New video is up. This week he reviews the Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
-
i liked the zelda cartoon. T_T and that's a cool catch phrase.
i'm checking out some other vids today. i couldn't access the site either this weekend.
-
hated the zelda cartoon, barely seen any episodes though
I like the mario theme song because its so bad its funny
pretty good review this week
-
He really nailed it with that review and I'm glad he brought up that faceless guy, what the hell were the people who made this show on when they okayed that?
Probably the worst episode I saw was called "Bad Rap" which took place in Rap Land. It's as awful as it sounds.
-
Definitely my least favorite episode, not that i didn't like it, but it just wasn't too surprising. It was too obviously a dumb show and I felt there wasn't too much the Nostalgia Critic could exploit from it anyway. But this episode really makes me think of something even better, and that's an entire DiC retrospective by the Nostalgia Critic.
Also from their latest episodes I'm really starting the AVGN and NC as artistic peers. In the last CD-i episode the Angry Video Game Nerd used some of the Nostalgia Critic's editing gag techniques, where he puts clips up that show characters saying something directly related to what he just criticized. I'm seeing in this last episode NC using similar combinations of swears as the AVGN.
-
I watched the entire Zelda cartoon once. All thirteen or so episodes.
I actually kinda liked how bad it was.
-
I just started watching this guy a few days ago and I think his reviews are pretty hilarious and mostly accurate. His Batman and Robin review is my by far favorite one.
-
Doug's in a PBS commercial!
Awesome.
-
his plan has worked then. Make a website, get fans, get payed, get commercial, get tv show…get the world
-
Personally I love Nostalgia Critic; my favorite review is definitely his Tom and Jerry.
It would be his Batman and Robin review, but since I made Batman on Ice it was pretty redundant for me :P
-
I saw the pbs commercial, that's pretty awsome to get to do something like that.
Also I saw this movie yesterday that while I was watching it, I thought, "This would be the perfect movie for the Nostalgia Critic to review!"
This movie's plot is SO absurd, what I'm about to type is going to sound made-up, but I kid you not this is an actual movie:
First off the movie title is "Troll", and it was made in 1986. The movie is about this family that just moved into an apartment. The main character's sister gets kidnapped by a troll, that lives in the apartment, as soon as they move in. The dad's name happens to be (I'm serious) Harry Potter, and we find out the main character's name is Harry Potter Jr.
The troll disguises itself as the sister, and injects the neighbors with something that turns them into mini trolls, each neighbor turns into about 3-5 trolls. As the movie continues it gets even stupider. There are way too many reasons why a review of this movie would be funny. If you've seen the movie then you'll know what I'm talking about. There is a little more on the movie (and proof that it actually is one) at http://www.imdb.com/ you can type Troll in the search bar or use this link http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092115/
If you have seen it, do you think this movie would make for a funny Nostalgia Critic review?
-
tell him, not us
-
Yeah, now that I think about it, that's probably a better idea. I just thought it would be a good idea to get another person's imput.
-
The NC takes it one step further with the top 12, that's right 12, Christmas specials.
'Tis the season to be nostalgic
-
ive seen almost none of those except Grinch, Home Alone, and Scrooge
good vid. Die hard shoulda been on there "HANS!"
-
Never seen its a wonderful life? Thought that was a standard in america.
-
I'm actually more surprised that he hasn't seen Charlie Brown Christmas. It was actually a while before I saw It's a Wonderful Life.
-
i seen CBrown christmas, just not all of it. ~Yawn~
-
Fair enough.
Anyway, which version(s) of A Christmas Carol did you see? I've seen the one with George C. Scott, the one with Patrick Stewart, the Disney one, Scrooged with Billy Murray, and the Muppets was always one of my favorite takes on it.
-
Scrooge McDuck, the Muppets, and a play, and MANY cartoon specials back in the day when CN used to be good
-
and MANY cartoon specials back in the day when CN used to be good
Hmm, tell me about it.
Of course A Christmas Carol is pretty much universally known and has been told a million times. I also remember watching the Flintstones and Jetsons Christmas Carol.
-
This time he failed HARD, for not even putting "The Snowman" on that list. Should've been at the top. He probably hasn't seen it though, being american and all.
-
The Snowman? You mean Frosty?
-
No, I mean This:
-
watching it now.
i remember the snowman. ^^ your canadian, arn't you. :)
-
Thank the Lord he didnt have that awful grandma got run ova by a raindeer crap on his list…
I swear that shit comes on 10x a day, EVERYDAY
-
Well I'm Canadian, and I have no idea what that is.
-
Well I'm Canadian, and I have no idea what that is.
Then consider yourself lucky. Hell, I don't even want to get into Olive the Other Reindeer (even thought it's a very clever title).
-
Well I'm Canadian, and I have no idea what that is.
how old are you? that's pretty old too. (1982)
-
watching it now.

No I'm italian but I'm just an animation buff
"The Snowman" is English IIRC though

New video is up. This week he reviews Jingle All the Way starring "Ahnold".
Enjoy
-
Another funny video. I'm glad he chose to review Jingle All The Way. It's considered by many to be one of the most corny Christmas movies of all time.
I also remember on Conan O'brien, they fake mimicked Arnold referring to it as a drug that you inject into you blood-stream, "Augh, you must take ze Jingle all the way, on the ze streets they call it 'Jing'."
Btw, that movie was probably the final nail in the coffin of what was once Sinbad's so-called comedy career.
-
This post is deleted!
-
I always wondered why people hated Jingle all the Way… and now I know :P
I see why it's so bad, but I still find it somewhat amusing.
-
Not the NC, but ATGWTG: User edition is up, and it is f***ing hilarious! God, it's so great to hear the (hilarious) voices of the common people.
-
That was awesome! Congrats to all of those people who got in the vid! :D

that was beyond awsome. my roomate had to come ask what i was laughing at. XD

New NC video is up. Nick-N-Nick-Nick-N-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nickelodeon! Nicktoons to be precise.

Alway being associated with Doug Funny sound like it would be cruel torture for a kid growing up. I thought this review was pretty funny.
-
i was hoping i'd hear about some nick tunes that i never got to see before. :\ and how can you not have watched hey arnold.
also, why does everyone hate doug so much? i liked that show. T_T
-
My favorite out of the Nicktoons I watched growing up had to be Doug, and Rocko's Modern Life.
This review was pretty funny. The best part of it had to be his comments about Rugrats when they were talking about potty training.
-
I'm glad he chose to review these. Lately he's just been reviewing utter shit, and it kind of made it slow. I think he was a little bitter on Rugrats and Doug. Doug is corny as shit, but you can't tell me the first two seasons of Rugrats were not hysterical. And Doug wasn't even in High School, wasn't he still in elementary school?
-
he was in 3rd grade i think
i never liked Real Monsters that much or Ren and Stempy…i could never get into em like that
-
didnt they have an "uncut" Ren and Stempy on spike
-
didnt they have an "uncut" Ren and Stempy on spike
I think they did. I remember seeing it and I thought it wasn't that bad.
-

Actually, he was in 6th grade. The final episode (or at least the last one before he moved to Toon Disney) showed him "graduating" from 6th grade.
Anyway, Rocko's Modern Life was probably my favorite, followed by Ren and Stimpy. I also thought Aah! Real Monsters was pretty good. I'm probably one of the few who didn't like Rugrats that much. I think it's way overrated. Oh, and Hey Arnold was pretty good too.
-
Yeah he was 6th grade, then he went to Junior High in the next series.
-
Funny story about "Doug". When I was a kid I didn't get how Nick had full rights over one series and Disney had full rights over the other. I knew about copyright then and even as a young adult who is now more knowledgeable about how rights work I still don't get it ( I guess I'll check Wikipedia). So during summer camp when I was 10 or 11 or 12 we went to this Nickelodeon exhibit at the Radio and T.V. Museum, and this lady was giving an orientation on the history of Nickelodeon and such. So anyway during Q & A I asked about the deal was with the different "Doug" series, and she said she wasn't sure/didn't know. But looking back I have a feeling she was lying because she seemd kind of worried when I asked the question, like her body language and voice tone were saying "Oh shit, this kid knows too much".
Anyway "Ren & Stimpy" is my favorite Nicktoon and overall cartoon since forever, it's the reason I became so infatuated with cartoons. Those original two seasons are the best thing John K. has ever done, even after he's improved his drawing and animation abilities.
-
i think disney just bought the rights to it. kinda like how 4kids had the rights for OP, then Funimation bought the rights.
