It's almost like Machop and Ralts never existed it until now.

I actually have only ever chose one water starter so not sure where you were going with that, and I didn't call anyone triggered I said there is no need be triggered, attempting to defuse someone who was taking a comment too seriously apparent by their "warning" they gave me for my opinion. I thought it was all right to share opinions without being ridiculed but I should have known better.
Sorry that it's unpopular to you but the fact that many people didn't choose popplio's line because it became s girly is just fact the same went for litten's manly final evo. I like my pocket monsters to be monster's not John Cena and the little mermaid. Everything has to be taken so seriously, even when discussing fictional characters in a video game designed for children.

Well yeah it doesn't matter if it's a game or not when you're talking about something being inferior because of "gender identity crisis." If it's a kid's game then ideally that shouldn't be an issue for anyone to care about. In the end you're just saying "I don't like girly stuff" which okay, whatever. But don't plant it as some kind of messed up disconnect where people are being misled or tricked into picking the wrong gender starter. That's pretty messed up.
-
That's been a feature of pokemon ever since genders were introduced, female bearded emboars and samurot, male curvy delphox, primarina and gardevoir.

I do like girly stuff I'm just saying I don't appreciate the idea of gearing one starter towards people that like girlish stuff and one towards macho stuff, I didn't claim popplio is inferior for it's gender identity crisis I said don't get me started on it which unfortunately too late for that. I was just saying for a little kid grabbing the cute water puppy and ending up with a mermaid or a little kitten and ending up with John Cena is just not the path I saw pokemon going down allright? I don't think its "messed up" I think it's just how they decided to do things not sure what there is to argue about besides you trying to make me look offensive when I assure I'm simply stating why many people were turned off by those Pokémon and why Rowlet reigns supreme. This is the 20th anniversary probably the most popular Pokémon will ever be again, so the focal point with sun and moon and the amount of pressure for the starters to be appealing is immense. I think they could have left out the "gearing towards macho or feminine" with the starters and been better off, but then again I love that they did it because it was unexpected. Either way topic has been beaten like a dead mudbray so I digress.

When I commented to be careful about the words you use the main goal was to point out that what you were implying with your line was disgust/distaste towards the idea of anyone or anything having a "gender identity crisis". Hence the note to be "careful with your words", because whether you like it or not that is going sound belligerent towards certain people.
That you chose to react to it defensively like it was a threat is your problem, but it would be appreciated if you didn't respond in your defense to others like it wasn't you being offensive, just you needing to "defuse" someone that didn't have to be "triggered". It's like responding "Geez, don't get so pissy" at someone and expecting them to NOT get pissed. Complaining about others ridiculing you and not accepting your voice while at the same time reducing the value of mine.

This argument is still stupid as hell. I don't remember in Generation VI people complaining about getting a knight, wizard or ninja for their final starters. Primarina is still a Sea Lion with song powers and Incineroar is still a big fighting cat that JUST HAPPENS to reminds of a mermaid or a wrestler, because at least 99% of every pokemon reminds a thing from the real world ans that was since Generation I, so nope. Pokemon NEVER had gone straight out of their intended path. It still a game about using magical monsters that fits in your magical techno balls to battle with other magical monsters that fits in other magical techno balls and that is totally okay for some reason.
-
I don't even care about the argument anymore. I'm happy as it is with people realizing how patronizing it is to respond to others with the last line being "don't get triggered". It's reductive to the conversation to imply someone else's question or view is just an irrational, emotional response.
-
Every game should just hand you a pikachu and be done with it.
-
Anyone whose response includes the phrase "don't be triggered" should be immediately discredited.
You don't get to decide that something you said wasn't offensive to some people when it clearly was.

Now THAT would actually trigger me :ninja:

Can I have a Mimikyu instead? I love that little guy :3

If you are going to misquote someone then you should be immediately discredited. If my view offends you that much I'm sorry.
I know now to not use the word trigger in any sense because apparently it causes emotional responses not having anything to do with the topic being discussed. -

Below Average addressed me so I responded. You don't control my opinions or my responses no matter how triggered you are. I never had a problem with you you're just overreacting like I knew was going to happen hence why I said no need to get all triggered in the first place.
-
Lol, right. Another one to the ignore pile. No point in trying to converse with someone whose response to being told he's being offensive is to be more offensive.
Now hopefully we can go back to good topics, like how Busted :U Mimikyu is.

I don't want any more of this shit, I don't care how offended you are, it really doesn't seem to be warranted. So maybe grow a thicker skin, or I may have to take action. I'm sorry we aren't coddling you, but if you're gonna raise a point in discussion, we'll discuss it and we expect you to handle that with some level of maturity, instead of just lashing out at anyone who questions the views you put forth.
Now please, let's get back to discussing pokemon like grown humans.
Does anyone happen to know how much the lunches at Battle Table in the Festival Plaza raise EVs by? I'm trying to figure out the laziest ways to EV train, and I can't find a source on that, haha.
-

I don't think it's an overreaction; I think you truly do not understand that you have been acting out of line. But now it's truly getting personal and way off-topic, so both you and Noqanky, and everyone else for that matter, please move on or take it somewhere private.
-
Obtain pokerus, power items and then battle a chain of pokemon with your desired EV output. Long setup due to getting power items, but stupid fast once you have them.
Least involved is leaving them in Isle Evelup for like three days per stat or something like that? Takes long but you do very little.
Then there's old school mode of combo of drugs, festival Plaza stuff and fighting wild pokemon, which is costlier and can take longer depending on the assets you have.
Btw, I do have the battle table restaurant. Takes like 10-20 FC but I haven't seen anywhere what the actual EV gain is. -

Find a Pokémon that has the effort value you want, use an adrenaline orb and a false swiper and just keep chaining the call for help pokemon. It sounds slow but it's not. You're getting exp and maxing out an EV quickly especially when combined with macho brace. Not to mention chains can bring out hidden ability Pokémon and shinnies.
-
Just avoid chaining pokemon that summon allies of different species since it will screw up your EVs. And some evolved forms grant different EVs as well.
-
Well, Lusamine was . . . . . interesting.
! Nothing like an evil mother for a villainess.
-
Ah man, I didn't realize that Bruxish was part-Psychic and accidentally one-shot the one I was trying to catch.
-
Wow… I ever would have thought the Gen 5 ice creme Pokemon line would be in such decently high demand on GTS. Getting alot of things I'm too lazy to search for myself.
Bless Gamefreak for making the thing so convoluted and difficult to encounter.
-
Dammit, I hate the ice cream ice pokemon. They were stupid, yet they were stronger than the freaking polar bear.
-
I love them tbh(in a Dragon Quest goofy sense), though I never used them since the games never seem to sell me on ice types. The polar bear atleast had more bulk and wider movepool to make it "usable" compared to Vanilluxe.
-
I was able to successfully use Vanilluxe in Y, definitely liked it and it's grown on me since then. Glad they gave it Snow Warning this gen.
-
It bothers me how people dislike the vanillite line (except the last one, haven't liked the "grows new head!!" evolution ever) and with the same breath praise the magestic and beautiful designs of wheezing, magneton, grimer, muk (clasic versions), voltorb and electrode.
But yeah, with pokemon we have gotten very little "elemental" beings, as in being actualy made of their element, slugma line, geodude line, cabrink, rogenrolla, castform kind of, the ghost to a certain extent but mostly rotom and spiritomb, and now kind of marshadow. I think that Spewdew or whatever is called, the other water bug, i think this is the first time water has been in a pokemon design.
-
I've started mid third island to just use three of my main team. The three other spots are two Pokemon I want to evolve for the dex plus my shiny hunter Smeargle for leveling up
-
I just got banned for trading due to a GTS connection error for the second time in 3 hours. I will have spent two of the last three hours banned.
Fuck you Gamefreak.
-
My only issue with the Vanillite line as it stands since post Gen 6, is just the really lazy animation on its model. Kinda missed how animated it was back in BW with the shivering/arms moving and cold breath. It just… floats there and looks like a dead toy dangling from a string held by the most laziest puppeteer. I'm kinda wondering how many more games before they update the some of the older models to have more movement/personality. Probably never since it's cheaper, but they did go through the effort of overhauling the attack animations to look more vibrant/colorful/impactful and straight up better this time.

105 hours and I finally beat the game :~
My team of 10 was all on level 55 and I decided to take Butterfree, Drampa, Golisopod, Ribombee, Incineroar and Crabominable to face the Elite Four, leaving Lurantis, Marowak, Golem and Mudsdale for the second try.
My picks were SO wrong…
! - Hala was as easy as I was expecting to be, still the fact I couldn't defeat his whole team with a single Pokémon stood out to me since that how I dealt with the whole Elite in X.
! - Then Olivia. I knew this one would be harder because I had three bugs and a fire type in my team, meaning only 2 were not weak against rock. The fight was much harder than I expected, though, two in my team were taken out and other two were left on red. I was planning to not use healing items until it was time to fight the Champion (or whoever took its place), but I instantly realized that couldn't be done and had to restore my team.
! - Now Nanu… oh, Acerola? Ok, I suppose it makes sense Nanu refused to be part of the Elite. So that symbol on the door stood for Ghost, ok. The fight was not hard, Incineroar did most the job here.
! - And finally my dear Hapu. Wait. That symbol is not Ground. That's not Ground. Oh, shit, this symbol is what I think it is? Yep, it's flying...
! So, I had three bugs and a fighting type in my team. The only move I had that was super effective against Flying was Crabominable Icehammer (problem is, it is slow enough to be killed by anything in Kahili's team before it gets a chance to use it). I was really nervous because I KNEW my team was not prepared for this and on top of it I decided to only save after the fourth fight, so if I lose I need to start it all over again.
And this is how my team was after the fight:
Did you know Spikes stack? 'Cause I didn't.
! - When I defeated Kahili, I relaxed, the worst part was over. Saved, healed everyone, restored PPs and went to fight the 5th person. It was Kukui. Ok, I was expecting something like Diantha fight where I used each of my pokémon against one of her just to feel like everyone was part of it (and all my pokémon would kill their enemy in her party with one of two attacks).
But I was defeated (OMG! CHALLENGE!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!! :D)
Then I reseted. And was defeated again. (Wow, real challenge… but ok, I'm excited :D I still don't know who his 6th Pokémon is, though)
Third time's the cha... oh no, defeated again. F***** stealth rock (... :| I'm starting to hate my team)
Fourth! HA!!! TAKE IT, KUKUI!!! I'M SUPERIOR!!! ignore the fact I got lucky Ribombee actually toughed out three rounds he should be killed, please
! Not giving up on Crabrawler was the right thing to do: Crabominable ended up being the one defeating Kahili's Toucannon and Kukui last two Pokémon (Magnezone and Snorlax). So, yeah, I had a hard time in the final fights. The kind of hard time I never expected to have in pokémon… EVER!
I had decide to not use Z-moves, though, so I made the fights a bit harder than they should be.And to crown it all, when I was sad that even with +100 hours I didn't met a single shiny while everyone was finding them, a shiny Trumbeak appeared soon after I entered Poni Grove ("This Trumbeak looks cute… OMGASHINY!")

Up to island 4 (the ruins)
! The whole showdown with Lusamine had me at the edge of my seat - confirmation that she, Lillie, and Gladion are related and her intentions and twisted idea of preserving and loving her pokemon coming into play. My only gripe was that it downplayed Guzma as a character in all of this, but the subtle characterizations are still there (him sharing a past with Kukui, not being able to be a captain, First Impression feels like a proto Bug Z-move, etc.) and the game isn't quite over yet.
! With EXP. share but juggling nine pokemon, I was equal to Lusamine's team. Not too scary, but like Nanu she had smart AI with switching out, and she's not a pushover. Towards the end was a hoot because it boiled down to Decidueye vs. Bewear….Hammer Arm and Take Down had no effect b/c Ghost, so all it could do was spam Baby Doll Eyes.
! She and Guzma escape, and the Ultra Beasts are abound. But Lillie with a new resolve (and cute af look) continues on with us.
! Considering I thought Hapu was the hakuna of island 3, her being the other island's hakuna wasn't that surprising. Although her taking up the mantle in her grandfather's stead was a neat little touch. Man I love these characters.Guess I can take it a little easy and search for some more pokemon.
EDIT:
@Noqanky:Now THAT would actually trigger me :ninja:
Don't be silly Noqanky, we all know you have a secret collection of Pikachu merch under your bed.:ninja::ninja::ninja:
Now hopefully we can go back to good topics, like how Busted :U Mimikyu is.
This a reaction face or a symbol for some specific build?

Only to be turned into homemade Mimikyu merch.

Man, screw these encounter rates, it took like 3000 years to a Mimikyu to show up.

Level Island Evelup to the max and you can train an stats up to 252 EV with 63 training sessions (it would normally take 31:30 hours for them to be over, but if you leave Poké Beans there, you can cut it in half - 15:45) and you can have up to 18 pokémon training at the same time.
tl;rd in poké pelago you can train one stat up to 252 EV in 18 Pokémon at the same time in less than 16 hours without moving a finger.

Yeah, I've started using that since my post there, haha. It's a pretty great thing, especially since right now I don't have the time to go for more active solutions. I'm still wondering about the plaza stuff, though, since I know there are some things that can max out an EV directly, and that there are a lot of things that reliably get you part of the way, which is good if you're not maxing a stat.
Oh yeah, here's another general question. I've never really done the Battle Towers and stuff, so I'm curious, how do they measure your stats? They even out your dudes to 50, but does that mean they just predict what stats you'd have at that level with given EVs and IVs?
-
This post is deleted!
-
Could predict or calculate it yourself using a calculator. As long as you know or have an idea what your IVs and EVs are, you should not worry about it too much. It all evens out.
-
Well, that's it. Finished the game and became League Champion.
Final team was:
! Decidueye - lvl. 64
Vikavolt - lvl. 63
Crabominable - lvl. 62
Salazzle - lvl. 62
Mudsdale - lvl. 62
Solgaleo - lvl. 60
Now to complete the Pokedex -
Finally on the third island. Been busy, taking it slow, keeping pace with my wife and my best friend, who are also busy. Wife is doing an all fish team (which is sort of segueing into an all water team, since it now has Gyrados and Vaporeon). She hasn't played since SOul Silver so even a lot of the old mons are brand new to her, which is fun to watch. And my friend is doing a all bug/grass team… which means she's taing some of the things I wanted to use, including Wimpod and Mareanie. But its best, all the stuff gets to be used.
Team seems to have pretty much stabilized. Everything has finally evolved. Type coverage isn't quite there (I'd like to get a dark type in but apparently there aren't any new ones this gen aside from legends and the final form of fire starter) but I like what I have and I'm finding it harder to switch things out. Would also like to get in a flying Raichu but with Togedamaru there's just no competing for space there. Only one electric rodent at a time.
Though I just found a koala things that's super cute! No idea where I'd put it though.
Current team
! Skadi Kaldr Amaterasu
! Draco Malfoy Applejack Sylvanus
! Rotating
! Arachne Nox Scylla
Kumbhakarna -
sigh Why is it every time I go to my Plaza I'm being visited by "Dickbutt" and "Alien Fetus"? Honestly.
Oh, but I added my info to the list.
-
Well, after 101 hours I have a completed Pokédex. Of course I wasn't doing that non-stop or I'd have finished sooner. I also got all the Zygarde cells, a bunch of BP, did some breeding, etc. But now my goal is raising up a second team with perfect stats and also some shinies.
-
My dex is at 54% and I'm at the beginning of the third island.
-
I'm just ultrabeast and high end legendaries away for full dex.
I still think that ice should get either a couple more resistances and a type passive, like grass immunity to dust moves, fire and electric immunity to burn and paralysis respectively, or toxic boosted acuracy for poison types.
They weren't afraid to add an non intuitive mechanic with dark immunity to prankster.
Give them something like dragonite's HA, first super effective hit/super effective hits at full health deal half/"normal" damage.
Or something offensive, like boost chance of freezing but the victim gets unfrozen on switch.
-
Yeah. I just need to legendaries on my end to finish the dexter too.
Honestly I was thinking of closing shop after all of this, but I kinda want to do the 50 battles in a row thing at Battle Tree. Solely to unlock "that pose", but that would probally take another 50 or so hours to put preparation in. Geez. I swear no other Pokemon game has given me much motivation or a simple but neat reason to go back to the "completionists habbits" that I thought I grew out of a long time ago.
-
At this point, with the inclusion of so many stone evolutions why only the original four can be buy able and yet you need go trough so much crap to get more of one type of the other stones.:getlost:
