Wow, of course work had to start the very day interesting news happen. Only now getting to watch the Pokemon X and Y trailer. Thoughts:
- Initially the starters repulsed me, but they're growing on me more and more. I like them more than the Gen. IV starters, but I'd place them at around the same level of likeablity as Gen. V starters. Which is not bad considering I really do like Gen. V starters, with the exception of Tepig since I find Pignite and Emboar as being horrible evolutions.
As for typing, I still think that if GameFreak had balls, they'd have the types for the starter's later evolutions be Grass/Fire, Fire/Water, Water/Grass. Then you'd really be messing around with a classic formula. - The legendaries are cool, but I really don't care much for legendaries. What I do hope is that this means that the games have a really solid storyline. I also really like the Mononoke deer thing, it looks rather awesome.
- This thread should be a poll for which starter people would pick. Mostly since I wonder who's the Snivy of this generation.

I guess I forgot to say not Kangaskhan, I actually want his baby to be a pokemon eventually its a diferent pokemon and its said to be the baby, other pokemon don't look diferent unless their baby form is a diferent pokemon, so I don't get why we still don't have baby Kangaskhan as a pokemon.
Cubone is the baby form of Kangaskhan. Due to the whole "take the mother's skull" thing the breeding is funky.

So apparently Chespin is an Hedgehog according to the japanese name, it really looked like a Beaver, man I can actually see the thing evolving to something pretty cool.

Chespin is a combination of chestnut and pin. It may also be from chinkapin, the name of some species of chestnut.
Harimaron is a combination of 蝟 harinezumi (hedgehog), 針 hari (needle), and marron (French for chestnut). -

. . . . yeah, not really feeling the water frog. (it's Japanese name is Keromatsu, which means croak . . . . something. Not sure what matsu stands for in this case.) -

I seriously hope they use animals and stop using objects as pokemon, most of them didn't come out that well, icecones weren'pt well received even though I like the first form same with gear first for is cool the rest not really, I actually don't mind Trubish though since its a duck on top of being a trashbag it seems, Litwick came out great though.

Satsuki accoring to a guy on Serebii its a Hedghog and he got the reference from the japanese name but i have no idea.
I got the Fennec Fox pretty fast since I had a friend that his name was Feneco which is Fennex Fox in portuguese haha.
The forg is just a frog a pretty boss one though, actually Gamefreak does a pretty good work with frog pokemon most of them are pretty awesome and now the frog evolutions will look bad so I shut up about them being cool.

I guess and I do like those but it didn't turn out that well this region, I like almost all the pokemon besides those but I migth just be talking for myself.

I never really saw those as objects as much as failed genetic experiments, given Generation I was so big on the whole genetics thing influencing pokemon.

etc.There's plenty of Pokemon that aren't animals that are done really well. In fact, I want to keep seeing them do Pokemon that aren't animals.

I gotta feeling these games are gonna have an underlying theme of pokemon breeding. Since the X, Y could mean chromosone!(sp) Y is female, and X is male. and they never really talk about it.. Or it could be like graphing axis's ;Y is the bird, X is the Deer thing, and future third member "Z" will be a burrowing creature. Just some thoughts…

The only other way i can see them going is doing the typical "special" version (you know, like yellow, crystal, emerald, platinum) and making Pokemon Z (as in x,y,z coordinate system since it's 3D :D). Although the whole male female story allows X to have the female and Y to have to male version as the legendary (or something like that)

Chespin is my least favorite, easily. they messed it up. the grass starter is ALWAYS a reptile, dammit. Or at least a dinosaur. something scaly, I mean.
fennekin on the other hand looks hella generic, like a route 3 pokemon.
Froakie is the only one that's decent, and even he's just kinda boring.
but if they evolve into crazy badasses I guess I don't care.

HM slaves weren't needed in BW and BW2 all the HM stuff was sidequesting or postgame.
That would be cool but its not slow rigth now, I'm looking for actually for a faster way to do normal trades, like trading 3 at a time or wtv.

So… What typing do you think the 2 revealed legendaries will be?
One type of the bird-like legendary is, obviously, either a flying-type or dragon-type. Though... Personally... I'm actually leaning towards flying, because it doesn't look like any type of dragon I've seen before (but neither did Giratina).
Also, I'm almost certain that one type for the buck deer-like legendary is psychic. It just has that "I'm a psychic user" about it, with it's crazy rainbow antlers and "X" eyes.

You know it, after the snake which obviously represented evolution (loosing legs over time). I think the Chespin is based off of the first mammal.
Fennekin is just fan-edit of Zoura.
Froakie would be cool if it weren't for the two dots on his face. Its distracting and just feels randomly and amateurishness.

^ Well you have to remember that they are rendering every single one of those pokemon and previous pokemon in 3d, plus attacks, and other animations. Im sure its over 750, so probably around a hundred new pokemon like generation 2.

Like Robby said yesterday expect atleast 100, I'm expecting a little more because they said back in BW that they have a lot of artists working there now(17 at the time), obviously making all those models is hard and the more pokemon more models they have to do.
In BW they just used the old DP models so they only had to make 155 new models, if the Gen 7 appears in the 3DS I believe we will get a pretty big region dex again since all the other pokemon will have the new type of models already.
They don't seem to be making a big deal out of the number of pokemon this time so I definetly don't expect 155 again, going for 120 as for what I hope.
