Namco Bandai has confirmed that the character names are indeed being changed in localization, as if there was any doubt. But they're working with Shueisha on the name changes to get them as close to Araki's intentions as legally possible. Additionally the game will not be dubbed, retaining the original Japanese audio.

Part of me still doesn't get why it's such a legal problem. Maybe I'm just being thick, but I don't see how they're unjustly profiting from those musicians by naming characters and abilities after them. I can almost guarantee that no one is going to pick up the series accidentally thinking it's a Pink Floyd album.
I understand some of the shit is overt in Jojo, but, really, who has a claim on the word Echoes or the phrase "Red Hot Chili Peppers"? Fuck, wasn't "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" a reference to a Beany and Cecil gag? Where's Beany and Cecil's money? How do you own Dio? Dio not only is god, but his name is also the Italian word for god. Who owns god?
I doubt any of the musicians would care, anyways, besides Prince.

It might not be, but it's better off avoiding any legal proceedings, where the money really is. It's not about actually winning the case but that the case'll drag until they lose a huge amount of money.

Sadly any company is going to take precautions to not be involved in a legal proceeding. As said, it isn't the matter if they'd win or not. Getting sued is something to avoid period.

Depending on whether you preorder it on Amazon or at the Namco Store you get either DLC Character Shigekiyo Yangu or Yoshikage Kira for free. Also Killer Queen's been renamed to Deadly Queen for the US release. -

Anyone downloaded the demo on PSN? I had the hardest time defeating Wamuu with Caesar but I did manage to defeat him. Also does anyone know how to taunt with characters? Its not as easy as J-Stars with taunting with R3 and I'm trying to figure out what button to press….

It's funny how Avdol went out like a bitch twice in the manga but yet in the demo he's incredibly cheap.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

Avdol's impossible to beat. He just spans the Crossfire Hurricane and when you get close he uses Red Bind every single time. I hope this is just a demo bug.

I managed to beat him… but he was definitely the toughest to beat by far. Gotta get in with those grabs I guess and pray you can start a combo up otherwise and that he doesn't use red bind.

I mean, sure it's a spoiler and it's out of the bounds of what the anime has covered… but basically, all things considered and the nature of the game as well as the age of the part... pretty much anything that can be discussed in this thread outside of Parts 1 and 2 could potentially be big spoilers.
I suppose we could put more things for Part 3 specifically in tags, but one of the big mysteries reading through Part 3 was what Dio's stand does or what Star Platinum is capable of, and, well, that's already out of the bag in a discussion of the game too. And doesn't really help the anime only people when we still discuss Parts 4-8.
