I'm one of the biggest HxH fans on here and even I think its crazy that people want the anime to go past the election arc knowing it will catch up really quickly and probably won't even be done for a few years.

End at 339 with the scenes and some added to the full version of the opening (something I called last year before everyone else BTW) and leave off with a small cliffhanger like showing beyond netero announcing the voyage for the dark continent or something and end there. Its a perfect way to close the series and leave just enough room open to be continued later (which is what Togashi did) we'll probably have some new anime material in 2 or 3 years from now after this.

And lastly @page 14-15 spread : HOLY SHIT!!! I had forgotten how good Togashi can actually draw when he puts his mind to it. I was like "Did he just use pointillism in this spread??!! :blink:"

I have to give props to Madhouse for even sticking true to the HxH material and even going so far as to enhance the experience tremendously from the manga format to anime.

The part when Welfin was confronted with the King and the fear he felt at that time had me feeling fear as well. Whenever an anime makes you feel the same emotion as a character in a specific situation is what you call an amazing anime production.

I was rereading Alluka's chapter, and Killua's initial wish is "Return Gon back to normal". Then he sees Gon's arm and says "Please, It… Heal Gon!"

I guess the latter wish does not imply nen abilities, while the first ones does.

What do you think? (also, are the translations I read accurate?)

failpanda translation for hxh is bearable, much better than what they do with OP. I dunno how they manage to get such difference in their quality. Either way still better than MS. Got nothing on Viz though.

Just continue with these exposition heavy chapters and don't wear yourself out doing those spreads Togashi.

Decent episode. Madhouse's filler is good filler, but it's still filler…

Even during the Chimera Ants arc I can't recall a spread as detailed as that one. Is Togashi going back to the roots? No, the amount of detail he's puting is far above anything I've seen so far in this series.

panda/reader uses decent English but is infamous for its mistranslations and inaccuracies, often forgetting the names of any side characters and giving them different names the next week.

Mangastream is slightly more accurate but they overuse slang and swear words just to add flavour. Their choice of words can be cringeworthy and sometimes incomprehensible.

Other scanlators probably suffer from one of those problems.

Viz (Volumes/WSJ alpha/WSJ android) has official translators and is generally considered to have excellent translations by many (myself included). and I don't mean compared to scanlators. There's little point comparing them since they far outrank scanlators. If you have access to Viz's stuff their HxH trans is good.

Damn, wtf Togashi! There's so much shit happening and being explained in ONE chapter! Think about a whole arc…..being done!

It seems Linnet audobl is probably Rinne Hor'Dourve as someone pointed out earlier. The one from the election arc known as the worlds oldest hunter

Honestly is there a level of strength that can get you through what ging described, just diverting from your journey means death that is if you and an entire army havent been wiped out already. I think gon's condition is a good thing maybe he can come up with a better power

How does it take more than 300 years to explore the DC? If Don Freecs already finished the East side of it, who has the copies and why doesn't the HxH use it? All the mysteries concerning the Dark Continent should be explained partial though so why does the DC still feel mysterious? There's so many questions after this chapter

Everything in this chapter seems more like Ging is in the Dark Continent at the time, but all the recent chapters seem to indicate he hasn't been. Or maybe it's just clever phrasing.

Now with Don Freecs, there's some interesting theories that can be made.

I've never been a fan of repeated cycles, so I don't know how I feel about the Don Freecs revelation and the possibility that Ging has been looking for him all this time.Although it explains what he did to Gon because maybe that's what his Dad did for him.

I wonder why Ging insists on being Number 2. There has to be a very important reason for it.

After 400 chapters we will learn that Dun freecs (Gin great great grandfather that has an spa franchise in the Dark continent) is also looking for his father and that the central theme of the manga is that everyone is a shitty parent (Togashi has some heavy daddy issues).

If the money guy hadn't returned he would be my favorite character now "Bitch, i just got paid i'm never returning to this manga. Haven't you read it? People die all the time".

Sandman posted a good connection for Linnet a few pages back.
During the hunter election arc there was this gourmet hunter Rinne D'hoevre or something, when written in Japanese these both names would be transcribed the same way probably.

So Gon and Killua are going to the dark continent with the Zodiacs and Gon'll regain his Nen thanks to a herb or something like that?

Also, Netero and Zoldyck family ties seem to run deep and then there's Don Freecs who's the actual author of a book about the dark continent. If he's still alive due to the longivity there, he must be a monster that'll make Meruem look like a girl scout in comparison.

Togashi was (possibly) foreshadowing why Gon can't joint DC and basically telling us that his SSJ4/Alluka magic has lasting consequences? He addressed two important issues that we all had been wondering about in a couple of panels? This is shoehorning?
