Just when we thought the arc was at a conclusion…Doflamingo comes flying. My guess is that everyone will be gone once he gets there, or maybe a similar scenario where they leave at the last moment with a Coup de Burst after a brief encounter with Doflamingo. Unless his gang is following him i don’t see another option, but then again one can not guarantee what will happen in this manga.

You know what might be interesting is if the reason Law wanted Caeser was so he use him to bargain with Doflamingo to get his crew back who maybe have been snatched by Doffy.

I believe the point of the heart switch would be that so she would die and not press the button that would destroy the entire island. I know One Piece characters are pretty durable, but she was stabbed RIGHT in the heart.

monet was stabbed with ice, she's not gonna die, and vergo will not die as well. the explosion never happened so doflamingo will shed carnage on the strawhats and he will retrieve vergo and monet as well.

Also, Doflamingo actually has interest in being the Pirate King? I don't think too many were expecting that one.

I almost feel like Dolfamingo's main focus for going to PH isn't to pound on the SHs and co. but to check on his crewmates to see if they are ok.

It's surprising because Dofla was always about "the age of dreams is over"; the antithesis to BB's "Mens' dream will never die!" and becoming Pirate King by finding One Piece is pretty much the most grandiose "dream" out there.

To be fair this is the first time we've ever seen a character explicitly get stabbed in the heart. She should definitely be dead.

Thoughts on the chapter: it was really good, and had a killer ending before the break,
Every single scene involving Doflamingo was great, especially his conversation with Vergo. However, the best panel is when Dofla looks utterly depressed as he prepares himself for everyone's death. It just goes to show that, unlike most villains we've seen in One-Piece, he actually cares for his crew.
I don't think there'll be a showdown with Doflamingo on this island. If there is, it'll involve everyone working together to bring him down with Luffy, Law, and Smoker leading the way.

For Dofla it is. Dofla has been introduced as a character who is against "Roger and Luffy's" ideals of what a pirate is. Hence the whole "Start of a new Era of pirates". I was under the impression that Dofla didn't believe in the One Piece and was involved in piracy solely for the money and the power.

Finally, we're going to get to see what Doflamingo can do. I'm really interested in what his fruit is. Common theory is something to do with string or wires but I don't know how that would help him fly unless he's doing something like Spiderman. But he's in the middle of the ocean so I can't see that happening.
