Spoilers for the next chapter are out
! Apparently Rin and Kushina died on the same day, and that day is TODAY! (the war in Naruto's world)
Must be different years then, otherwise that kinda wouldn't work.

Obito is such a shity characther, can't we have the stupid monster back?
Growls are better than whining.

yeah meant same day different years. Could see how that can be unclear in my post. But yeah, it's just another way to try to give significance to the events even though I don't think the start date of the war or the day the 9 tails attacked was even hinted at to be done on a "special" day by Obito. But maybe somebody better versed in Naruto can prove me wrong.

kind a fit….in Obito's memory,Kakashi was shown to put flowers in Rin's grave(which Obito threw away ) just before Obito finally attacked.....

Aw crap, Kishimoto is really going to ham up the whole "Obito = evil Naruto" angle, isn't he? I can smell the talk no jutsu already.
…why is that info relevant?!!!?
@The:
…why is that info relevant?!!!?
But Daz, it makes it all deep, and symbolic, and prophetic and shit.
Well, at least it makes it one of those things.

It means that the reason he attacked the village that day is because he wanted revenge on Minato for not saving Rin… he wanted Kushina to die on the same day as Rin.

SYMBOLISM!!!!1!!1!!!
Remind me again why Rin wasn't edo-tensei'd?
It would've avoided so much.

Maybe she fell in a pond after her death which, as we all know, makes her immune to Edo Tensei.
Other stuff might have happened…maybe. Here's a short summary.
! Beginning of the chapter recaps what we already know.
! Then three more bijuu flower monsters appear and start charging up their bijuu bomb attack.
The hokages try to stop them from killing everyone, but they don't have the energy at the moment to transport all four of them elsewhere.
But regardless Obito traps the people in some barrier to prevent them from escaping.
Then Naruto comes up with a plan to save everyone but it requires him to bump fists with his father so the nine tail halves can talk to each other and Naruto's half asks the other for chakra.
Then Obito brings up the anniversary stuff.
Cliffhanger right before Naruto saves everyone.
@The:

i am just saying Kishi shown that as a premonition that it was Rin's death anniversary..
Of course it is just a plot that Kushina went to labor at the same day…..
Maybe she fell in a pond after her death which, as we all know, makes her immune to Edo Tensei.
That, or Rin's genetic material is so precioussss that Obito will not let anything defile it; even Edo Tensei-ing. It must be preserved for his touch only at night to go to sleep.

! How is it possible for dead Hokage to run out of chakra lol
! How is it possible for dead Hokage to run out of chakra lol
Probably not a chakra thing and just a they can't handle all four at once at the same time thing.
! So now that the zombies are in the good side now they don't have the infinite chacra bullshit.
Okay:getlost:

Just to make sure we're on the same page, these bijuu thingies you mentioned are the random blobs the Juubi spawned? And there's four of them. There's also four Hokage, the first four in all history who are said to be monsters and gods among shinobi. And those four guys can't handle four Juubi blobs? Well, given the rest of the story that actually sounds legit.

Good god
I didn't think Obito could become any more pathetically terrible, but there you go. At this rate all he has left to do is make some giant Rin Juubi creature, only it starts crying because it doesn't like what Obito is doing and its SO DEEP
Wait, where's Hiruzen? We haven't seen him for a while now.

No idea. This is the script line. There's pictures too that you can find online if you look. But it makes no sense to me.
! Obito [rising through the sky]: This world died long ago…
Flower Monster begins to prepare four bijuudamas.

STAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING
I thought we were done with the fucking Juubi fodder spawn. And its still the rafflesia variant that looks like utter ass? Christ.
Oh I get it now, Obito is throwing a surprise party for Naruto's birthday, but he's acting like he's really mad about Rin's death on the same day. Man, Kishimoto really had me going with that mediocre symbolism shit.
Actually, the idea to make Obito attack on Rin´s death anniversary is not that bad, even if you guys make fun of it, but the problem is that Obito´s reason for doing all this shit is already so ridiculous in the first place that every thing Kishi might do right concerning his character is overshadowed by that and in turn looks ridiculous itself.

The other problem is that it's so predictable at this point and it's all being shoved in at the last minute. But yeah, if this was paced well and mentioned earlier… it would've been better.

Flower Monster begins to prepare four bijuudamas.
Got no idea either. Must be a new variant of blobs Obito creates in the chapter then.
I get it… This is a premonition that Sakura will die. Or did she already die, but just no one noticed?
If I've understood correctly, Obitos lifelong ambition is to create a holographic simili of a dead 13 year old girl he crushed on, so that he can have the perfect life with her he felt got taken from him. Only Obito is at least 30 fucking years old, and is ready to annihilate the entirety of humanity over said ambition.
EPIC VILLAIN

lol. It's even more hiliarously creepy when you realize Obito keeps flashing back to a 12 year old Rin, at that.

so in other words, padding. Aw well, thanks for the spoilers.
It means that the reason he attacked the village that day is because he wanted revenge on Minato for not saving Rin… he wanted Kushina to die on the same day as Rin.
"Yes, it's completely Minato's fault that Rin died even though he wasn't there at the time. So it's fitting that, on the anniversary of the death of the girl I had a crush on and who barely spoke to me, I should kill his wife of many years with whom he's now having a child."
Kishi clearly doesn't care anymore. He's stopped putting his soul into this manga a long ass time ago. So why the fuck is he stalling so much?
It really is a shame that Tobi ended up being Obito. Obito changed from being a pretty cool character in kakashi's backstory to the worst and dullest villain in Naruto. He's so pathetic that I just want someone to take him out behind the barn and put him down.
So now Obito is a pedo to add to all that is wrong with his character…if anything, that is a check on the plus side for him...
Obito doesn't need ultimate power and world domination, he just needs one of those creepy japanese love-pillows with Rins face.
Lamest final boss ever.
Is it time for Kubos magnificent return yet? Or is that next issue?
Wait, apparently it was a mistranslation. Only Kushina was mentioned, no mention of Rin in that part.
Well, Obito is still beyond terrible. But we've god knows how many more chapters of him, so lets wait and see if Kishi does continue to ruin him.
@The:
Is it time for Kubos magnificent return yet? Or is that next issue?
Sadly, neither. He comes back some time in September; I forget what week we're on.

I think they said Bleach was coming back September 9th, right? So that we means we'll get it around September 4th.
I'm pretty sure Obito didn't launch the 9 tails just so Kushina can die and thus get revenge on Naruto's dad.
He launched the 9 tails to attack the Leaf Village on the day of Rin's death, and that event was I guess was done for "symbolic" purposes. Kushina died because she was trying to stop the 9 tails.
I mean, I can understand for "dramatic" purposes why he'd want to do it on those days, I just find it frustrating because it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, this wasn't really brought up before or hinted at before (though I'll give Auem credit for pointing out the flowers scene, there's nothing indicating that Obito purposefully did it on that day until now), and bringing it up now seems awkward too.

Damn. I'm starting to miss it; current Naruto is mostly aggravatingly terrible, Bleach is usually more enjoyably terrible.

Also, you gotta love Obitos hypocrisy
"I have a plan for INFINITE WORLD PEACE!
...Only first I'll raze my home village to the grown for absurdly petty revenge"
"No one will have to suffer as I suffered in my early days. Ever! Except when I'll kill them all because, oops, that's what it takes for me to get what I need."

17, actually. Although it doesn't make sense. Everything since Kakuzu and Hidan happened in much less than two month, not sure about the earlier parts of Part 2. Hell, Naruto's Senjutsu training last only like 2-3 days in total.
Kishi clearly doesn't care anymore. He's stopped putting his soul into this manga a long ass time ago. So why the fuck is he stalling so much?
He really likes the money?
Maybe that´s just his limit as storyteller, especially considering that true storytellers are kind of rare in the manga business, at least in the mainstream, which of course also has something to do with the circumstances of serializations.
I think it's both.
That he genuinely ran out of solid ideas after the Chunnin Exam, and spiraled out of narrative control and quality mostly over the excruciating course of the SasukeRetrieval arc. Tried using a timeskip to shock some ideas and narrative room back into his head and the manga, and it didn't work at all of course. But he soldiers on because it's a solid living and then some, and he probably has some contractual obligations as well that he's not Togashi enough to shirk. Plus lots of dumb or very young people still enjoy it.
His manga sucks, but poor Kishi, he really shouldn't be bashed.
Unlike Mashima or Kubotite.
If Kishimoto is such a failure as an mangaka (and he sure is) Shonen Jump should at least provide him some advisors. Either a competent editor or some co-writers to tell the poor bastard how to build a story.
Give the man some ideas, tell him not to step into the absurd so often, to not neglect the good secondary characters and slap him in the face every time he has a hard-on for Sasuke. That wont turn Naruto into a good manga but at least it wont be the joke it has been since the first years.
Thing is Kishimoto's volume sales and rankings in Jump are still holding strong. Bleach is an example of how sales and ranking can be used to tell an author's popularity, since both for Kubo are in decline. Sure we want things to change…but from a certain standpoint it doesn't have to, as long as people in Japan are enjoying the series.
Imagine how Obito would handle a breakup if he's trying to recreate the world over a deceased girl who had no feelings for him.
well, according to Chinese readers, the Rin part is just mistranslation…so one less thing to 'complain' about for you..
Naruto sells are pretty much intact from the sales listing i get from Oricon for the past five years...6M+...this year it will reach the mark too(2.9M in half year's estimation)...
The only reason Naruto is still popular is because it's near its end.
It's like why people decided to watch Star Wars III just to get it over with.
