@enkidude:
you people are ridiculous. last week it was, where's sabo to fight burgess, now it's, no, why is sabo fighting burgess.
Actually, I'm not all this much bothered by Sabo vs Burgess. It is neither a surprise nor very interesting, but I can simply shrug it off. Oda wants to showcase the protective big brother, I don't enjoy it, too bad for me, end of the story. If we're lucky this may end dramatically and create more bad blood with the BlackBeard pirates, final antagonists are slowly building up either way, that's good.
On the other hand, especially now that the cage is shrinking even more, I find it increasingly difficult to stomach Fujitora's inaction. Apart from rescuing little Timmy, what exactly does he have planned that will justify sitting on a bench while the entire population is herded toward certain death? Will he keep eating ramen when the first citizens are beginning to get minced like onions ?
The worst part is that Oda seems to have written himself into a corner here:
- If Fuji does act against Doflamingo it will ruin his own plans and tarnish Luffy's victory (in the eye of us, the reader).
- If he stays idle to the very end, well what did he even get his status for.
- If he keeps rescuing little children, well that's very noble of him but unless that involves his incredibly keen hearing or gravity control did he not have better things to do?
- If he acts to stop/slow down the birdcage, at least I'll be impressed but then why did he not do that half an hour ago?
I'll wait and see how this develops, but unless Oda brings another surprise dish to the table (have Fuji confront Burgess? Now that would be worthy of his title) it might really feel as if we would have been better off with Bastille alone
