'The Shame Of Arlong Park' makes me laugh.
Though when you think about it Block A had Burgess masquerading as "Mr. Store", Block B King Riku as "Ricky" and C had both Luffy & Sabo as "Lucy". That leaves D Block as the only one with no VIPs in disguise but with 3 masked/ obscured characters.
Unless you want to count Hekuba.

Not you, the theory. It's not popular and was most likely the result of having too long a break between chapters.
But it's still odd that out of all the featured gladiators in the Blocks he and the masked guy Damask have had the least on panel appearances. Just two headshots. Even Shaman Mummy got a line. Even Fighting Lion got more panel space.

I think Doflamingo is too powerful of a man. I remember Akoji saying to Smoker "Doflamingo will be the most serious matter Akainu has ever faced since taking over HQ." That serious matter was implied to Aokiji and his 10 day fight with Akainu and saying Doflamingo will be even worse is a huge hint to Doflamingo's power. I also took in the fact that Doflmaingo said after this crisis is over, he is going to get rid of Fujitora implying to kill or hide forever. I just don't see Luffy taking down Doflamingo at this point.

Doula Mongo is dangerous because of his connections. He's hinted to still have ties with the World Nobles. And Kuzan should know about his Joker dealings too as it is implied that he's involved with the underground.

In terms of strength, the PH scene pretty much implied that Doula Mongo isn't on the same level as Kuzan. It's not hard to believe that Luffy should be at least close to Doula's level.

Doula also can easily get rid of Fuji through Sugar.

I don't know about the not on kuzans level part. We have never seen doflamingo even close to being hurt besides kuzans sneak attack. I didn't seem like mingo left because he was scared or couldn't defeat kuzan, but it would have been a waste of time because of the more pressing matters at hand. I do believe the top three shichibukai ( to me is mihawk mingo and the seventh unknown) are close to admiral level in terms of strength. Not saying kuzan wouldn't win but ayleast on same level. Jokers df has many tricks to it.

In the long run this will turn into a power level argument anyways, so I'll make it quick. Doflamingo will be a dangerous fighter for anyone, but that doesn't mean that he'll win the battle since Haki, stamina, speed is at play in this sort of situation and I personally doesn't see Dodlamingo being a huge thread to Kuzan, somebody that as of now has nothing to lose.

Doflamingo knew that Kuzan was behind him, Kuzan even told him to move from there, but he try to finish what he started anyway (I wouldn't expect less from him) and Doflamingo is not scared of fighting Kuzan, but he sure knows how to pick his fights and knows that If he went for the fight against Kuzan he would lose that fight one way or another, is way more easy to deal with this type of situations when you have the connections to make things work and don't have to struggle fighting them off your back and that's what he did, If he didn't have the CDs he would most likely have fought Kuzan right there

The big One Piece antagonists are usually always hyped up before they end up actually fighting Luffy. Doflamingo is yet another example of that. He'll be one hell of a fight for sure, but when Luffy says that he's going to kick Doflamingo's ass, it's going to happen. Especially after all of this build-up. This whole arc I've been waiting for that one moment when Doffy takes a critical blow for the first time in the series. He's gone unscathed up until this point (unless you count that cut Law gave him but that was barely even a scratch to Doflamingo), which is something that you can't even say about Blackbeard and Akainu, arguably the two biggest antagonists in the series in the grand scheme of things. When we finally get that chapter when Luffy punches Doffy's lights out, I'm going to be really excited.

I kind of hope that Law doesn't have a gigantic hand in Doflamingo's defeat, because I'd rather save the inevitable Supernova tag-team stuff for when they take on Kaido, since at that time it would make sense for them to team up against one giant threat.

Valid arguement indeed, though jokers final words to kuzan wasn't of a man who thinks he can't kill him if he wanted too. Both very hyped up strong characters. So what kuzan froze him no handed (lol), he was sitting on smoker not giving a Shit what kuzan would do. Think about it why not just do one of your most powerful attacks instead of just freezing him. Joker almost immediately broke out and laughed it off. Kuzan even said how dangerous joker is to smoker after words.

Plus there was no surprise attack from mingo, kuzan or not he was torturing and smashing smoker ether way. Also, not beyond a reasonable doubt if joker wasn't in a situation of time and his entire business he could have just finished smoker and fought kuzan. He knows kuzan is no easy fight and not worth it considering is problems at hand.

We will never know…though I like to believe mingo is that strong considering he doesn't mind taking out admirals, and has shown impressive fighting skills not just mere freeze everything, make ice spears, ice type bird counter attack....I believe the encounter was not only for plot purpose but to show mingo is on that level...

I believe the only reason Kuzan was able to freeze Doflamingo on time was 1) Doflamingo's attack was a sweep meaning the strings were behind his arm the whole time, so even if his arm passed smoker the string would still not reach and aokiji had already started slowly moving his ice attack. and 2) This is Akoji's territory, it is completely covered in snow which Aokiji apparently made during his battle with Akainu. So it looked like when Doflamingo looked back at Aokiji he was unsure if he would get the attack on time due to the pre-prepped environment advantage.

To be fair, not long ago he just seemed like a generic big lad with no personality past I LOVE STONE.

Now he's got a lovely high voice and massive amount of insecurity to go along with it.

I imagine there'll be more to him.

I'm more interested on how the fight will pan out. I know some are disappointed with the fact that he won't be fighting giant Pica, but there is potential for this fight. He can move around anywhere he wants with ease, and can change the environment as well. While Zoro is a more straightforward fighter, this could still show him being a bit more conservative with his attacks.

I'm assuming he abandoned it to personally handle Luffy and Zoro by himself because he couldn't stop their progression with the stone giant and because he seriously wanted to kill Luffy. They could destroy it quite easily which is why it wouldn't work. If he went and fought himself then he would be making progress. If he did that then they would be too busy to be able to go any further and he could have his chance to kill Luffy. There hasn't been a single account of a devil fruit user abandoning their ability completely in favor of something else. There honestly wouldn't be a point in giving him one if that were the case. The battle has only just begun and he still has plenty more tricks up his sleeve. He can still control the entire country if all else fails.

I could see him knocking Zoro off and starting in the giant form again, mainly just to knock out some of the people going after Doflamingo. The question is if Oda wants to draw a more fighting with that form. For better or worse, Oda will show people use their powers in different ways just to give an idea of what they can do. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see giant Pica any more, but it's still possible. We'll just have to wait and see how it pans out.

I think when they have the chapter too themselves he will use his df more…I'm really hoping we see zoro cut huge stone pica in half to get to the real body...I'm guessing zoro gets the upper hand, pica hides in stone and attacks from safety. After getting somewhat the upper hand zoro says fuck it and a epic Dragon slash or whatever can't think of the name, whatever he cut Monet with. Just all speculation of course.

Pica in a nutshell.

I actually kinda like Pica before it was revealed he had a squeaky voice. His design is my favourite among the executives. I kinda wish that Oda gave him a weapon beside a giant katana. While there's nothing wrong with him being a swordsman, at least give him another type of sword.

I'm fine with Pica's sword because it still provides Zoro with a unique sword duel. He's never fought against a man with giant katana before, so it doesn't feel like he's dealing with a rehashed fight. I will say this though; I really want Law's flashback to get out of the way before the chapters dedicated to some of these fights are shown. Dont get me wrong; I really want to see how Law and Doflamingo acted back then, but I know that we're not going to see any substantial action until Law's backstory is completed and everything to set up Doflamingo's defeat has been addressed.I'm also pretty sure that we won't see any solidified defeats until the big fight between Luffy and Doflamingo starts. At the moment starting that fight is more important than watching Zoro take down Pica or having Franky defeat Senor Pink and destroy the factory. We know those things are going to happen, so I would much rather see how those fights play out once Doffy has his hands full.

Punk Hazard and Dressrosa have bothered me because out of all the antagonists and outright villains they've now introduced the two most dangerous characters in One Piece ever.

The first is Caesar Clown. All the logias are dangerous but in this case it's just the icing on the cake. Worryingly he has also shown that he's able to use his DF powers intelligently and even haki only goes so far if he can counter it from a distance.
CC's real menace is he's an unhinged genius who has the ambition of creating the deadliest Weapon of Mass Destruction possible. How do you react to a threat like that? The parameters of Shinokuni meant that he didn't, in the end, cause the massacre he was trying for but the knowledge is still there as is the unhinged malice. Added to that is that he appears treasonous by nature and has shown no evidence he won't turn on an ally the second he gets the opportunity.

I'm guessing that by the end of his appearances CC will have somehow been leashed in a fairly permanent way either by the WG or a Yonkou, but the idea of him running around free gives me the heebie jeebies.

And yet he pales in comparison of the threat unleashed by the introduction of Sugar.
There are broken DF out there, Doflamingo among them, but Sugar is the first character who has the ability to retroactively wipe a character from existence. She has the ability to start destroying a life from the inside out. Though not strong in the traditional sense the danger is that if left to her own devices people will have no idea that they've even been victimized. She's shown no particular restraint, moral code or respect for human life and, again, shows intelligence in using her power.
Even if she doesn't find herself another strong protector what do you do? Just knock her out every few months to be sure?

Maybe there will be some in-story reasons given to remove them as threats but if I was a Straw Hat I would be seriously rethinking my Captain's policy of letting a defeated foe wander off after a battle ends.

The nice thing is that these characters that have some very dangerous fruits have limits be it themselves or they have to have certain conditions to be really threatening. CC can make some dangerous stuff, and while he can be smart with his fruit, a stronger and more experienced fighter can be taken out. He was able to come up with all this stuff because nobody would attack him until Luffy showed up. Sugar's ability is more suited for Doflamingos purpose. Being able to make slaves out of influential people while erasing their existence is great, but you can't put yourself out in the open very much. Also being young and not as strong helps balance out a little. Moria is broken if you don't know how to deal with him. Salt on Zombies take them out instantly, so while he can make a big army, they can be taken out easily. As far as Crocodile, the only reason he was able to cause massive scale damage like that was because he was at a desert Island, so he could make powerful sandstorms at will.

Luffy's concerns lie in the present more than they do in the future, which is reflected pretty clearly in this arc when he told off Law about how saving Dressrosa in its current state is much more important to him than worrying about the repercussions that they'll face from Kaido after Doflamingo is taken out. I doubt that letting people with dangerous DFs run loose is something that worries him in the slightest, especially considering the success rate of all of their encounters.

Luffy's concerns lie in the present more than they do in the future, which is reflected pretty clearly in this arc when he told off Law about how saving Dressrosa in its current state is much more important to him than worrying about the repercussions that they'll face from Kaido after Doflamingo is taken out. I doubt that letting people with dangerous DFs run loose is something that worries him in the slightest, especially considering the success rate of all of their encounters.

Ehhh I think it's more luffy doesn't understand how dangerous kaidou and his army really are but really cares more about kryos and Rebecca's situation more than powerful pirates he plans too fight anyway. It's not he doesn't think about the future he is just that confident he will beat kaidou anyway plan or not, hence the we will worry about kaidou later remark.

So any guesses on when hakuba shall be released again. I'm really hoping somehow it fits in canvendishes plan he had at the end of the last chapter.

Unless Oda ended up creating Hakuba just as a way to wrap up Block D and never addresses it again (which would be pretty stupid) I think it's pretty much guaranteed that he'll resurface again at some point in the future. I can't say I have a good idea of when that'll be though.Considering the fact that Hakuba can't discern friend from foe I doubt that it'll be something that Luffy and co would willingly want to resort to unless they had to cause a major distraction.

Well your first sentence was unnecessary of course its a given…but it depends on how it works, is Cavendish plan for him to unleash hakuba to aybe help straw hat pass or is it really hakuba using Cavendish to set up his awakening at the right moment :ninja:
