So it's looking more and more like the blackening thing is CoA, I want it not to be, because I thought the whole vulcanization thing was clever, maybe it's a different technique though. Have we seen anyone other than people associated with G5 doing this (other than Luffy of course, but I'm still adamant that his is vulcanization)? Also, great chapter, I also assumed Momonosuke would look western, but I suppose oriental makes a lot more sense. Also Ceasar's flashback was great.

Wow armament hardeneng has some interesting effects on df users, did anyone notice smokers smoke hardened? I believe thats aerogel.
So armament can turn intangible tangible and harden material extremely.

Great, great chapter. The Ceasar part was long, and maybe redundant, but shed more light into this crazy fucker.
Smoker vs. Vergo, the very definition of short but SWEET. Between this and his fight vs. Sanji, Vergo is sure delivering great fights. Short ones, but with some really nice martial arts coreography and flow.
As a martial arts movie junkie, I can't help but LOVE the fuck out of these fights.
The one in this chapter is probably the best coreography Oda's given us since the Zoro vs. Human Kaku.
Sanji, Tashigi and G-5 are a nice, funny bunch.
As soon as Shinokuni appeared, I thought "let the bitching begin!". Thankfully, it hasn't appeared yet. Let's keep it that way, shall we?
Again, great chapter, great arc.
And props to the people that predicted Luffy would encounter Momonosuke.
I hope the only gripe with this arc, the emotional de-attachement the Strawhats and specially Luffy have with the current situation, gets solved with this meeting.

Anyway, I think what I liked most about this chapter was Smoker vs. Vergo in action. I've been saying it's Smoker that needs to take him down, to give him some fighting credibility back. And I'm satisfied thus far, Vergo's tough but he's not curbstomping Smoker. Hope ol' Smokey can win.
Meanwhile, the gas escapes and more Marines are petrified. Obviously Sanji and Tashigi will escape just fine, but I wonder how many G-5 Marines will have to suffer because of all this. It'd be great (to me) if Oda keeps them like this, heightens the sense of danger.
Caesar's flashback was also great, he's really a magnificant little bastard, isn't he? He lies to his men, saying that Vegapunk was the one that wanted to craft a chemical weapon, but of course it was him. Shame we didn't get to see Vegapunk, guess Oda will keep us waiting for now.
And my prediction about Luffy fighting dragon Momonosuke was…..half right, for now! Okay, it hasn't been confirmed yet, but I can't see it just being some regular dragon. Wonder if Luffy tried to eat it first, lol

Caesar's expressions are priceless my god. All the secret room panels & the one where he jumps to press the button in the flashback!
I dn't really see him working with the Don(well, he is a shichibukai) but perhaps Akainu tolerates their presence on PH in exchange for Caesar's 'dark' research. There must be someone higher covering all this coming and going (that Law comment on marines scheming still has not been addressed).
Liked Momonosuke's design & the Smoker/Vergo fight but why is he exploding things left and right near SAD or is it nonflammable. Nice chapter that needs a reread with CCC's translation.

Caesar is reminding me of Buggy and his merry band of inmates on their way out of Impel Down, fun stuff.
I get the feeling the fight between Vergo and Smoker won't conclude due to Caesar's schemes, which will be ruined by the wildcard that is currently Luffy.
Leave it to him to lay waste to carefully laid out plans.
So a few things I want to say:
I feel the need to point out that Coribou is a supernova, and that yarisugi is only a commodore with G5s two strongest obviously being out so it isn't really hard to believe that Corbiou will win
Also, just feel the need to say I TOLD YOU SO! in regards to Vergo not taking Sanji seriously as he wasn't using his bamboo to fight him, since he is using it against smoker who seems to be having more success in this fight than Sanji did against Vergo

It seems that the smoker vs vergo fight completely confirmed that the blackening ability that vergo was using was definately not a df ability at all, but instead another from of usage of busoshoku haki!

Oda is a genius, he introduces little details in mangas that actually hides messages for specific categories of people, here, He's trying to show us HOW CRAZY A SCIENTIST WAR COULD BE. Some scientists must go to jail for their bad doin' (experiences on weak n' poor humans, animals) etc…

-.The entire fight of Smoker vs. Vergo, but especially the final line by Smoker was great.
-The Tashigi/Sanji combination is actually pretty fun, especially with the G5 guys. Sanji's personality really isn't that exaggerated anymore and I enjoyed the "that's something society decided on. Pirates are free to do what they want." Joke, but still nice.
-Ceasar's expressions are really amusing. So, that's where the rest of the crew gets stuff to do when Luffy, finally shows up to beat up Ceasar. Those guys.
-Maps are always nice. I really enjoy when we get those, it gives a clearer picture of everything that's going on.
-We almost saw freaking Vegapunk, but sadly not really.
-Momonosuke(most likely) looks cute, but for some reason I thought he'd be at least the size of the other dragon.

Vergo doesn't seem to have a DF so far. He appears to have reinforced the bamboo staff and blew on it with crazy lung strenght.
The flashback didn't bothered to me but it was a bit redundant. We already knew that Caesar is a lying bastard, that he does not care a bit about his men and that he was the one who blew the gas bomb in the first place. But we have a bit more background about Vegapunk (he is not a heartless researcher, something that was not so obvious before)
I can't tell you how good it is to finally see Momonsuke, I can finally stop thinking that Kinemon might have cut down his own son.

This chapter was really well drawn, and I love all of Caesar's faces, but I must address how much of a tease Oda is. I saw the title and immediately got excited, then the flashback, then…nothing.
