Aha! A worthy challenger lol. But i'm afraid i must refrain from discussing this here, as it is against the forum rules.
But, I suppose you should know that.
Just know, that when you support the wrong side, justice will eventually prevail.
Indeed. I'm still wondering where to go though.
But no, I do not think any minks will join his crew. One will definitely become his ally.
I don't "perceive" private messaging.

You mean Crocodile?
His womanhood still isn't confirmed but… yeah, he's not going to be a strawhat.
Why are you always so serious? Loosen up a bit. Please. Don't take every single post you read around here so damn seriously.
-
I really don't like this major villain turning into major ally mentality. I blame DB for that.

You mean you don't like Vegeta? Haha.
Yeah, but I agree. I don't really want to see it happening in OP. And apart from not wanting it to happen, I also don't think Oda has that in mind. -

Lol. You don't know me very well do you. Please, look at my avatar, and assume I'm making most of my statements with that sort of expression.
Also, please check any of the April fools threads, or the Naruto thread, or really, any thread other than this one. I've made thousands of posts over the years, most of them are silly.
You also missed the joke of getting around mentioning Monet (Who the quoted post was taking about) by mentioning woman Crocodile instead. I'm sorry if the jokes are (and I'mmaking a ton of them) are going over your head. You've been here since 2006, how do you not know some of the running gags and old arguments and ebb and flow of this place?
But to answer your question. There's plenty of room for silliness. It's encouraged even. But pure idiocy that's taken seriously, (and at length) not so much.
-
My bet is on Mr. Crocodile being a former Okama, though not a native of the Kamabakka Kingdom.
-
Croc was a girl, not an Okama. Its why "he" looks so feminine in the childhood picture, and why we only saw the back of "his" head in chapter 0.

The pursuit of knowledge is not strong in this one. That would explain quite a lot…
Also, about the stuff about croc. Do we think Oda's going to actually reveal that in the story?

"you see one who lets go and lets flow and think them weak and lacking": Child Logic
Letting go of particular desires is okay. That can have a purpose, but to "let go" of something important shows a lack of foresight. Messaging someone in private(when you want to have some sort of none thread related conversation) is part of your duty as a mod. Some conversations -Like this particular conversation- need to take place at the correct time and place. It's time is now and you seem to understand that. The place is not here, as Desa and many others have explained. The fact that you are unwilling to compromise shows your inability to learn, and- more importantly- you lack of desire in obtaining new knowledge.
You should work on that. Unless, as I suspect, you have an ulterior motive for wanting the conversation here. . The power of numbers is indeed a thing.
Related to the thread: I'm actually hoping the SH add another "villain" to their crew. I'm in need of someone who's not quite as pure and innocent.

Gif posting, let alone really weak ones are like six years old as a thing. Unique they are not.

Private Message discussions are a rare and wonderful thing meant for kindling deeper understanding between faraway peoples and lands.
Not to be used lightly, the urge to do so and avoid the spotlight is weak and addictive.
This must be let go.Messaging someone in private(when you want to have some sort of none thread related conversation)

Had Caesar failed to conquer Gaul, would western civilization as we know it have ever come to be? 2. Actually, I understand the purposes of using the forum's as a stage. I have been- and still am- using it to convey my message and change the forums for the better. What is your ulterior motive for wanting the spotlight?
3. As desa explained our conversation has no relevance to this thread. I could potentially be banned, so i'm making sure everyone understands i'm willing to have a private conversation. I trust though, that you won't let this happen and therefore will continue forward with my main goal of changing the forums for the better.
4. As Foolio explained to me(a Gold admin), "If you need to talk to the staff about something else, please use private messages". Unless you feel this relates to the thread this would be your job.
5. Your ability to argue seems heavily reliant on your ability to argue using ad hominem. Yet, that is actually considered a logical fallacy, and one of the worst ways to convey your point. Come on, you can do better I know.
6. Which gets to my point, all member(new or old) and their ideas should be treated with respect as per the forums rules.

This is your time to join the fight, people. The inability for Mods to follow the rules of the forum, yet ban those who don't follow the rules shows the corruption in the forum ranks. If you regularly feel like you can't say what you think or that you always have to watch what you say, out of fear you're gunna get trolled, now is the time to fight back. It's time to make this forum a pleasant place to be, and not a place where it's okay to put down anyone who doesn't share your views. This will have to start at the top, with the mods. If they can't be nice, we can't expect them to enforce the same from others.
Even if you don't care, because this doesn't effect you, keep in mind that the forum needs a constant supply of new members. If new people join and feel like this place is too hostile for them to express their views, they will undoubtedly not want to post. This effects everyone and is the reason the rules of the forum are as such.

Like I mean, this is just pure unnecessary instigation of problems that don't need to exist. Discussing Monet was already pure unnecessary instigation of a conversation that has no foothold and was already wasting everyone's time (and sanity). But now it's some kind of weird ass white knighting against a problem that doesn't even exist.
I think he seriously can't comprehend that if you say dumb things, people will respond to you as if you are dumb. And I'm willing to bet that I'm going to get some kind of response somewhere along the lines of "still not getting it" and "you're trolling/raise arms my brothers".
None of this shit is relevant to anything. It's just annoying.
"Let's talk about Monet!" No one is.
"The mods are against me!" Everyone is. -
lol. You guys want to ban me because I made a few posts you don't agree with and argued your points against(agreed on some as well) them.
It's okay though, as many have mentioned to me, "resistance is futile". So I hit up the admins, to explain the situation and see if I can affect some positive change. Not usually my style but you're leaving me with little choice.

This is an opinion. I explained why it has some footholds, and also explained why it might not. Whether it's a waste of time or not is purely opinion, as others also brought up Monet. Clearly not everyone is in agreement.

The bans are mostly done on a quota basis as per the first generation rules (which are grandfathered in over the current second gen rules on a need to know basis).
Each mod needs to ban about three people per week, it may simply be a matter of filling that quota. Don't fight what you have no control over.4. As Foolio explained to me(a Gold admin), "If you need to talk to the staff about something else, please use private messages". Unless you feel this relates to the thread this would be your job.
Foolio is silver. Which means he's in charge of designing the forums icons like the "reply" button and the check mark boxes you may have seen here and there.
He's privy to some of the laws and rules beyond the layman scope though that's true.5. Your ability to argue seems heavily reliant on your ability to argue using ad hominem.
Third Gen rules mean Ad Hominem is not a recognized fallacy on Arlongpark.net.
Yet, that is actually considered a logical fallacy, and one of the worst ways to convey your point. Come on, you can do better I know.
Not according to the "Red" rules.
6. Which gets to my point, all member(new or old) and their ideas should be treated with respect as per the forums rules.
Those are the second gen non-shadow rules. Subject to override on select first gen rules and citations, and soon to be overwritten by third gen or "Red" rules. Phase Red is being phased in by the Brown team as we speak.
You simply don't have clearance or access to fully grasp what the rules are.
As to the shadow rules those are free to all who can realize them. Also there's the "Brown Town" rules which brown stars are subject to. We have greater freedoms, but also greater responsibilities. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
This is true regardless of "Shadow rules", which-in fact- aren't rules. lol
Shadow rules override all generations and other sorts of rules except for Brown Town.
Youre treading in dangerous water if you expect allies on this.
There's so many more layers and social superstructures to this place, you really just don't know.

I've long since tuned out of this debate, but from a purely rational standpoint, I feel like I must come down on the side of The Rules. Not subliminal or hidden rules or anything -sorry to spoil everyones fun, but I feel like this has gone on for longer than it needs.
I.E. If Joy Boy is to be banned it must be due to infraction of the forum rules, not because people disagree with him, and many find him annoying.
So….
@Robby:Because I'm not allowed to just ban people for annoying me anymore, or being dumb, when they aren't actually breaking any official rules.

Lets not turn this into a BURN THE WITCH mob-mentality show Robby. I don't agree with the vast majority of Joy Boys theories, but banning him because well, people seem to want it? We should be better than that.
@Jazzy:

None of this shit is relevant to anything. It's just annoying.
The problem is: How do you determine that? Who gets to decide what is dumb? Majority vote? When is something "dumb enough" that we can just dispense with niceties and be crass and hostile about it, and dismiss a person outright?
Monet for nakama is a dumb idea that is never going to happen, but bringing up said idea, especially for a new poster, is not a bannable offense.Like, I'm part of the university science revue, on my fifth year. Every year we get new members who will try their hand at songs and sketches for the first time. And they will turn up with overdone clichés and ideas that were already spent a year before, and are never gonna make it into the show. But we don't go "No! We're not gonna use that idea. Its been done. End of discussion" because thats a terrible way to get new members invested; people get to argue their idea and work on it, and then have it respectfully not chosen in the end. My song about Science in Nazi Germany didn't make it last year and many disliked it, but no one stopped me from writing it, or kicked me out for writing it. Besides, theres a turnover to these things; at some point it becomes unfair to go "no, X is off the table, we did it Y years before you even joined".
Now, Joy Boy may very well have insulted all of you and your mothers as far as I know, but can we try not to ban him for "arguing an annoying theory that we thought we were done with before he joined".
-
@Monkey:
…
I can already see that you have changed to a more politically correct style. Progress feels good.
Monet will also not join the Strawhats.
I never said she would. I said it was possible. The distinction is important. In the grand scheme I agree that she won't join, given all the evidence. However, it's not ruled out yet.
-
I don't think he is being serious.
-
@Daz:
…
Thank you Daz.
I also want to say that the vast majority of my beliefs are congruent with everyone else. What I have posted about though is what I feel like is not set in stone or commonly agreed upon. It's this stuff which can really be the subject of debate and discussion; As opposed to other commonly believed things which would only inspire agreement in the majority.
Regardless, harassing me because you don't agree is not okay. And not allowing me to make a thread out of a preconception my views themselves aren't worthy of a thread is insulting. I have proven my thread wasn't even read in full, therefor you can't determine it not worthy of a thread.

Who is afraid of Monkey King? Plenty of members have debated him. You are no different. Monkey King and the other admins are actually pretty knowledgeable about One Piece so if you are confronted then you better bring out some proof like foreshadowing, history of the One Piece world, real life contemporaries, etc. There are other "theories" that don't have "proof" but haven't been disproved that are accepted for discussion like colors of nakamas, devil fruit number, different races, mirroring of BB pirates, etc. I'm sure most if not all of this you know already so stick to that.

Okay…as long as we are on the same page. Let this end. NOW. I want some actual REAL thread related discussion. Not you defending yourself for paragraphs then one sentence related to the thread.
-
You're making this thread into a personal discussion that people aren't really interested in.
-
Before I go on with this, just one thing I want to say. There's a point where one should stop responding to others, and it has gone long past that. Just make your point, if you feel expand on it if there is discussion value. Once you know people aren't going to listen to it, just drop it and continue on your way. So lets drop all discussion about what the rules are and any perceived injustice there is at the moment, and lets stay on topic. It's either that, or this thread might be closed again for a while, or perhaps forever. Now for the topic at hand.
A number of pages back I noticed someone saying that with Jimbei, there is still one more crewmate that needs to be filled. I have to ask where this idea has come from, cause I don't think it is necessarily true. The first one that comes to mind is how near the beginning, Luffy said ten people would be enough. So far we have Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, and then Jimbei basically confirmed at this point. That's nine crew members and then Luffy makes ten total. However, it's hard to take that part seriously, seeing how so much has changed since then. A series that was supposed to be 5 years long is going on 15 soon. Robin was originally not going to be a crew member until Oda changed his mind. Things change so much that taking that number from the first few chapters isn't one we can use to determine the number.
The other idea might be how people say Black Beard is the opposite of Luffy, and that since they are being built up as the final pirate villains that each member will take on one of the commanders. Fine idea in theory, but there is not much to go off of in my opinion. Sure, Black Beard and Luffy have the same drea, but different outlooks which makes for a good conflict between them. However, that doesn't go for the rest of the crew. Perhaps if there was more to go off of between the members we could say that each straw hat member would fight a specific person, but that doesn't seem the case. The best we can say is that Usopp is a sniper, and there is a sniper on BB crew which means they should fight each other. Even then, there isn't much conflict between the members. Both crews have a doctor, but many crews seem to have a doctor. There's nothing there to say that there has to be an equal number of straw hats to crew commanders.
So the main thing comes to will Oda have any new crew members and when will he. I stated earlier that I believe that we won't be getting any more members. One problem lately is that Oda hasn't been able to use the crew members very well for the most part. We've gotten plenty of Franky, and Usopp had a great moment in Dressrosa, but the rest are lacking. Add in that Brook has been MIA for a while and he needs more time to shine. Another thing to factor is what else Oda has to focus on at some point. We still have a number of Supernovas to learn about their backstory. Most likely we will learn more about Bonney, as there as been foreshadowing of her having great importance. Kidd most likely will have focus, seeing how he was standing with Law and Luffy and Saobody. Then we still have to learn about Devil Fruits, Dr. Vegapunk, Meet Green Bull, have arcs focused on the Yonko with build up to them, there is just so much to do to add backstory for more new characters. There's already so much and Oda seems to be having trouble focusing on the crew already, that he may decide to not add any new crew mates. He can have some new characters with quirks and wacky designs, but then have them become allies for the end of story stuff.
In the end, Oda could weave a new character with backstory in for an arc, and then have them join. The main problem is there hasn't been any indication of having a newly introduced character joining for a while. We had Jimbei and now it has been silent for a while. If we don't get a new possible crew mate in the next arc or two, I have doubts that Oda ever intends to have a new crew mate. Then again, as with Robin, he could decide to make a character into a crew mate. It depends on what he decides to do and how he feels about how things are going now as far as crew dynamic is concerned.

The problem is that I have been trolled repeatedly by Monkey King and Robby, for my views about "Monet for Nakama". Robby has muted me and Monkey King is refusing to PM me. I have no place to have this discussion privately. The trolling has got to stop, and since Monkey King wants me to converse about it here, and not via PM, thats what I have been doing.
If they stop trolling me, I have no reason to complain about it, and therefore can desist. Daz commenting and my message to the Admins may prove helpful. I'll wait to see if/ how Monkey King responds, but if he continues to try and justify his actions, I will do the same. If not, it will end. It's Monkey Kings decision. If you want this to end, as I said B4, convince Monkey King(and others) that it's not okay to troll/ harass people even if you think they are dumb. That is all i'm doing here.
I can't stop till the problem is solved.
You're making this thread into a personal discussion that people aren't really interested in.
I'm not necessarily doing that, I have stated i'm willing to discuss it privately. Again, Monkey King is forcing my hand.

So…I see we are bringing up possible nakamas pre-timeskip. I think I read transgender Crocodile and Enel. Aren't both of those murderers that we as readers saw in the manga? Robin doesn't count as a counterpoint as we didn't see her actually kill someone...did we?
Plus I doubt we get two nakamas from the same overarching arc in Robin and Crocodile. Plus Crocodile and Chopper have same first letter in first name.
Enel would make for an excellent lookout though. Telescope would make sense for him sense he actually has been to space. I think now that the Monster Trio knows haki they may ALL be able to beat him one on one...but that is debatable. I don't think he will join but he would put the Strawhats over the top. He can protect them from the skies. Jinbe protects them in the sea. Shame he has blonde hair like Sanji
Edit:Plus one of his quirks could be rapping:ninja: Would give him and Brook a bond.

@The:
In a debate, a resolution should be reached. This could be complete agreement or understanding where the differences in opinion can not be counseled. I have never argued past that point with any forum member.
A number of pages back I noticed someone saying that with Jimbei, there is still one more crewmate that needs to be filled. I have to ask where this idea has come from, cause I don't think it is necessarily true.
The idea is that it's 10 nakama(friends) therefore Luffy shouldn't have counted himself. So, that would make 11 total crew mates.
I don't think the SH crew have to be opposites of the BB crew. It might end up the case - we just don't know enough about the BB crew- but I can't really see any theme that would suggest they would have to be opposite.
I agree, but as I said the interpretation is 11 straw hats. Perhaps Oda meant only 10, though, there is evidence to suggest that might be the case as you have mentioned.
I completely agree. Outside of some speculation on Monet that has it's share of holes, there is no one that really fits. Kin'emon has the best chance as of right now, because we don't know where he stands in regards to his homeland, and if he has any unique dream that would make him a suitable long term SH.

@Daz:
The problem is: How do you determine that? Who gets to decide what is dumb? Majority vote? When is something "dumb enough" that we can just dispense with niceties and be crass and hostile about it, and dismiss a person outright?
Monet for nakama is a dumb idea that is never going to happen, but bringing up said idea, especially for a new poster, is not a bannable offense.Admittedly, there's no way I can argue that being crass or rude is justifiable in regards to dumb posts. So basically you're right and that's pretty much the end of the conversation.
But in this case it's completely de-railed the entire thread and has basically made this thread become "Come watch frustrated members lose their patience as Joy Boy preaches from his pedestal on high". Frustration makes people rude and rudeness isn't acceptable in any scenario, you are correct. But I wouldn't think needlessly stirring the masses, arguing for the sake of argument and not for the sake of any kind of constructive discussion (he literally admits that Monet probably won't join the crew on this very page!), hiding behind the rules but still provoking hostile responses with snide remarks thinly veiled behind irrelevant gifs would be protected under the rules either. It just seems like a lot of needless spamming.
To be frank, everyone is at fault here for something save for a (very few) handful of posters that have remained reasonable throughout. Neither side has been constructive, this thread has just (as it usually does) devolved into a cesspool of non-constructive garbage.
But I do apologize for being a part of the problem. Personally, I think a thread ban would have been fair though. A full ban would have been a bit much.
Like, I'm part of the university science revue, on my fifth year.
Holy crap, a song about the Science of Nazi Germany? >_>
Now Daz, I actually respect you so I apologize if this at all sounds condescending, I swear I'm not intending for it to sound this way but… What inspired you to come up with that idea? I'm legitimately curious.
Again... not trying to sound condescending.~

Robin doesn't count as a counterpoint as we didn't see her actually kill someone…did we?

Enel..
Nope! Didn't see Robin kill anyone. However, we haven't seen many total deaths in OP at all as Robby has pointed out in the past.
Agree about the Crocodile comment, solid point! Also, I don't think crocodile fits for other reason.
I love Enel haha he's such an interesting and badass looking character. I hope he returns to the story.
@Jazzy:
Admittedly, there's no way I can argue that being crass or rude is justifiable in regards to dumb posts. So basically you're right and that's pretty much the end of the conversation.
Thats all i'm saying.
But in this case it's completely de-railed the entire thread and has basically made this thread become "Come watch frustrated members lose their patience as Joy Boy preaches from his pedestal on high". Frustration makes people rude and rudeness isn't acceptable in any scenario, you are correct. It wasn't needless. People were rude before I did anything that can be interpreted as spamming, and i'm working towards getting that to stop. I'm not hiding behind rules, i'm explaining that people aren't following them and why it's important to do so. I don't argue just to argue. I argue in order to explain why I believe something true.
To be frank, everyone is at fault here for something save for a (very few) handful of posters that have remained reasonable throughout. Neither side has been constructive, this thread has just (as it usually does) devolved into a cesspool of non-constructive garbage.
I feel I have been constructive, and reasonable throughout(minus some lapses in some posts, which I attribute to Monkey King further trying to disrespect me and say that i'm not justified). I just don't think a lot of posters understand what i'm saying and why i'm saying it. Regardless, let's rectify this.
But I do apologize for being a part of the problem. Personally, I think a thread ban would have been fair though. A full ban would have been a bit much.
Thx, i'm not the type to hold grudges and i'm hopeful other's aren't as well. Again though, there's no reason to ban me from the thread. I wasn't the one who was forcing the conversation to take place here, it was Monkey King. Even if I was banned from this thread, I would have had to use another one in which Monkey King had commented on to discuss this, because he won't PM me.
Now Daz, I actually respect you so I apologize if this at all sounds condescending, I swear I'm not intending for it to sound this way but…
As Daz and I have said, you should outwardly respect all members. Otherwise you get what you see happened here.

I understand the idea is 10 nakama plus Luffy (my fault for not making that clear). I was wondering where that idea has come from. I don't recall what Kinemon has for a dream. The harder thing to take is that we never had a character who was with the group for multiple arcs before becoming a crew mate. Sure, we didn't learn about Robins past until another arc, but she didn't go on multiple adventures before coming a mate. The closest one I would say being like a crew mate is Law, but he isn't going to become an official one.

Shut the fuck up
PS
You can count it as my hand raising Robby -
I am still of firm belief that if someone else joins their role will be important. As I have stated recently one's role connects to one's dream. No general role will be coming especially with prominent roles like helmsman, lookout, and cabin boy:ninja: still not filled.
I started playing Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag recently (I know I'm late) and a good helmsman seems to be really important. Granted it is not that hard to steer in the game but that is in NORMAL simulated weather. There isn't multiple tornadoes, fire on water, Sea Kings, mountain sized tidal waves, or pretty much whatever your imagination can think of bound by One Piece logic. I don't know if Franky or anyone else can steer well enough even following Nami's guidance or with Jinbe helping control the waves to not crash the ship when things get really rough. Plus Burgess is a helmsman which would support those who believe in the BB mirroring Strawhats theory.
Lookout I have no clue how that can be filled. Only the past with Luffy and Usopp telling Zoro and Robin they are bad lookouts which seems to point that a good lookout is actually something Luffy wants. Luffy usually gets what he wants (where is his bronze statue in his boat?) but perhaps Usopp could fill that role. He would be a good lookout…though maybe not the lookout Luffy would want because Usopp would try to avoid the dangerous looking islands and creatures.
I hope it is 12 members instead of the aforementioned 11. Then both roles can be in crew. But I understand the whole need to develop the other crewmates who haven't got enough screen time.
PS: Oda's love for football(soccer) is another reason the 11 total crewmates is believed to maybe be true.

Oh, okay aha ya, it was because Luffy said 10 early in the series. A lot of people just see that as foreshadowing. It doesn't make it true though. If you're asking why we think it's 10+ Luffy, that has to do with logical reasoning about how someone would say how many crewmates they wanted. Usually, someone wouldn't include themselves.

Ya, a lot of people here claim that their opinion are fact, but, ultimately, any speculation on the future could be-at best-extremely likely. I Just think BB, as the final singular villian for Luffy(I don't think they will fight him last, imo that would be the World Government as a whole. I think Luffy will fight the WG after he becomes the Pirate King and that defeating Blackbeard would be the last obstacle before finding the OP and offically becoming the Pirate King) would have to showcase the straw hats "final forms". Which is to say, "this is the result of 25 years of manga". That would be best done if each SH had a legit enemy to fight 1 vs. 1. It's not fact, but it makes sense.
Like I said before, Oda has changed certain things up quite a bit. The major stuff I believe is the same, but a number of things has changed. I've often wondered how much of OP was already decided when Oda wrote the first chapter, and what has changed. One thing that I know was added after the fact was that Oda originally hadn't intended for the Going Merry to "die". I'm of the opinion that the Sunny is pluton for various reasons, so I wonder if Oda added the ancient weapons after he wrote chapter one. I don't know if we will ever find out. =[

Ya, kin'emon hasn't had any dream revealed yet. Other themes suggest that if he were to have one we would already know… but as you say, its possible Oda has switched it up. He may be similar to Vivi, with his ultimate role taking place in the Wano kingdom before leaving the SH pirates.

Wasn't Franky called the Helmsman by some OP document? What was the verdict on that?
Luffy definitely needs a cabin boy haha, but I wonder what role a cabin boy would have in battle… i'm not sure.

Croc was a girl, not an Okama. Its why "he" looks so feminine in the childhood picture, and why we only saw the back of "his" head in chapter 0.
Ah, how I forget those details. Appreciate it.

I see where you coming with the helmsman, but a few problems I see with that. We've had a lot of story time where they've come to some crazy situations in the water and got through fine. With the lack of sea focus and usually islands having more crazy aspects, I don't see a helmsman needing to be necessary. Plus, Franky seems to have implemented certain systems, so he probably knows how to best handle the ship. I feel that Look out might be negated with a few of the crew having CoO. Plus Jimbe could swim and get a better look of the surroundings.

I think this will be the case, but that doesn't mean that there needs to be an actual 1:1 fight for all the BB commanders. I could possibly see San Juan Wolf being the one not fighting a straw hat, as he would need many to take him down (I believe it was stated it took fleets of ships to take him down.

For sure, haha. If there was 1 that they wouldn't have to fight it would be him, I agree. I'm not even sure who would be a suitable matchup for him, except for Luffy's new armada?

I have to ask where this idea has come from, cause I don't think it is necessarily true. The first one that comes to mind is how near the beginning, Luffy said ten people would be enough.
English translations will vary, but the legitimate ones going off the japanese original have Luffy say he wanted ten FRIENDS, not just "ten total".
Blackbeard's group now has 10, plus BB. (But not counting Stronger the horse.)
Oda loves soccer and he's made references to the Strawhats being such a team, and soccer has 11 players.
It was confirmed in some interview recently (databook? I forget) that "two will join in fast succession."
There's other stuff but those are the highlights off the top of my head.

@Mr.:
Ah, how I forget those details. Appreciate it.
It's still deliberately very ambiguous. According to a long ago post in the Inspirations thread Croc may be based on a video game character who was a warrior 'with the soul of a woman'.
Personally I think it would be amazing if Croc did change his original gender and his life story totally deserves it's own book.On the other hand it would be hilarious if he was a repressed okama (who finally transitions from current not-enemy to ally by bonding with the secret okama many believe Sanji to be). It would be great if we finally get some kind of comedy out of his dead-pan looks.
But there's a long way to go yet before we find out.
