Yea, Obon's August 15.
And yea, we're in that stretch of time where the speedscan of a chapter is already out, but it actually hasn't been officially released yet in Japan, so the confusion about which chapter is 'next' is kinda funny.

do we have a ticklist with all the loose ends in Bleach?
Coincidentally, I made this list yesterday of the things I remember Kubo still needs to explain. Pretty sure there a lot more out there:
What is the nature of Orihime powers? Fullbring? Something else?
What is Sado's Fullbring complete form? What is the result of his training in Hueco Mundo?
What happened to Uryu's grandmother (we didn't even got her name)?
Souken and the Wandenreich past.
What is Ururu (and Jinta?)?
Where is Kon (he was with Ichigo when Grimmjow reappeared and then just vanished)?
Who were the first 13 Captains?
What is the past of Yoruichi and Urahara (Kubo said would be shown in this last arc)?
Why Yoruichi can turn into a cat?
What is Kukaku relationship with them (they seemed to be close friends in the SS arc, but she wasn't even mentioned in TBtP)?
The last 2 of the great noble houses.
Why were the Shiba deprived of their title as one of the great noble houses?
Were Rose and Kensei also healed by Mayuri?
When/how/why Unohana went from Kenpachi to her current gentle persona?
Unohana and Kirinji past.
How Aizen and Urahara know the Soul King?
What happened to Ginrei?
Byakuya said Ichigo was the second person against whom he used Hakuteiken. Who was the first one?
What is Komamura's clan?
Komamura and Yamamoto past.
Where are Komamura and Iba?
How did Aizen approached/recruited Tousen?
Where is Mashiro?
How did Isshin knew about the Final Getsuga Tenshou?
Where is Matsumoto?
What was the thing Aizen took from Matsumoto?
What is Yachiru? If she is a zanpakutou, how she has her own Shikai?
Why Urahara facilities have so many similarities with the Royal Guard?
What is Urahara and Mayuri past?
What is Mayuri and Shutara past?
Why was Mayuri sent to Maggot's Nest?
Any background of the Royal Guard (the institution, not the individual characters).
What is the Soul King? Is it quincy? Shinigami? A hybrid? Everything? Why he doesn't have his limbs? How did it happen? Why are his limbs sentient?
What happened to Harribel?
Pesche and Dondochakka real appearances.
Grimmjow past: his flashback ended with hIm apparently devouring his Fracción, but they were alive in the present.
Who passed the Shinigami powers to Ginjou?
Who killed Quilge (obviously Grimmjow, but no confirmation so far)?
What is Yhwach motivation?
Yhwach and the Soul King past.
How was the war against the Wandenreich 1,000 years ago?
What is the whole thing with Jugram being Yhwach's "other half"? Why is it?
Okikiba Shikai.
Yoruichi Shikai.
Yoruichi Bankai.
Shinji Bankai.
Aizen Bankai.
Love Bankai.
Iba Shikai.
Hisagi Bankai.
Mashiro Shikai.
Isshin Bankai.
Nemu Shikai (she has one?).
Ukitake Bankai.
Kirinji Bankai.
Hikifune Shikai.
Hikifune Bankai.
Oetsu Shikai.
Oetsu Bankai.
Shutara Shikai.
Shutara Bankai.
Pesche Resurrección.
Dondochakka Resurrección.
Ginjou Shikai (he has/had one?).
nothing about extra pages (final rush wrap confirmed!) but he is including a color page!!!! Final chapter and it's a color page, Kubo sure does love going all out!!

- What is Yachiru? If she is a zanpakutou, how she has her own Shikai?
I'm already looking forward to the spin-off sequel 'leach'. You though you were rid of it, but it's just still there. Like a leach.
Wasn't Yhwach also conquering, or at least owning, territory on Earth? What the heck happened to shift his focus to the afterlife? And no explanation of the ramifications of such on Bleach-Earth's history and politics.
What happened to Harribel? Wasn't there a cliffhanger featuring her in chains?
What happened to Harribel? Wasn't there a cliffhanger featuring her in chains?
Haribel was just featured as a metaphor for how most plot threads are chained up and will never be shown again
I thought Mayuri was sent to the nest for a crime he had yet to comment. Kinda like the Minority Report.

Yeah, but we don't know why he was deemed dangerous to be sent there. And so dangerous that he was kept in a cell by himself while all the others could roam free inside the facilities.

The sad part is that I can totally see some fans saying this seriously.

Just think, instead of a bunch of asspull abstract power battles of "nuh-uh"/"uh-huh" seesawing back and forth between the same over-used characters hogging the spotlight over the last few years, we could have gotten actual backstory and character development to answer those questions.

Interesting, source? That'd be more evidence Bleach really was cancelled.
My personal theory is that Urahara's and Yoruichi's past consists of Yoruichi's sincere but misguided attempts to understand Urahara's Pet Play fetish until ultimately deciding she just can't go along with it.
Are we about to get a Shaman King style ending?
Followed by a return series in abotu five years where he gets a few more volumes to do it right but still mucks it up?

Urahara and Yoruichi had a big fight that ended 4 months ago. It was the perfect chance to show their past and still Kubo didn't. The cancellation has nothing to do with Kubo not showing it, it was just him being his usual self (and that goes for pretty much everything in that list, even though there are some fans trying to blame the cancellation for all the lose ends).
Still, the source are those interviews he did before the last arc started. It was published on the WSJ spanning 3 or 4 issues, but I can't find the images anymore. He announced things he would show in the last arc like Grimmjow coming back as an ally, the story behind Shunsui's pink robe, the secret behind Ichigo's birth, the secret past of Urahara and Yoruichi…

Two solid days of working on this nonstop. Hope you guys enjoy!
I read this article, but I legit paused when I saw an all Sternritter spread. I forgot about it. Why did Kubo do this. Didn't he intend to make all of them unlikable? Why would we want to see them all in one spot? Never has a spread made less sense.
Also, and I don't know if you're taking continuity corrections, but I have one! I'm pretty sure Gremmy was one of Bach's top men, but he died before all of them gathered together for the end. Askin got a last second promotion, as said by him when he appeared at the Soul King's palace. So…that makes a little more sense? Gremmy was so stupid he died before the final fight.

made my job easier, since I didn't have to copy-paste 26 pictures all at once :)

Much obliged! I mess up all the time….I guess it adds a little more logic, haha
To the brain boy. Y'know, I'm just gonna pretend that in the same hospital where Bach found As Nodt, he found some kid dying from cancer and stole his brain for lulz.

Nope, this is clearly a forced ending because of an author who abused his trust with the editors to finish the series as soon as possible. It's just going to die a miserable death.
I am curious of what Kubo will do after this or if he earned enough money to have a nice retirement.

I don't think Askin replaced Gremmy. When he saw he was promoted, he said something like "I was the only one who got promoted, huh?", suggesting more people could have joined the SS that moment, so it isn't necessarily a group of four.

Which would require some actual planning, effort and thought behind characters something that clearly goes against Kubo's lazy….. i mean writing principles.
Two hundred and five chapters of wasteful arc. Bleach is setting up a bad example so it has to be punished.

I'm expecting him to make a new manga… about fashionista with shonen elements. Maybe a fashion hero who fights against group of fashion criminals and monsters.
The protagonist of Kubo's next series will be an amorphous blob of ink fitted into skinny jeans and a casual loose tie
Would anyone really care if Kubo made a new manga? I am plenty sure Kubo might have used up all his imagination with Bleach which shows in this final arc.
I'd like to see Kubo collaborate with a writer, since the art was the one thing I consistently liked about Bleach.
I admit, I am a sucker for these Quincy Military Uniforms.
Remember when this was a story of hunting monsters ala Ghostbusters?
Kubo can draw, but he lacks any real passion, imagination, and creativity hence why his art comes off as "eye-candy" but dead.
Yeah I agree. Kubo would be great for character design but nothing more. You would have to have someone else draw backgrounds and stuff. Actually I wouldn't mind if kubo designed characters for me.
Today, some German high schoolers have come for a two-week homestay experience in Japan. I'll be helping interpret for them. Should I ask them what their Schrifts are and why their people are so cold?
His character designs are extremely repetitive with same basic facial structure.
I always loved Kubo's early colorspreads where everyone got to play dress-up.
Kubo is honestly an excellent character design when he wants to be
when there isn't sameface syndrome going around, he can actually make a cast pretty well
Am I wrong with this? We didn't see Ichigo's Bankai right? He never got to that part?
@Myu:

I have zero interest in any manga he will write himself, but if he teams up with an actual talented writer then I am willing to give it a chance. I just hope he would adapt his drawing stlyle to the new manga and make the panels not as huge and have actual detailed backgrounds and better fight choreo.

Last chapter prediction: Time skip with urahara and yoruichi having a child who is half cat and is wearing uraharas dumb hat. :ninja:

He could attempt to help Togashi with the art and reduce the hiatsuses :ninja:
Nah, sorry. I don't wanna see same face ichigos running around in my hxh. xD No but seriously his style doesn't mesh with hxh at all.
Although his empty huge white panels have a lot of space for togashis big text dumps. :ninja:
man what is going on with the latest chat how can anyone take this seriously.
How can one take the last 6 and more years of bleach seriously?:ninja:

I think Mask de Masculine was when I officially stopped taking Bleach seriously. He was way too out of place a Bleach enemy that it jarred me right out of the story.
I think I finally lost all hope for this manga when the whole deicide shenanigans began.

Mask was clearly a Stern Ritter Kubo put some thought in, opposed to others like Robert or Cang Du, and he was fun! ….the problem being that Bleach has taken itself too seriously since….the second half of Hueco Mundo/Fake Karakura?
Imo that's why all of the "comedy" this arc (training scenes, Orihime's outfit, etc.) was so freaking jarring and inorganic, opposed to the fun stuff in the first two arcs.
The last genuine mix of action and comedy that Bleach had was probably Yumichika vs. Charlotte
I miss those days

The taking itself too seriously is part of my point. Mask and his power up via cheering would've been a better fit in One Piece. In Bleach, with its serious pretty boys and comedy mostly coming on gags between action form, it was too out of place.

Yeah pretty much.
I think he would've fit the best in the beginning with Don Kanonji or something.
Mask would have been bad if he relied entirely on his comedic side like, say, Pepe. But he was one of the most threatening Sternritter of them all, killing two captains! His battle prowess worked pretty well with his personality too as he was completely into his battles and would go the extra mile to win them.

That's what assistants are for.
ANd Kubo has them… so I have no idea what they actually do.
I would assume that kubo does the most basic lineart and the assistants fill it with ink. So basically kubo as well as his assistants chill most of the week after quickly cranking out a chapter with zero backgrounds or actual greytones etc. :ninja:
I like to think he forces they to see him drawing and make notes.
