Think all the issues I had were mentioned. There's one more, but I do think there are a lot of funny moments, and I don't think it's awful, just not as good as the rest of the season, though I feel this season has been knocking them out of the park, whereas this seems more like an okay season 1 episode. The Love God was more likable than I expected. As mentioned, Stan's subplot was amazing, and I laughed at the scenes with Robbie's parents.
As for the last gripe…
! it goes back to Thompson. I know this situation is a real thing, and I could just be too critical, but I wasn't that happy Dipper was also picking on Thompson to fit in. It's part of the group dynamics, and Thompson's both a good sport, a bit of a masochist due to insecurities, and he does seem aware of the situation so his actions could be exaggerated for comedic effect so the rest of the gang can make him an easy target, but it still made me feel uneasy. The final scene had Thompson rally the gang back together, and it was a nice moment for him…to an extent. It just brings it back to having a character willingly filling that role in a group, and that seems like an odd message.
! And with Dipper making fun of Thompson, the show's showing how picking on someone else can help you fit in, which is uncomfortably true and shown without issue which is a bit unsettling given it's a kids show.
