me out as a kid.
Although I think the works of Sally Cruikshank should have been somewhere on the list. Her stuff from Sesame Street and that animated sequence for that horrid Twilight Zone movie come to mind.
-
-
It says at the end of the video.
True, but when you get there it doesn't even say where "that" is from. Unless that dude made it himself.
-
That Willy Wonka sequence still scares me.
-
Yeah, this is another one of my favorites simply for the bizarre factor (you know, obviously) I had totally forgotten about Grinch Night and really how mindfucking his paraphernalia wagon was. I guess my mind blocked it out for a reason.
-
Recently, I've gotten into TGWTG, who I will say is INFINITELY better than the Angry Video Game Nerd that he's often compared to.
As for his newest one, I thought it was kinda weak compared to his other top 11's. Still entertaining, of course, but some of the lower ranked ones seemed more mindfuck-y than the higher ranked ones. #"1" was kinda weak compared to, say, Cool World.
-
I like this list if for nothing but the fact that he reminded me of the Beetlejuice cartoon. I LOVED this cartoon as a kid (I dressed as Lydia once for Halloween), and I had almost forgotten it.
And yes, the opening is all kinds of awesome.

The NC reviews Twister this week
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/5136-twister
JONAS!!!
-
From this day hence I shall refer to tornadoes as the Middle Finger of God.
Well, you shouldn't expect much from a disaster movie, and there we go…
-
The Burger King ran away! I couldn't stop laughing! Priceless! XD
-
"i'll get you some mc donalds"
I never got so see twister. it was nice to see this review. hilarious too.

The Nostalgia Critic reviews Garbage Pail Kids this week.
And as a bonus, here's his Bum Review of Watchmen

The ending to the GPK review was certainly wierd, yet very well deserved…

Did you ever see 2001: A Space Odyssey? But yeah, ending was great and those Garbage Pail Kids are going to haunt my dreams for the next week shudders
-
i was an 80's kid, and i don't remember this. at all. oh my god is it bad.
-
I'm aware of that movie, and I know that ending was a parody of it, but I've never actually seen it. I tend to avoid Stanley Kubrick
pointless mindfucksmovies like the cases they come in are soaked in AIDS. -

pointless mindfucksmovies like the cases they come in are soaked in AIDS.Oh, well that's a darn shame. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
-
GAH. That was a PAINFUL experience. And it's not one of his funnier ones, merely because the movie itself is so damn bad and disgusting and creepy that it really isn't funny.
I never understood GPK trading cards as a kid, and I certainly don't understand this movie. It's like some bastard cousin of Chucky.
-
Wow. Wow. WOW! I'm almost speechless. I think it's safe to say that Garbage Pail Kids has dethroned Batman & Robin as the shittiest movie Nostalgia Critic has ever reviewed. Every other review, aside from B&R, I've thought "Oh, come on, this doesn't look THAT bad." I even thought that when watching his Kazaam video. But this…
The special effects are awful, the characters are incredibly annoying, the plot is beyond stupid, and.. ugh... God... This truely is horribufuckus.
-
Agreed. Batman and Robin is terrible, but at least it's the "so bad it's funny" kind of bad (the MST3K of it is gold). If anything, I think the reason so many people hate B&R (aside from the fact that it's bad) is that it's a Batman movie. Batman movies should be GOOD.
QbrkZSFZRto
GPK, on the other hand, is so bad it isn't even remotely funny. It's just painful.
-
The NC reviews a, thankfully, much less disgusting movie this week. Rock a Doodle.
-
Oh, man. I remeber seeing Rock-A-Doodle in theaters as a kid. Like most of the movies NC reviews, I didn't remember anything about it until he mentioned it. Still, he managed to crack me up on so many parts. The highligts for me were:
-"I'm a furry!" That whole scene, and Doug's reaction to it nearly killed me. I couldn't believe that line, either.
-"Now, I'm off to go get Abe Vigoda for 'Good Burger'."He's right about Don Bluth jumping the shark with this movie. Seriously, how the hell did he go from his dark works like An American Tail, and Secret of NIMH to something so kid-friendly like this?
-
The fuck happened to Don Bluth?! It's not even about the dark-to-kid-friendly thing; how'd he go from making good animated movies to steaming horsepiles like this movie and those that came after?!
-
I'd have to agree with you Senshi and Schmeckie that Don Bluth pretty much blew it in the 90s, but I think I'm the minority that thinks that Titan A.E. (which the NC referenced) was actually really good.
Anywya, I loved how the NC made fun of the owls' gay songs. Oh, and that mindf*ck moment where they go inside the kids head.
-
Oh ya, thanks for reminding me. Titan AE and Anestasia(sp) were both good movies. The others were crap though.
I didn't know the same guy was responsible for all those.
-
Another bit I liked from the review was Doug mocking the kid's acting, and saying that he made the kid who played Anakin Skywalker look like Hayley Joel Osment. It's so true; his acting was horrible.
Looking forward to next week. I've seen part of the god-awful mess that is
! the Titanic animated movie
-
I wonder if it'll be Party Time next week...
-
I admit, I liked Rock-a-doodle as a kid, but I guess it doesn't really stand the test of time.
Although I do love Christopher Plummer as the Grand Duke. Best part of the movie. Magic breath aside, I mean.
But comparing the movie to Mad-Libs was brilliant. Cause it's true.
-
I remember Rock a Doodle of course, but I don't remember being that bad. Now that I think about it, that kid from Jerry Macquire was absolutely annoying in it.
I can't wait for next week, because it will most certainly be PARTY TIME!!!
