Hey it's out. Thanks greg,
https://one-piece.com/special/greg/detail/20171206_0837.html?l=en
Hey Greg, just wanted to let you know I got my subscription back. I had been dealing with Heart and Liver problems in the last year and a half, so I had to focus more about life and such. Since I now have the chance to support Oda(One Piece) and other SJ series, then I'm glad to help.
First of all, without getting too personal, it's always good to hear that fans are staying happy and healthy. I hope whatever issues you've had, you've gotten the help you needed or that was available.
Second, I don't want anyone to think people like myself (those trying to get out the word about why it's important to support the legal release) are out there to shame you for how you privately enjoy manga.
It's one thing to *understand that you are supporting an illegal source and doing it quietly without disturbing others that don't enjoy it that way while keeping your discussion within a community that is non-commercial.
If one fits the above conditions and leads an unimpeded lifestyle which allows them to support the official source I don't think anyone can blame someone for what they do privately.
When I point a finger, it's at:
-Those lying to others and themselves about whether or not they can support the official release.
-Those who are looked up to by others and have a responsibility to set an example for others.
-(some like to point a finger at me over this and while I will not discuss how I read OP, I do not read OP through scanlations and my commentary on chapters are limited to a tightly-knit and non-advertised, non-commercialized board which does not promote my commentary on chapters before the official release)
-Those who are profiting from scanlations and putting their own goals or aspirations above those of the author's characters. This is a concept even the authors practice. The stars are the characters, not the people you see on YouTube. In fact, my face used to be plastered all over the One Piece homepage (more than it currently is) but I asked them to reduce it because fans should be visiting the site to enjoy the series, not an advertisement for me.
And when I do point a finger, I don't intend that to be like a parent figure nagging, "You shouldn't do that!" Rather I intend it to be something for others to look at, observe and judge on their own standards.
So if I made you feel insecure I apologize for that.
I hope you understand I'm not aiming at individuals in your situation, but those who fit the above descriptions.

Not too long ago I discussed it with one of the users here, and they brought the fact X Drake, read as Diez Drake probably points to him being a tier below the calamities. X is 10 in roman numerals, and diez is 10 in Spanish. 10 is right below Jack. I can't remember who it was, but the evidence is rather compelling.
Especially if Drake is set up to turn against Kaido. Losing one of the Calamities would be too big of a blow. And this way, there would be plenty of boss figures to go around.
Sure, and that would be a nice fit.
I mean, we haven't seen evidence of Drake carrying himself like a calamity.
But then again, maybe that's what Oda wants us to think.
Whether he is or isn't, I strongly feel that like ALL members of the Supernovas, Drake'll be on Luffy's side when all is said and done.

If I'd do a "fanimation", where I'd use Moria and/or Mihawk in a OP-parody, just drawing and animating all by myself without using any official stuff from the manga or Anime, would that be OK, if it is non-Profit?
If your work became popular enough and used licensed sound samplings and could be mistaken for the original product….
Toei might be able to lower a complaint.
But....if the work is in fact all your own (or royalty-free material) and does not claim official affiliation and could not be mistaken for the official product, I strongly believe YouTube would back your claim to originality.

There is no way Drake is simply going to be a loyal minion of Kaido. I will literally bet to change my avator and/or sig on that notion that he will be at Luffy's side at the end of the arc.

No I completely understand and agree with your reasoning. Just wanted to shout out my support to One Piece and other SJ series in my own way. I admit I do read the early scans, but I've always made sure to support the series one way or another. I'd also love to spread the word about officially supporting it. Anyways keep up the good work.
Also, I'm a free man from a health standpoint, so I'm pretty good!
That last bit makes me the happiest. Congrats!

I dont know about Roar of the Sea though, he might try to flip after the situations turn in the strawhats favor and get stomped on or something, I dont want all the supernovas to be there and be "good guys" or at least good like how oda portrayed bege

Iunno mate.
If that's what you're hoping for might wanna strap on some 'Disappoint' pants.
Pretty much everyone is lining up to be sympathetic.
Bege is devoted to Chiffon who will do her damndest keep him in line. Not to mention, if she's put in danger and the Strawhats rescue her when Bege can't, he's putty in their hands.
Apoo we have no idea if he's:
-always been with Kaido
-flipped at the meeting
-is trying to save his own skin
Kidd is in seemingly dire straits (although this could be a plan of his)
Drake seems like the misunderstood villain who's trying to do right.
Bonney is…whatever she is.
Urouge could VERY WELL show up this arc being tied to Mom and such. That's still not impossible.
Hawkins will follow fate.
Volume 51 man, Luffy's backup.

Not much to add than has already been said (because you said it so well), but I share this perspective as well and I think it's an honest–healthy--one for a fan community to cultivate.
It's difficult to dispute that scans haven't broadened the audience for manga internationally, and I think a lot of publishers have evolved necessarily to meet that passion.
So now that there are legitimate channels to directly support these works, I hope we can be more honest about where and whether there's a will, since there's a way.
As always, your conscientiousness (and contributions here & elsewhere) are much appreciated.
I feel like Drake is an undercover agent for the WG/Marines. Working hard to wash himself from his father's sins. To prove that he's better.
His father's past could have been used to convince any pirate that he has legit betrayed WG. Plus, he seemed to know more about PX than your average marine.
Wow, Greg… I didn't even notice that wrapped up top-decoration Piece of the cake and I usually look at and catch such Details. If it is not a usual bride-groom-pair, but sth. special, it could (or should) be Mother Carmel. Though I got no idea how Sanji could made a model of her, cause he can't know how she Looks. Pudding or Chiffon could look at that photo on recent tea parties though.
And Razh, that Drake = 10 Thing sounds interesting as well. Ginrummy is also a name for some Kind of (Card?-)game. But usually 10 is below Jack. Only (tiny) flaw: Drake had all those nicknames before he joined Kaidou...
That's very kind Silence, thanks a bunch. It's an important topic and I don't want to treat it rashly or too timidly.

Volume 51 man, Luffy's backup. You know, there is another hint, that each SN will (even if not joining the SH-fleet in the end) backstab his/her Yonkou: they all went to MF-Waters after the summit war and most of 'em witnessed how BB killed WB. So, for them, getting rid of Yonkou within the Yonkou’s crew seems to be quite the good strategy (at least for Bege, Drake/Apoo).

I mean maybe it can be Mother Carmel to help attract her to the cake, but will she even eat it if that's the case?
Or will eating it and seeing her eat it cause her to remember.
Hey Gregg sorry if you've already covered this but I am a bit curious what your opinion is on the following subject
http://kissmanga.com/Manga/One-Piece-Digital-Colored-Comics/Chapter-561?id=328801#5
In this panel we see Luffy avoid having his arms chopped off by recognizing it will happen after Mihwaks intense stare shows his intent. From what we know about CoO the stronger the intent to kill is the easier it is to predict the attack so myself and many other readers take this as an example of obersvation haki in the form of Luffy sensing what will happen and then dodging. Others seem extremely adamant that haki has nothing to do with this and it's just Luffy's common sense kicking in. What are your thoughts on this? Is it CoO? Is it a slight look into the future others are saying is foreshadowing to his current battle and attempts to see the future?

I am not Greg but that scene is another case of Luffy awakening a certain color. CoC is obvious, so no need to cover that, CoA was hinted at by Blackbeard two times regarding Luffy punching, first in Jaya and then when Luffy punched BB himself, saying that Luffy increased his Haki substantially. And that scene with Mihawk was Luffy awakening his CoO.
Greg I always wanted to ask you about Kaido's title. Some say it isn't as legit as WB's or Mihawk's because it wasn't given to him in an infobox like it was given for the others. Many imply that's Oda on purpose made it that way so that Kaido won't outright be the strongest in the series. What's your take on this ?
The only thing it might indicate is that Oda doesn't count him as fully revealed yet. I know that sounds ridiculous but when we start applying rules to things that Oda either sometimes forgets or doesn't exactly have a strict policy on, things can get messy. It's an interesting point, to be sure! But I wouldn't put stock in it.

Thanks for your answer! Well, I'd do it in a style that shouldn't be mistaken for the official product and I know one must be very cautious with sounds. The only sfx I WOULD LIKE to use is that doooiiinnng Sound, but I guess it is better to somehow "home-make" it with kitchen-material like spoons and a metal pot.
Hey Greg (new on forum). I was wondering about whitebeard vs gol d Roger.
They both should have been on the better side of pirates so why would they fight each other? I have a speculation for that .
Maybe they fought over a devil fruit ? we know about Rogers health issues . Two fruits that could have saved roger were laws and Marcos.
(I know it sounds like a fiction) there are many good Flashback opportunities. For example ,island where roger and whitebeard fought got destroyed. All civilians died because of destruction.
Except one boy how was badly injured. That boy was Marco and whitebeard and roger gave him that fruit. (It really is a fan fiction )
Greg, what's your take on Zeus?Do you think there is a chance that Luffy will ride him while fighting Kaido?
Greg, what's your take on Zeus?Do you think there is a chance that Luffy will ride him while fighting Kaido?
Naw, if Zeus sticks around Nami is going to be Sun Wukong. The extending pole, the illusion copying powers, it's her.
Luffy can fight Kaidou riding on Momo, though.
And luffy can fly by himself as well, I mean yeah mom would help him but would you really want an 8 year old heir to your clan almost within kaido's grasp. Like could you see any of his 3 dads, inu or neko being like yeah thats a good idea, I mean momo could die from 1 kaido punch

True enough, but Luffy seems to get what he wants most of the time….so i think he will ride Zeus one way or other.

You say this like Momo is going to want permission instead of doing whatever he wants as a rebellious brat following his conscience to help his friends.

Depends on if Luffy will care to ask. He also already rode Momo once in Punk Hazard.

Luffy already asked Zeus to let him ride….
He did? I barely remembered anything about that conversation besides dominatrix Nami. And even so, Zeus is prioritized as an accessory to Nami exclusively.
This does make me wonder how big Zeus will become if he joins Nami permanently. I have a feeling he will stay as small as he is now, but can maybe grow big enough for one person to ride him like Goku's flying cloud Nimbus. And I only see him being obedient to Nami.
Isn't BM the only one that can ride Zeus?
Isn't BM the only one that can ride Zeus?
Why would BM be the only one that can ride him?
@uniaka:

No idea, but that's precisely what Zeus said earlier in the arc when the Straw Hats asked if they can ride him.
@Count:

Anyway, the point of zeus is that he is not reliable if nami managed to control him twice against big mom herself, so it doesn't count what he said. He is not loyal to bm.
@uniaka:
Why would BM be the only one that can ride him?
Same reason she ride Prometheus. It's her soul. I mean there's no reason for anyone to be able to ride a cloud or fire.
Same reason she ride Prometheus. It's her soul. I mean there's no reason for anyone to be able to ride a cloud or fire.
It's not only her soul representation, they are actual fire and cloud. So if one can ride it, why not everyone.
As in bm riding zeus is more likely to be based on how skyislands work rather then something new related to bm only.
Only who is pure of heart can ride the flying nimbus. Deep in her heart Linlin just is this pure and innocent child, and whereas some selected few may also be pure, definitely not everyone can ride.

BM's zeus is thor's hammer all over again.

I like it.
Nami sometimes is quite mischievous, besides, pre TS she had the Waver, now she needs to be faster, Zeus might be right… now that Big Mom doesn't control her homies, is fine.

Her sun is not made from the sun so I'm not sure why you think her cloud is made from cloud especially that rare cloud. Second we saw someone else try to ride it and failed. And we never saw such a thing as tangible fire and yet she rides the fire homie also.
Why everyone else can't and she can? Because they are made from a soul making them connected. That's the difference between Big Mom and everyone. The homies are fueled by her soul.
Greg is currently doing a live stream/chat on his YouTube channel & he's answering questions from the chat.
[ETA] He's had the description as "This video will not be archived." so if you missed it, you missed it.

Yeppers, Saiyuuki.
Um, whether she gets all of Zeus or a chunk of Zeus is still a different story but yeah, pretty sure she's walking away with something.
Also, sure, Luffy could ride! Buuuut Wano should be her chance to use it and shine. Luffy has Momo.
[new forumer] well I've finally caught up with this thread…took a while. I do wonder if Oda has something specific (doctor-related) for Chopper in mind in this arc or if he's saving it for later. Punk Hazard had a bit of doctor-chopper but I'd say Law stole his thunder there.
Could be!
If Chopper cure's Mom's illness, dang! That's a life-long debt there.
But Sanji stands a chance of that too. It could go any which way but he could potentially satiate her for life.
…..or make the cravings worse lol
Either way, Roger was sick, WB was sick, Luffy's life-span has been shortened and he may get sick too.
That'll be a job for Chopper so something to look forward to.
I would quite enjoy Chopper curing Big Mom. Showing how great of a doctor he is and giving some important accomplishment in the field.
The miracle cure of Insulin. :ninja:
Chopper being set up to cure Luffy's life-sapping disease is great but I do wish he gets time to work his skills before the main event….Chopper curing BM would be nice to see and I trust Oda if he wants to include it but we've got no exposition on it at all so I cannot see it happening.
Unlike in Punk Hazard where Chopper was central to find the cure but then Law swooped in....I always found that a tad bit odd. Almost like Oda changed his mind midway...
I feel it was all for that joke. Which would be kind of disappointing tbh if oda switched up such a nice resolution for a joke making light of chopper. Though maybe he doesnt want to have chopper solve more than the disease luffy has because he feels kids would get sick of hearing about doctoring. But this is also the guy who threw in a ton of nautical knowledge in the descent to fishman island so I dont know.

Well, conventional treatment to detox the kids of basically what was a meth addiction would have taken too long. That and since this was Punk Hazard, it was in the season of Law as a character being pushed almost obnoxiously to the forefront, like Sabo was in Dressrosa.
@S.C.:

Uhhh idk if I agree with that, sabo was prevalent whenever he showed up but there wasa ton of space where he wasnt there, law had a monopoly on PH

I realise that Law's powers were more suited but the whole 'Chopper looking for the drug to make and anti-drug' sub-plot was completely wasted :/ I don't think Sabo was pushed to the forefront like Law was. Another focus-switch that happened in PH was with Robin and Ussop (the seastone cuffs).

I don't think Luffy has a life-sapping disease. What Ivankov did it was to stymulate Luffy's body with hormones to make it so he could get cured from Magellan's poison that cost him 10 years of Lifespan.

I simplified it to make it easier but it's not really a disease as much as a reoccurring theme with Luffy since Gear 2. His moves are taxing on his body and Iva's hormones took off a decade from his life so many of us agree/assume that it will come back to bite Luffy in the form of a dramatic 'close to death' scene where Chopper will have to find a cure for Luffy. As far as I've seen, Oda isn't one for cheap hype; he wouldn't bring up time and time again how taxing Luffy's moves are on his body unless he plans to do more with it.
