E3 2013

I'm still stunned. They nailed this at every point except for conceding ground on multimedia and Vita.
The Indie Spotlight alone would have placed them about XBONE for me.
But then the hammer blows. Sony hasn't had this much swagger in years, and for once, they've got swagger for the right reasons, supporting devs and gamers.
There is going to be some minor backlash about PSPlus tomorrow, but otherwise…what can you really criticize them for?
-
Well I'm sold!
I couldn't have been any more apathetic about the next gen before this press conference.
Now I actually plan on picking up a PS4 somewhere down the line, most likely when they release the first redesign. -
Sony won it for me. Getting a PS4. Screw the other two.
-
Well no DRM, and price point PS4 win.
Exclusive games department I give it to microsoft at moment. (don't know if KH3 or FF15 are exclusive or not, but even if they are, MIcrosoft might still win)
Just out of interest which exclusives did you like from ms? Like do you count titan fall as a exclusive?
-
$344…
kINGDOM HEARTS... I'M COMING FOR YOU.... I SWEAR I WILL HAVE YOU!!!
será mío~
-
And preorder placed. Now to just get the money to pay for it by the time it comes out.
-
Microsoft ass status: kicked.
-
…Wow. As much as I love Nintendo and am looking forward to the Direct tomorrow...Sony just won. By a LONGSHOT.
I love how they absolutely destroyed the new Xbox on everything that they did wrong. Seriously, how can anyone reasonably say the Xbox One is the better console now? I wasn't even biased toward either company before the new systems were announced, but now there is no question: Sony wins. Period. Xbox, unless you take back everything you said before and start all over, you are screwed.
-
Sony had all of PS3's mistakes to learn from - now Microsoft will have all of Xbone's mistakes to learn from too.
Whats the bet Microsoft is smashing on Gates door begging him to come back and save them.
-
Just out of interest which exclusives did you like from ms? Like do you count titan fall as a exclusive?
Is Titan not an exclusive? i thought it was.
But Microsoft showed plenty of NEW exclusive during theirs.
Most of Sony's we had already seen in their first conference. Infamous, Killzone, Knack
Their only two big games really this conference were KH3 and FF15 and i'm not even sure if they are exclusive or not.
-
No date pricepoints are 399€/$ and 349GP
Assuming this is accurate (the only way I've been following things is through this thread, so I wouldn't know), then out of curiosity, why is nobody lobbying the same complaints of not adjusting the price in Euros that were all over the place for Microsoft? Seems to be a slight double standard, is all.
-
So basically all we need now is just Nintendo to do their thing and we can start burying Microsoft in the fifty-foot hole they dug themselves into.
-
Sony's conference was an absolute disaster I think. No clue how someone can think they won shit. They showed the games they already showed as well as KH3 and FF Versus 13. That's it. Five exclusives, 3 of which we already knew about and 2 which have a history of being delayed a lot. Sure, they don't have the used game stuff and drm but they have no games. There is no reason whatsoever, for me at least, to get a PS4. I was not expecting Microsoft's conference to outshine Sony's at all. I am legitimately surprised. Of course I'm not getting either, but my brother's getting the Xbone and I'll play multiplats on that if they're not on PC. Sony choked big time.
-
Here, this is an OFFICIAL video from Sony how to lend your games to a friend on PS4.
-

Well Titan fall is also coming to pc but if you only play on console it might as well be an exclusive that's why I'm asking.
That spark thing is also coming to pc. -
-

Serioulsy all Microsoft has to do is remove their DRM, used games and online 24 connectivity thing and they will be perfectly fine.
Sure their price is $100 more, but considering its packed with Kinect 2.0 I can see how its more expensive. But really all Sony had this conference were dissing Microsoft on those aspects, and then SE's showing, which is still under scrutiny on whether exclusive or not.
At moment yes, PS4 wins big time due to DRM, used games and what not, but I just find it weird that those are even issues. Stupid microsoft for even starting it and bringing it up. It should have never been an issue.
-
Thing is, Sony barely played any of their first-party cards at this thing. I'm sure it's going to be the typical first-year drought for games, but now that Sony has such a great indie relationship, it's going to fill that space with incredible smaller experiences. And then things kick into gear.
-
Axel relishes in the burn Sony gave Xbox
quemar~ -
Sony's conference was an absolute disaster I think.
How out of touch are you
They have no DRM, they are fostering great relationships with independent developers, like as far as the whole package is concerned this was a GREAT E3.

Because we at least in germany have taxes of almost 20% on electronics.
When I was complaining it was more about how high freaking high the price is in general. 400€(it's stil 530$ but it's on the border of acceptable) is way easier to swallow. Might just get a us model though if there is no region lock. -
Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming out FINALLY.
Sony has come out swinging in this generation's console war.
-

That spark thing is also coming to pc.Ah well for most part if its Xbox and PC I consider it exclusive enough. I mean you will be playing it on a microsoft system of some sort. Whether its Xbox or Windows.
Also it seems huge fanboys never seem to have a PC anyways and only care about consoles, so
-

They also have no games. Xbone has shitty DRM and the PS4 has no games. They both suck. Microsoft's conference was better.
-

They… showed nothing but games.
They just didn't show anything you care about I guess? But you are seriously out of touch so badly jesus.
-
A bunch of shitty indie games, a few of which I can already play on PC, a few multiplats, three exclusives we already knew about and two Square Enix games that have been delayed for forever.
-
They showed at least ten games in one fifteen-minute stretch. Do indie games not count?

Ugh. Never mind.
I think we're done here.

Microsofts was definately more enjoyable.
Though they still have that drm, used games and what not in the background. As much as I enjoyed their conference due to being just basically trailer, demo, trailer, demo, ect after one another non stop, i still have zero interest in buying the system.
mainly due to the coolest looking games I saw are coming for PC and my PC is a beast so no worries.
The other reason is the stupid ass DRM and used game policy. not a huge deal cause I always buy new, but still a huge turn off. -

I had thought that the complaints were more about the discrepancy between the price points for U.S. and Europe, rather than (or at least in addition to) complaints simply about how expensive it was in general, which I can definitely get behind.
-
Oh boy… I sense console war in the air pls don't do this. Just ignore those that can't articulate their negativity without sounding crude.
-

Da Nile is a river in Egypt.

Dude, PLEASe tell me you're trolling. What games does Microsoft have that you can call "more and better" than Sony? Sony showed ONLY games, they showed a lot of great games, not only sports and shooters! Is is EVERYTHING we wanted!
And yes, every console at launch has no games, is this your first console genreration premiere? And it looks like Sony will even have a lot of great titles at the start, so I seriously can't see ven one problems with the PS4 and Sonys presentation. -
Wow wow wow Sony absolutely nailed it at the end. Was literally fistpumping the air. That crowd reaction was beautiful! They've completely killed Microsoft; now all that's left is for Nintendo to bury them.
-
A bunch of shitty indie games, a few of which I can already play on PC, a few multiplats, three exclusives we already knew about and two Square Enix games that have been delayed for forever.
Because E3 is always a bastion of great exciting new game release news parallel to new consoles being released! That's what people were looking for!
Although quite a lot of people legit liked the look of some of those titles, like FFXV is getting some pretty hype reception as far as what they showed goes.
But for me it was everything related to the console and their plan to move ahead that sold and showed how badly they stomped over Microsoft's model.
-

not to mention not clear yet if SE games are exclusive or not.
But i was fine watching all the games they showed, well except Destiny and WatchDogs was too freaking long and got boring.
But did you guys forget all the multimedia talk and other stuff that took up half the conference.
-
Neither have many games I want. Most of the good stuff is multiplat. The only exclusive I saw that interested me at all was Sunset Overdrive for the Xbone. Not trying to start any console war stuff because neither console is very good but I was legitimately embarrassed watching Sony's conference.
-
If Sakonsolo feels the way he feels what's the big deal? Honestly, if it weren't for Square Enix I couldn't have cared less about Sony's conference. At the end of the day this is all subjective
suavizar~

Microsofts conference was 100% games. Sony spent lots of time discussing other things. They were definately not 100% games.
-
They also have no games.
Were we watching the same conference? They have over 100 titles coming out within the first year. A bunch of those I thought looked very good.
-
To be fair they had to do that multimedia crap. Still they mentioned community :P
In retrospect the smarter move would have been to do that segment at their reveal, but some things you can't foresee.
-
I'm not big on winning or losing E3, but not only did Sony beat MS, it was the most massive beatdown I've seen in the history of E3. DRM, used games, price point, more powerful hardware, and it seemed to me like a stronger exclusive lineup. I don't care what we knew already, the end result is still the end result.
I had a feeling Sony would go consumer centric on the DRM/used game thing, and I was really happy to see them come through on it.
-
The salt in this thread is somewhat satisfying. A good condiment for my meal after a great show. It's kinda funny the people here sporting the Xbone are not even buying the thing anyway. So why bother taking their comments seriously? Just sit back and taste the nice salt. The blood pressure is well worth it!

Last note from me, and a small one: I look forward to finding out what exactly "Drive Club: PS Plus Edition" is. "Enjoy this car, and this track!"
PSPlus offerings are going to be incredibly meager for the first year on PS4.

They should have done what Microsoft did and had a conference like last week or something getting all the mutlimedia and stuff out of hte way.
I would say also address the DRm and stuff, but announcing that stuff on stage just now was the main reason they curb stomped microsoft.

Most likely. A small bonus though if your a vita ps3 and future ps4 owner the combined + benefits might be enough to help ease the ps4 drought.

Microsoft did it at their reveal, sony couldn't do it like you say(staging another pre event), for one the cost wouldn't have been feasible for just that, logistically speaking it probably wouldn't have been easy either(like getting the press again right before E3) and also if they just did it nintendo direct style they wouldn't get as much attention as on the e3 stage.
But dunno I didn't like it either but it's no biggie in my eyes. Because the main points with drm and the pricepoint are so much more important. They presenting multi media is like 30 minutes(maybe less) them saying no drm will be for the entire generation, their pricepoint for at least a whole year.
Also sony has proven that they always have really great exclusives throughout the life cycle unlike ms(to be fair I don't care about halo nor gears). -
And with that, Sony PWNS Microsoft! XD

It's not like the multimedia stuff is inherently bad, seriously, the reason why microsoft got laughs over that is because it was 70% of their console reveal.
