I actually thought the chapter was fine.
I guess at that point it is establish that Law's stamina is a problem only when Oda feel like it and the guy won't quit expect when Knock out? I don't care that the fight is over. Law should have been KO by that point or at least too shitty condition to make a room that big.
I'm pretty pissed at how Cavendish didn't get a more active role in thee climax. If at least he was busy I could understand but mister OP felt it was too much to ask.

Rebecca crying on Luffy is way too weird for my taste. Well at least with everyone crayon she can really feel at home now.
For me the fight is not over. Dofla is not the kind of villain who will lay down there. He will rise and fight again. Luffy destroyed his eyeglasses and maybe for him is likd if u destroy the strawhat for luffy. Dofla will go rampage now and mansherry will heal luffy and lae to fight him again

We've had this kind of "oh now things will definitely happen" for the past 200 chapters. It's kind of starting to get to me.
Well, with OP it's always been the travel rather than the goal. Things have happened, definitely, although I understand people's impatience. Some will be disappointed no matter what. For me, as long as it makes me burst in laughter, or get super sad, or feel anger, and be surprised every now and then, I'll be happy. This arc was loooong, but it introduced great characters and Oda has stated over and over that these events will be world changing, so I can't complain.

This chapter was just quickly thrown together what seems like with no effort to make it interesting. I don't think it'll be better in the marathon form either. Nothing new that we couldn't infer on our own happened this chapter.
Law will probably have a delayed reaction and either react next chapter or whenever luffy awakens.
Oh and am I the only one who thought luffy getting tears all over his face panels looked… Er...
I think the main problem with dressrosa arc was not its length or the fight scene or the scenario it was because of the "HYPE" Doffy was always overhyped that we expect too much of him and his crew than what we actually get. So thats why this arc come out as rushed or short with so many side characters included that also add to its shortcoming i guess
I wonder what the consequences of Flamingo losing will be? Is he still in the Shichbukai? What are the World Nobles gonna do with him now he's been defeated? .

Yes she bought Luffy food and was a friend, but at that point Luffy was not planning on fighting Mingo. The plan was to blow up factory and leave. Mera Mera was a distraction. The game changed when Mingo emptied the glock in Laws chest. Still the plan was to rescue Law and then Birdcage. There was no option at that point but to beat Mingo up.
Nothing to do with food.
Luffy in the very first chapter of the arc said on Doffy through the Den Den Mushi that if he do something like the Kids on PH again he will kick his ass
He also made lot of comments and angry faces when he learn about the victims of DD on Corrida, about the shadow past, the toys, when Law got the bullets even after that when after he saved Law wants to go again up to new palace and kick Doula's ass
The final drop on the class of water was the Bellamy one

If you thought this chapter was thrown together with no effort, you have no appreciation for art or story-telling. While short of content, you can tell Oda put in a lot of effort in how he planned the layout of the panels, the flow of the chapter, interesting things like Rebecca covering Luffy with her tears or Kyros finding a place to cry, the way Oda weaved present and past to make us perfectly understand the plights of these characters. Stop being spoiled.
Also you can't predict what the next few chapters are going to be. I suspect a lot of post-arc, world changing developments. One chapter where the characters show their humanity is perfectly fine.
Crying again all that seems to happen in this manga now.

You're probably right, actually. I still felt nothing for the characters' victory this chapter, though. I can't think of what else could've been done with this chapter, but probably condense it down by about half or even more. In the previous arcs we didn't have a whole chapter dedicated to just cheering after the Big Bad's down. So maybe Oda thought it was necessary because the arc was so massive, but I just found it repetitive and obnoxious at this point.

You can infer many things but people like seeing it.

They've been pushing the cage for a month+. A volume is about 10 chapters so it's about half the volume's length. In fact it started in chapter 786 basically and ended with this chapter so that makes about 5 chapters of this crap. The first few chapters had a couple of cool moments and I liked last chapter, but the cage-pushing has been one of the frustrating and boring things to read.
I feel like in previous arcs this kind of thing didn't take up a whole chapter and if it did it didn't come across as so standard and boring.

good to see every bodies reactions but this was just 14 pages of crying. Meh, 4/10 for me. now hopefully next week we get law's reaction and find out more about issho's motives.

I think its just the lenght of the arc, I want this ti end by yes I realize this isn't new.
Decent chapter, and hopefully next one will focus on Law and Doffy.

A more exact phrasing would probably be that it feels directionless because of the dragging to me and I'm really scared about the quality of the next arc because of it. I want it to finally be a really great arc, but after 200 chapters of rather flawed and clunky storytelling I'm not sure One Piece can deliver a purely great arc anymore.
I'm not also saying this is not Oda's style - this is very much a One Piece arc end, I just think it's very boring and makes me feel nothing but happiness that the arc's finally over. All of the big arcs which are often also criticized for pacing ended on a very satisfactory note to me. Skypiea, Alabasta, Enies Lobby had great finales and they didn't have chapter-long speeches about how awesome the main character is in an attempt to give it some more weight.

I can understand if you are talking about his crew, even though they were defeated by a set of new warriors that we really know how good really are in the grand scheme of things, but Doffy was an absolute beast… he went well over any expectations I had about him.

I agree. The crew complaints I can see, even though I think they were much more competent than people give them credit for. Kyros was evidently enormously strong, Sai grew up during his last fight to the point of surpassing Chinjao, a 500M bounty head, and Barto and Cavendish are obviously supposed to be big players. We had no previous indication of how strong these guys were, true, but I think Oda made a big enough effort so we could gauge their real worth with what we had, be it little or enough (Barto winning Block B and defeating a vice admiral, Cavendish having his Hakuba side personality wipe out the entirety of Block D, seeing Chinjao be a pretty good rival to Luffy and then Sai effectively inherit his strength, Kyros's 3000 undefeated fights including giants and fishmen underwater AND destroying Buffalo with no effort whatsoever). The only officer defeat that could've made the officer look potentialy bad was Machvise at the hands of Hajrudin who, at that point, had only managed to job to Luffy and lost his previous bout with Machvise, but it was so epic I don't care.
Now, as you said, Doffy was a beast and I don't think anyone can doubt that. In fact, Oda maybe went a bit too far with how incredibly strong he was even without his DF. The fact he pummeled Luffy around like a ragdoll while barely using his String powers just puts him on a level, as a purely physical fighter, the likes of Lucci could never even dream of.
The most used word in this chapter was "pant" about 16 times (just a side-note).
DR's reaction to Doffy's defeat was pretty obvious. But I wanna know how the rest of the world reacts to it, since Doffy had a lot of Relations as #1-underworld-broker.
I wonder what cavendish did when law helped luffy the last 10/11mn of the fight.

I was, the whole Arc, someone who thought that this Arc is good. A lot interesting Characters, a nice backstory and a lot more. But please end it finally. This whole Chapter was, even for my patience, sooo dragged. Dont do a freakin 2 Chapter-dragged Party, please Oda. We need to leave.

Yes, and the only reason she's holding Luffy is because she's Luffy's friend. She just happens to have a personality everybody in here seems to dislike.

they hate her because she started as a strong female figure that could've broke the shounen tropes but ended up being another damsel in distress, with her acting out of character when she ran away from diamante.

Dofla was the most terrifying villain so far, he was really the incarnation of wrath.
I have the feeling that from now on the shichibukai will have less and less importance in the story and it will focus more on the emperors. Hope to see Kaido or Big mom soon.

Honestly thought we would see sabo this chapter too. Like sure half the chapter or so had to be reactions. But literally nothing happened. Guess everyone forgot about burgess and Fuji. A lot of "wrapping the arc up" content could've been shown, but instead Oda just drags it in further. I will say I do like these episodes in the anime, but for the manga they are very lame imo
What if Doflamingo is blind? or he has only one eye? So far we only "saw" his right eye, and in this picture from chapter 763 the left eye is shown with the glasses, even though it's from his younger self.

I wasn't really expecting this, but I should have been. Very short chapter, took me like 2 minutes to read. Still, it was sweet. Seeing everyone be relieved of what they (and us) have been enduring all this time. Especially Kyros' scene, that was nice. I wasn't satisfied, but yeah. Bring the next one!
