isn´t at least a clean scan of this page yet? even more painful than the wait for march 3, is having "Batchan"´s name there and being unable to read it ;___;

I like how Zoro is placed at the upper right of Luffy and Sanji at the upper left.
Wasn't that the case with the WB Division Commanders? We got their names from the anime first, then they were in the Green Databook too. It'd be nice if Bogart and Dalmatian were confirmed too, but I'd prefer those getting names who are entirely nameless.
this is wrong. we got the Whitebeard commanders' name from the sbs before than manga, green and all other

Thanks for clearing that up. My memory concerning that was a little too blurry.

Actually it was Whitebeard's allies that were named in the anime credits first, before their names were confirmed in Green.

I knew I mixed up something.
Cover from Shueisha web.
thanx redon for this scan
It's even more beautiful. Thanks (:
Even though I miss Rayleigh. And Oda should have put all of the Supernovas. Poor Capone.

And Urouge. Even Hawkins barely made it.
And Urouge. Even Hawkins barely made it.
Give Urouge a rest, he's always grinning, his facial muscles must hurt very badly.
I expect to see any missing characters on the backside. Like with green, where the cover story characters were spread upon the whole coverlet.
Anyway, can't wait to see what information this one will have!
I'm excited this week, the store I requested this item to, will have it in on Friday and hopefully shipped out the next day (Does the Japanese post office work on Saturdays). Hopefully I'll have it by the middle of the week, or at worst for me the end of the week.
Hopefully someone will put some scans up when they get their copy.
The giants aren't all Vice-Admirals. Only Ronse and Lacroix.
There's nothing that says for sure that the other members of the Giant Squad are or aren't Vice Admirals. We'll only know when the databook is released and that's if it releases their names.
Really pretty cover. Can't wait for the book itself!

I know, but they just doesn't seem like VAs to me. Or at least, not Backwards cap.
At this point, I'm not even sure if they have a rank. Ronse and Lacroix do, but what if it's just to make them the leaders or something?
If they do and I'm incorrect, how does this work? Do they start at the very bottom, or do the Marines have some special ranking system for giants?
i reckon it's the same for giants but giants just have a physical advantage. Remember they can only be vice-admiral or above if they have some form of haki so giant or not that's needed. Plus stuff like leadership skills are needed for anyone captain or above

What about the lowest ranks? Do they start there? Their sizes give them advantage over "small" marines. Not over captains and such, but lower ranked ones.
The giants form a squad maybe to keep them in one piece, thus, make them easier to order etc. There are some very high ranked giant (like Lacroix) who leads them.
Only dispointing thing about the cover is that the other supernovas are drawn in their pre-ts forms, while the strawhats are in the currents.

That's true but we have seen with saul that giants do command regular side people so it only stands to reason that maybe regular size people can command giants rather than them all have 1 big squad. In the case of the war i see all the giants being led by lacriox though but in a usual time they could be all seperated

Fair enough.
I guess unless Oda explains it, I'll stick to this theory.

i agree with you, id rather have them post TS on the book, but it
s prolly because each profile will surely have panels of the manga showing the character. and even if we know how they look already, they have yet to appear in the manga looking like this

So will I, I'll guess we'll have to wait for the book to expand upon their ranks. But I would also like to note that all named giants that are apart of the Marines have appeared so far have held the rank of Vice Admiral (Jaguar D. Saul, John Giant, Lacroix, and Ronse).

They could still put Oda's picture of them as one of the color pages they often put at the beginning of the these books. Like they did with the past captains and lieutenants in the 2nd Bleach databook.
How could Ronse become a VA is a mystery to me though.

why??? because he was taken out in one hit by the strongest man in the world when he's not even a minor character????

You really can't prove that, so don't go spouting off like it's some sort of fact.
Amazon.jp has a description section set up, and this is what I got from the loose translation from Google:
Hall of Fame 15th Anniversary series but the character of a large book "monster"! The first time in 10 years
Recording of the first phantom Comics "story 0 die"!
Reading the 302 page full of "deepening" of the character!
· DEEP Hall of Fame large character

Still no clear scan of the blurry one we got of one of the pages? D:

Holy crap do people actually scan databooks in their entirety, translate them and post them on the internet! If they do those people are saints!

I know, it's just an opinion. Lot of people tend to believe they are all VAs, I just said I don't think so. Maybe the wording was improper…
So, to fix it: In my opinion, the giants in the GS aren't VAs (not counting Lacroix and Ronse); maybe Captains, Commodores or Rear-Admirals, but not Vice-Admirals. There, this is what I meant.

Nope, John Giant was defeated by him too, but at least John had a good reason to attack WB where and when he did. He wanted to win some time. Meanwhile, Ronse was just plainly stupid when he could attack the guy from behind (which in itself seemed like he didn't thought that out properly), he shouted at him like "GOTCHA" and then made his effort even more useless.
He got the strength, there's no doubt about that, he can use that axe with ease and precision (probably), but he's not the brightest torch in the tunnel. Which makes me wonder how he got VA, when VAs have been shown as leaders rather than brute force.
@King:
Super Stealth Skills.
I could go with that. Sneaky sneaky Ronse~

Garp! pure strength can get you there faster then common sense or believing in the WG absolute justice though are probably highly appreciated

I'm pretty sure Garp has more than pure strength. He doesn't seem to be responsible all the time, but he is, even when he's careless. He also knows better than to act stupidly like that. He may brake walls because it's cooler that way, but when things got serious, he knows what he can and should do.
Ronse seemed like someone who with good guidance can be a fearful warrior, but his leading skills so far are missing.
Although now that I think about it, Garp is a rare case. He's not like any other VA, he's the exception. So to make my thought more precise: The Vice-Admirals, outside of Garp, all seemed to be leaders who, during the war, gave orders and kept things together rather than going out fighting alone. Well, Momonga and Dalmatian fought, as did Lacroix and John Giant… okay, this is not that easy. So my sentence is half-true.
I need to think about it.

Garp stated a long time ago that he didn't want to be an admiral, because then he couldn't do what he felt like doing. So I'd actually think that vice-admirals only truly need great strength, while the admirals need both strength, the capability of being an authority figure and certain duties.
However, most vice-admirals have become serious leader types because they've worked in the Marines for so many years and/or they are hoping to get qualified to the rank of admiral one day.
So yeah, Garp is a rare case, but I guess it's a bit of a coincidence that he is the only goofy vice admiral, as the rank technically allows for other types like him.

Wouldn't it be odd that the third highest rank can be reached with pure strength and fighting abilities? I understand that Admirals most certainly need to be true leaders, but they can't be everywhere and they need lower ranked marines to do the smaller jobs. Vice-Admirals seem to be perfect for that. Important tasks which don't need an Admiral to be dealt with.
s-manga.net has some preview pages up. Unfortunately it's only the table of contents and the cover pages for the different sections. There's also another section to the character's page called "Deep Characters". Also looks like it will cover from were Blue left off, judging from Enel's picture, also Arlong is featured in the table of contents. Can anyone tell who the guy on the bottom of the table of contents is, I think it's Wapol, but it's too small to make out.

Don't go spouting SOMETHING in every thread just to get noticed and appear relevant.
or Wanze I think…
anxiety...

Can you give us a link? I went to that page but i can´t find it :S
Probably is Wapol, and sorry for asking this again, but who is the girl next to Robin, it looks like Vivi, but since it's characters that start with or are a part of the ナ family of katakana, I don't think it is.
Right, sorry I keep forgetting about her family name.
