this topic became more spoiling than the opening damn
That's exactly what happens, always. Manga readers worried about spoilers (that are otherwise unnoticeable for anime viewers) end up talking too much and spoiling things themselves.

If showing new characters is a spoiler, I wonder how a spoil-free opening of any new anime is supposed to look like ?
A 1-2 min fixed image of the title ?

Maybe like the 7th opening…The worst opening for me. (even worst that the 12th opening)...Anyway, showing some scene of the present arc is what I wait from an opening >_>
Opening was shit imo.They spoiled the new admiral(they spoiled nearly everything actually about dressrosa) , monster trio vs admirals , conversation in the middle of the opening and pre time skip Blackbeard.So many problems with the opening.I hope they will change it as soon as possible.Episode was great.Buggy appeared which was awesome.Also Robin actually yelled that the island can be seen (before the timeskip she didnt care and luffy scolded her about it).Also Law not getting caught by Doflamingos pace but by Straw Hats.Face Fault was great.Brook as rude as ever :D
Next Chapters Preview reminded me that opening spoiled the new admirals suprise which sucks alot imo.Also that preview was like horror show.Pupets slowly turning and looking without blinking :D
Did I tell you guys how much I "loved" that they absolutely forgot about Momo and Kinemon in this opening? It's like… they didn't know what to do with it!
People who are saying they spoiled the Admiral fights are fking morons, to put it bluntly. If you think the Admiral fights, that, more than likely won't happen for another 7 to 10 years, will pan out anything like they did in this opening, you need to get your brain checked.
Also. Post-timeskip Blackbeard looks near identical to pre-timeskip Blackbeard, just a different overcoat, and the Blackbeard Pirates still have their pre-timeskip appearances, so they didn't spoil there either like some people are implying.
Nice Opening with some spoilers, the only thing I didn't like were BB's ad Luffy's words in the middle of the song :/
Absa= Absalom the Invisible Journalist! :D
@Vegard:
… was this yet another one of those amazingly rare openings where Shanks did not make an appearance? Considering my justification for Blackbeard being there that almost seems kinda strange.
.......
Though... WTF with the mid-opening taunt between Luffy and Blackbeard. That was just weird.
See.. this is why I said I didn't like the new opening. It's really weird… I know it's for the 15th anniv but Toei please... Even the animation of the filler before is better than this episode.
And there's one thing I really want to complain. They ruins the 'Law hates bread' part. If you're following the manga, Law was not shouting. He said it with calm. Somehow, Toei ruins his image... -_-;;
holy fuck that intro, i mangasmed at the monster trio vs admiral
I don´t understand why some people say that this opening spoils the whole saga if you all are up to the manga… If you are talking about the people who only watch the anime, then you are right, but almost every opening of OP has spoiled something of the plot. However, I can´t believe they have spoiled the fact that Fujitora is an admiral or the scene Robin/dwarves... I mean, it´s alright that they introduce characters like Chinjiao, Cavendish and Rebecca, but they shouldn´t show important parts of the plot in the opening.
Opening was expectedly shit, but who gives a fuck, just seeing Dressrosa animated makes me cum rainbows. Animation was sub par and they managed to filler it all up, but seeing Akainu finally animated and new characters finally voiced makes it all worth it.
@LUFFYSMC:
Trebol actually didn't creep me out like he did in the manga, actually kinda found him amusing, though it was odd DD said he
liked Trebol's being close.
He knows the quirks of his crewmates/family and goes along with them, just like with Diamante "you are "x", -no Im not- ,yes you "x", -no Im not-, Ok, you arent "x" - Ok if you insist I am "x"
I liked the opening very very much. It was just great! The episode was awesome, too. A really great start for the new arc.
Don't care what anyone says! I am a big fan of AAA and this song ROCKS!!
This episode is also one of THE BEST! The crew interactions, the setup for the villians the extra scenes with BUGGY!!! What more could you want? XD
Seems I'm on the exact opposite side. I didn't like the episode but loved the opening.
I'd choose chapter 700 over this episode anytime. That was a really great plot heavy chapter and when you spread it out so much it loses it's impact imo. Diamante's voice was unexpected but actually pretty good, Trebol's voice was just awful though jeez. And ugh, like someone said we're just never safe from Buggy filler are we?
I'll really miss We Go but this opening is just pure eye candy and awesome in a cheesy way. The talk with BB midway was really weird but that's all. Akainu and fujitora really made this. People say it's video gamey and they're completely right. And that's right up my alley
This episode is also one of THE BEST!
Great episode fantastic opening but din't really like the part with going up against the Admirals and such to soon i also liked the filler bits and good pacing but there is no way they can keep this pacing up where in the same arc as the manga and less then 35 chapters behind so get ready for slow episodes the coming up.
@A:
BTW is it just me or are nami's boobs…. REALLLLY far apart here? i mean i have to stare at breasts all the time (im an artist) so I'm calling BS
You know that's a screenshot of an animated video right? In the video Nami was running then jumped up, that's what women boobs do when they run and jump.(it spreads out).
Why are manga readers complaining about spoilers and then people who only watch the anime aren't?
In a bunch of cases, because the things that are spoiled will be spoiled for anime viewers by the opening when certain scenes happen which haven't happened yet. Things which were supposed to be revealed later, but are subtly built up by a scene earlier, will now become a complete reveal when that first scene happens.
The episode was definitely well handled with some quality direction keeping the episode fresh and some good art and animation certainly helped. The new Dressrosa characters are all well voiced, thankfully, so no problems on that front.
And what's this? The (in)glorious return of Buggy filler? I knew Toei couldn't possibly resist.

From what I've seen on your posts, it feels like you're hurting yourself by watching the anime buddy.
9.5/10. A great episode to start the arc. I really enjoyed it. The humor was great. It was so funny seeing Law intrigued by the crews antics and his interaction with Kin'emon and Momonosuke. I'm not a fan of Diamante's voice, not what I was expecting.
I got chills when Akainu was speaking - it's been so long. The entire new Marineford scene was well done. Kid was creepy and the Thriller Bark reveal was cool. Also, Crocodile!! I didn't realise it was him in the manga. Can't wait to see him again.
A lot of you are overreacting for no reason. The opening didn't spoil anything to people who don't read the manga. If anything it has everyone excited. PLUS Fujitora appears in the next episode…stop being ridiculous. -.-
This is my favorite opening song/opening since...iono tbh. I didn't like Hands up or the one before. lol
Is there any reason for Jora to have multicolored hair?
Wow, I can't put my finger on it, but this episode looked ALOT better than all the recent episodes. The art was very consistent, there was lots of content,and they weren't lazy in animating little things in the background.
Trebol more than exceeded my expectations. I wish they made Diamante a bit more clear and not a silhouette.
My immature self couldn't help but laugh at the unexpected Brook fart XD. Pardon me
Also the Zoro vs the marine in the opening was just AWESOME fanboy mode
I'll post my thoughts when I watch the full episode but just from skimming… Buggy's little scene is hilarious but SO unnecessary. I bet they just wanted to throw in their missed Buggy filler to waste a minute and give the awesome VA some lines (and also use his awesome theme). Buggy's awesome but that was a what the fuck moment.
Is there any reason for Jora to have multicolored hair?
Her art is extravagant, so her hair is as well?
Wow this is weird. that was the best One Piece episode I've seen in years. I only checked it out for the opening but everything was pretty great. I might actually keep up with the anime for Dressrosa now. Also I really liked the opening .
You know that's a screenshot of an animated video right? In the video Nami was running then jumped up, that's what women boobs do when they run and jump.(it spreads out).
Im the one who screencapped it, genius… and no it's a still
and breast move up more-so than out (when clothed).... invalid.
did you fail physics?

hmmm your posts dont seem too…... constructive.
what do you mean filler it up? everything (minus the buggy scene) was canon
and for one piece standards, this was anything but.... combmbined with the fact that everyone was on model the whole way through

Is there any reason for Jora to have multicolored hair?
Better than Oda's pick, which was bright neon green.
Toei once again comes to the rescue when it comes to their colorations.
Really? The design from the manga look pretty generic to me.
Well for me it was obvious, the cigar, the hair style and color, the coat, I never doubted 1 second that it was him

Well, the hair colour wasn't shown, the style could have been slicked back hair, or it could have been a normal hairdo and lots of characters wear coats.
Did anyone notice all those new bad-ass character designs for those marines?
I too thought it was Crocodile, but unless they asked Oda about it, they should've left it as it was in the manga.

Yeh, I thought of commenting on it. They looked really nice.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y149/provenbelief/Funny/mj-laughing.gif
really, you're going to laugh at someone for expressing an opinion on something? if the anime and what it does isn't for you than just read the manga, it's as simple as that. the anime may have disappointing moments for some people but that doesn't mean it's impossible nobody can watch and enjoy it. don't ruin it for other people who actually enjoy it, hanging around and bashing it and the people who express their approval of it is pointless.
While I consider OP a mash of bad direction nowadays, this episode was actually good. Buggy part looked silly and out of place, but it wasn't really that bothersome. If they needed extra time, I'd rather they showed how he reacted when he realized that the black bat carried an invitation to join Shichibukai.
I hoped the fillers are going to be longer. 3 episodes is too little, and I fear we'll get back to terrible pacing in a few episodes.

There may be fillers during the arc. Barto fillers could be good (him running around screaming or a bigger backstory). Still waiting for fillers on Garp's childhood.
so guys you know what other anime opening spoiled the shit outta the anime?
obody complained however because its out of context till it happensAnd there's one thing I really want to complain. They ruins the 'Law hates bread' part. If you're following the manga, Law was not shouting. He said it with calm. Somehow, Toei ruins his image… -_-;;
The fuck are you talking about? The look on his face was obvious he wasn't calmly stating it. Your comment is nitpicky as fuck and even if what you said is true Oda's face fault for Law after pretty much counteracts your whole point.
@Miss:
Rejoice. Funimation was able to get this new video game opening.
No more looking at Hody and Decken.
Good thing I stopped watching the simulcast a while back so I could see Hands Up.
@Miss:
The entire fucking arc spoiled.
.
Crocodile being outright revealed.
Ship being outright revealed as being from Thriller Bark.
Buggy filler IN A SCENE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE NO BUGGY.
I hope you're all prepared to see him and Mr. 3 show up half way through Dressrosa to start some more wacky filler antics freeing prisoners. We're in for one hell of a ride, ladies and gentlemen. Pucker your anuses.
The opening really didn't spoil anything other than new character designs and locations, which is nothing new to anime openings since ever. You guys are viewing the opening from the point of view of someone who has read the manga so of course it looks spoiling. Without knowing who these characters or locations are or what they're supposed to be in context of the story, there's no way in hell you'd be spoiled.
When I saw opening 5 back when I wasn't reading the manga I saw all of CP9/Galley-La revealed in addition to several key scenes and other than Luffy and Usopp fighting for some reason that opening really didn't ruin my enjoyment of the arc and I'd be willing to bet the same applies for this one as well. And seeing Doflamingo and his crew is no surprise because it's obvious they're the main antagonists of this arc from the getgo.
It was damn obvious that was Crocodile from the chapter so I'm not sure what you're getting at. The anime has to approve certain things like this and they work pretty closely with Oda. Filler scenes are one thing but they can't just throw a character in without double checking with Oda first. For example, the character many of us thought was Lucci turned out to be someone else. If they were just going to shoehorn in Crocodile for no reason, why wouldn't they just do the same with Lucci based on his similar design. Because they obviously checked with Oda.
Again, the ship being from Thriller Bark was obvious. In the chapter it was revealed many people, me included, were having the discussion about how the ship in the background said Thriller Bark and how "Absa" obviously meant "Absalom", and then I guess Oda revealed it in an SBS as shown above (which I didn't know).
Unlike some of the previous Buggy scenes I thought this one was handled well. And quite honestly I wouldn't mind seeing a scene or two with Buggy and Mr. 3 since they're awesome. You never know. The anime revealed Coby and Helmeppo's new designs earlier than the manga, as they did with Ao Kiji.
well..let's see
! -fujitora
-colosseum fights
-pretty much all the new important characters that will show up
-dwarves
-mr soldier being important part of the arc
-triple threat between law,fuji and dofla (when it is supposed that doflamingo has quit the shichibukai,soi fuji should not be allied with him)
-art-art fruit
-all the doflamingo family
Unlike some of the previous Buggy scenes I thought this one was handled well. And quite honestly I wouldn't mind seeing a scene or two with Buggy and Mr. 3 since they're awesome. You never know.
No I do know. I know 80% of the reason the ID arc was ruined was because of their hamfisted filler garbage. Don't even joke like that.
And I'll say it again for the twentieth time. They spoiled a certain Admiral's identity. No it's not a big deal to me, but that doesn't make it any less of a spoiler. Let's call a thing a thing; that's a spoiler. The Water 7 opening didn't show Lucci wearing his CP9 suit.

Well I liked some of those filler scenes. Not all of them, but some of them.
You said the opening spoils the entire arc. No, it doesn't. It's a spoiler, yes, but the admiral's reveal isn't too far in and it hardly ruins the story at all. And let's be honest. How many didn't think he was an admiral? I would have been surprised if he wasn't an admiral.

Seems like you the one lacking physics, breast move up and down if the said person was to jump up while standing in a point and if you don't know they are different types of tits.

Hey bro, I said,, If you read the manga. Yes, In the anime he was shouting but not in the manga.
! You know the difference between dialogue balloon, don't you?
! This one is shouting:
! And this one is not.
