I thought it was just a zoom in of this kid from the previous panel.
My Hero Academia - Gomu Gomu no Gentle Fist

Yeah, the perspective of All-Might looking at the crowd makes me think he's looking at someone there. But when All-Might said "Successors, huh…?", specifically with a plural, as well as having Bakugou's earlier quote of "Even higher than you, Chosen One.", it makes me think that All-Might may be considering mentoring Deku and Bakugou simultaneously. And if that is the case if I'm interpreting the translation correctly, I would absolutely love that. Especially now that Bakugou is in on the secret of One for All after admiring All-Might for so long as well now tolerating Deku as a rival and comrade. But that doesn't exactly roll with why he'll looking at someone in the crowd. Unless Jabbs is right about that being a flashback panel of young All-Might.
And I wonder what's up with Shinsou. I can't help but feel like it's villain-related, as that would be an understandable evolution for his character arc of people praising his Quirk as one that would befit a villain.
-
Okay. I admit it. I like Bakugou more now. Still owns Deku an apology.
Class B is on fire. I hope the official introduction of my little Tsunotori means more will follow. And thumbs up to Tetsutetsu waving to Kirishima. Monoma is great, as usual. Shinou is grumpy. If UA is using him as a human lie detector, and considering he might be the only student in the school who knows there could be a traitor I'm not surprised.
I thought it was just a zoom in of this kid from the previous panel.
I think so too. Most likely a second or third year student. By why focus on him now? A personal connection to All Might? A relative? That class year's top student? Hmm…
Vigilante: Chapter 3 is out
http://mangastream.com/r/vigilante/003/3911/1
Fun chapter. More about character interactions than plot development.
Love discount Luffy, Cyclops and Wolverine. Gentle-man wearing gear to protect himself from villains and his quirk was smart. He seems to be fully on board now, a bit strange but I'll go with it. Nice save with the baby. Wonder how fast he can really go?Knuckleduster is always awesome. Props to Pop Step for being useful. This is the best I've seen her character, hope it continues. Tsukauchi may be a regular in the series. A good use of the character if he become an antagonist. Looking forward to next chapter.

A second or third year who was scouted as a possible prospect as his successor, no?
And as for the Shinsou thing, I interpreted their comments as if they were saying he seemed more.. rugged? Basically that he's been working hard on his physical abilities. Hopefully that means he'll be changing classes.

Okay went back and checked MS scan because of responses here made me think they left it out... but it was there. You guys miss the text on the side of the page? Feel like that should clear things up. =P
-
Yeah. But why introduce this guy now? I'm asking from a story POV. Like, it could be a connection to All Might or maybe a way to introduce the upper class into the story. Or, is he simply one of, if not, the top student in UA? Someone for the first years to strive to be like.

Ah, I was thinking something along the lines of.. a former standout student akin to Bakugou(or Todoroki) at the time but has managed to change for the better or maybe for the worse. But I think it will be something for AM to relate to Bakugou since he seems likely to take him under his wing as well now.
-
And now we transition from Bully to proper tsuntsun rival.
I strangely though the successor comment was alluding to the mind control guy.
-
"I can't wait to beat the shit out of them!"
Pony Best Girl.

I will admit that panel was the one and only time I ever found Monoma to be cleverly funny rather than repetitively insufferable.
-
I found the "beat the shit out of them" line hilarious on a personal level because it reminded me of an idea I had in mind for an original story of my own.

@Count:
But when All-Might said "Successors, huh…?", specifically with a plural
There's no specific plural. There isn't even an explicit, grammatical plural in Nezu's speech (which is what makes AM think of the word), though it could have been translated that way depending on phrasing. Still, nothing to indicate plural one way or the other in AM's line, which means that going with singular is definitely the safe bet. Or even a more general choice, like "succession."

Merci, Triple C. That makes more sense even though I could have easily been reading too much into the wording if it was accurate.
-
I also thought it was the mind control guy. If it is true, I wonder how his character will develop now.

With class A and B having at least one shared class I can see that happening. Which would be good because they can't use Bakugou as the plot point of a student going to the dark side at this point. Not that I necessarily want that in general, but it seems like it'll happen regardless.
-
It's hard to think of anyone besides mind control guy, especially since he's shown on the last panel. Not to mention he was noticed earlier in the chapter.
Wonder what makes him such a great candidate. It certainly can't be about synergy between abilities. I'd have to reread the chapters where he was featured.

I was expecting a Runaways-esque plot twist of one of the kids finding out one of or both of their parents are secretly villains. And it could have sparked some sort of internal conflict and drive to join the Dark Side. But now that the students are dorming, that has little-to-no chance of being properly built up and executed.
But regarding the concept of a kid becoming a villain (or at least trying to), I would personally love it.

I would enjoy it if a kid decided to be a villain not because of drama but because they agreed with Stain or Face Palm and just thought it would be fun.
Mind control guy seems a bit despondent so I figure if he's switching teams it's because he's giving into what others expected of him because of his shady powers.

We already have that with Toga and Dabi, and it seemed that way for Twice before his reveal.

I'm talking about someone im the hero schools though. The others were already doing villain things and seemed to have no qualms about it. Someone that the kids know as their classmate.
-
It's not Shinsou. All Might and the president had that convo prior to AM joining UA. Shinsou wouldn't be in anyone's mind. It'd a 2nd or 3rd year student

Lucas/Tintin made my day. -

I hope sempai notices me.

I suppose this explains why we didn't see the guy's face last chapter.

So I'm guessing any of the three could've ended up being All Might's successor?
Also, I loved Mineta and Sero teasing Bakugo.

If I have to take a guess it is the guy who is always smiling. You know, like All Mighty.
I also really like that girl's hair. It chapters like these that makes me miss my school days. Oooh, my springtime of youth….

Face that was hidden for reasons of standing out aside, Tintin's hair also matches the person we saw last chapter.

No, I'm saying I think all three of them were candidates since they're the big three. I know Lucas was the one shown.

Still, last chapter we were given the idea that it was only one guy.
Just saying.
-
I find it funny, that they're called the Big Three. Looking at them, we have:
The highly energetic fun one - One Piece.
The one who won't stop talking - Naruto.
The edgy one -Bleach. -
Asui status: Big
-
My thought now: Assuming Tintin was the only one being considered as a successor to All Might, did he know it? Obviously he won't know about One For All, but could be have known he we in the running to be All Might's chosen successor as the Symbol of Peace? If so, it would explain his initial messing with Deku.
My own prediction, he'll be designed to contrast Deku and Bakugo. Where those two respectively lacked the drive of a hero and the heart of a hero, Tintin will have far too much of both.

I shall now call him Fallout Boy instead of Tintin.

Trying to figure out what video game figure L there resembles, since we apparently have Lucas and Na'vi as the other two.
-
Bland Face has scars on his arms like Deku's One for All injuries.
-
I think the guy's face is going for a generic 1950's super hero sidekick look.
He was being considered as All might's successor, so I'm guessing they wanted to make the kid also have a silver age comic look to him to represent that.
-
I don't care what the new villains are. What's with the new chemistry of our two heroes? I like that alot. Bakugou becoming post-Namek Vegeta.
-
This is it. The potential new All Might, a hero with strength and charisma. And with Kitty Pride powers? Awesome!
Hounddog is amazing. Best Guidance Councilor. Want more Big Three. But, I'm nervous about the uh… edgy guy. I hope there's more to him than being edgy.

Yeah, I'm assuming that shows he's a hard worker. Can't wait to see him in action.

Was thinking along those lines too. He and All Might both got western style faces. This guy seems like the perfect All Might successor. What the heck made All Might not choose him? Or, did he choose him but changed his mind after meeting Deku? Oh, I'm excited now.

Edgy guy looks like timeskip Sasuke.
Phdamnit. That's an edited image lol.

I'm calling the buff guy Lucas

Other than meeting Deku first, my own guess is that, where Deku had the heart of a hero but not necessarily the drive and Bakugo has the drive but not necessarily the heart, Fallout Boy here has both, but in such high measure that the power of One For All could corrupt him if he got it and make him go full Knight Templar.
-

Don't you think it is a bit weird for someone with Shadowcat's ability to have scars?

Sometimes I forget Kitty Pride has a hero name.
-

Sometimes I forget about Kitty Pride, period. When I saw Bland Face's powers, I thought of Vision and Martian Manhunter first when it comes to intangibility/density manipulation powers.
-
The guy face so overly bland that it stand out. I am probably gonna like him as long as they don't transform him into a villain.
I dunno. A face so wholesome doing horrific things….Especially since he can either phase through stuff or just phase his face would be ultimate nightmare fuel lol.
-

It would be a nice creepy contrast to All-Might's smile being a symbol of hope for the people. It's even more fitting that Bland Face was seemingly considered to be All-Might's disciple.

Meh. I never like the cliché of the gifted rejected pupil turning evil. It always seems like a cheap not have you ask yourself what if he chose the other one.

I get the dislike for the cliche. But to be fair, it would be nice to see Horikoshi tackle the subject of what if All-Might considered a pupil who already had a Quirk.
