I think Bartolomeo is going to beat Bellamy, and then still have some role to play in the Dressrosa arc. It's going to be like Rebecca losing to Cavendish.
One Piece Chapter 706: I won't laugh at you

16 characters of Tashigi.
Not the same. She has someone to teach her, which is a huge thing for learning Haki apparently
-
@The:
The only way Bellamy has seemingly changed in the last 2 years is that he has a dream now. A dream to become part of the Doflamingo Pirates; the Doflamingo Family. A dream which he's going to not achieve.
Other than that, I bet he's still the same cocky-ass scrub that he was at Jaya; with better combat skills.
actually he already had said dream.
the change in his character was much more subtle…getting to see the existance of skypiea with his own very eyes probably widen his view of the world,he now know that there are things out there that surpass even his wildest imagination.that is why now he will not mock luffy, and he probably doesn't have anything against luffy because he was in fact wrong, and also because his objective is now almost reached.it's the same bellamy, but more mature, that's what i like about thies "evolution" of the character,it's a "believabe evolution"
16 characters of Tashigi.
tashigi had the entire marine organisation to teach her (also smoker),zoro had mihawk, sanji had ivankov, luffy of course,rayleight..skypiean used mantra but didn't even know what that thing was
-

I was assuming that "he learned it in Skypiea" meant that "someone in Skypiea taught him".

I don't even know how did they learnt but I assume that the priests learned via Enel, how who knows, he doesn't seem te type of guy to teach somebody and on top of that Isa, how was she even born with CcO?
-

I don't think she was born with it…. If I remember correctly, the Dr Fish Bone guy said that a traumatic experience can activate your CcO Haki like it did with Coby in the war...
-
What i think about Bartoa and Ballemay..
Bellamy will lose.. Barto will win – Why? because there has been too much hype by Oda on Barto and I interestingly fee that Bellamy loosing will actually let him be 'rejected' by the DD family. Then Luffy may offer this "changed" Bellamy a shot a New Nakama.
-
Never said he was beaten, just pointing out a pattern around block b.

She was born with it. They showed her as a baby crying anytime Wiper was overly aggressive or putting out bad vibes.

I totally forgot about that… guess her birth was a traumatic experience... :ninja:

Traumatic experience isn't the only way to awaken Haki. One can argue that Luffy first showed signs of CoC when the crew met Duval and his ride (that bull or whatever it was) had fainted when Luffy stared at it. (yeah I know some will joke that it was traumatic to some like Sanji, but that's not what the Doc meant). Some were just born with it. Aisa is the only one, right? Wasn't Otohime was born with it too. I think it was mentioned in the same issue she first appeared in. Neptune mentions that 'it couldn't be helped' (or something similar to that) for the queen to rush off to confront the robber due to her being born with CoO

Is next week or the week after a break?
I'd like to see Law and co get to Green Bit as well as Luffy or somebody in the coliseum fight. Anyone else think Luffy uses CoC to knock out the fodder and then it's like a 5 man free for all?
@The:
The question is:
Is there anyone who believes that he will not use it?
! @Katzztar:
! > Its possible but (IMO) I would not think so because of Cavendish's words. He mentioned that the audience likes a bloody fight. I think that's why the rule against firearms is there .. they want to see the fighters pummel each other into a bloody pulp. [HIDE][qimg]http://img.batoto.net/comics/2013/04/03/o/read515c49491f819/img000011.png[/qimg] [/HIDE] Sure Cavendish makes the comment of "who wants to see a match prolonged by swords and armor?" but CoC would be too quick and not be bloody at all. And sure this is Luffy (who doesn't care about rules), but he also enjoys a good fistfight, and doesn't take the easy route. Lets remember he yelled at Usopp when he asked Rayleigh about One Piece because it wouldn't be adventurous, not be fun if they didn't have that uncertainty (did it exist, is it really at Raftel ect). Whent ehy first left FI, he wanted to go to the most dangerous island because it would be an adventure. Now I admit I can be wrong, but I think Luffy would want to win by his fighting powers and not using CoC.I don't. Something like what Katzztar also mentioned above^^^ with Cavendish making it a point to talk of how people like the matches, but mainly like the "putting on a show" factor, + Franky's encouragement, seems like foreshadowing that Luffy might want to 'put on a show'.
I just love this series way too much. Were 706 chapters into the Series and finally get a tournament arc and were not even worried at all about our main character! Were more worried about him going to his full extent! xD
The best part of it all, is how much more intrigued the viewers are by every single other character. This is an arc where Oda's creativity can definitly shine.
Of course and who couldn't love the fact that "Lucy" is once again being far underestimated. Those are my favorite moments in manga.Don't think I've ever seen Lucy not be underestimated.
I'm a little disappointed.
Any1 find it odd that Bellamy was so willing to not tell about Luffy's presence. Assuming from his talk of loyalty, his loyalty to DD is basically beyond question, (unless that's a red herring, intentional misdirect); so why wouldn't DD tell him at least part of the plan about locating Luffy, the guy only he has personally seen and obviously remembers?
Unless getting Luffy to the Coliseum was the extent of the plan. I mean yes Bellamy's not technically in DD's inner crew, but with the point above^^^, it would make sense either way to include him in on the plan; unless just getting him there was the plan. The more time goes on the more Bellamy seems related to DD. His seemingly unrelenting blind loyalty, if not some weird developed loyalty for some reason, makes more sense if because of him having familial ties to DD. It would also be nice to see more of a 'same generational blood ties' within the OPU, (more actually seemingly blood related than Luffy and Ace), as I think only the "Meowman brothers" could really be seen as the only real example of this so far in the OPU.
Find it kind of surprising actually that more pirates aren't related to each other by blood, as Luffy - Dragon - Garp seem to be the main/ only 1 mentioned? -

Otohime? I don't remember her having CcO, can you provide a page where this was stated

the priests weren't skypiean, they were bilkian like enel..and anyway they are not anymore in skypiea.

she said she could "hear" the screams of fisher tiger's heart..i don't remember if it's actually stated it was kenbunshoku haki, but it's pretty much sure it was

Find it kind of surprising actually that more pirates aren't related to each other by blood, as Luffy - Dragon - Garp seem to be the main/ only 1 mentioned? Funny thing is that it was mentioned some time ago (maybe a year?) in the dumb predictions thread that Bellamy was the son of DD. As for other families…
Did you forget about Usopp and his dad, Yasopp? Not surprised if people did forget it as its not mentioned in the story as much as Luffy's relations. In fact last time Usopp's relations were mentioned ...wow... in the same arc he was introduced!
After the battle with the Black Cat Pirates (Kuro & Jango), I don't think the manga mentions Usopp's relation to Yasopp. Anime did at Lougetown when it had the filler with Daddy Masterson. Ironcally that was suppose to be min the manga but was cut, due to timing. Oda wanted the crew to enter the Grandline on a certain chapter, to make it happen the scene between Usopp vs Masterson (who recognizes Usopp's name due to facing his dad in the past) was cut.
.
I once read a translation online of one of the guidebooks (think it was All Blue) that said there was another cut scene that included Usopp and mentions of his family. This time it was at end of the Water 7/Enies Lobby arc, right before the SHs left. Usopp encounters Garp on his own, and asks him how Yasopp is doing. Garp recognizes Usopp as the son of "Chaser Yasopp" and says his dad is alive. Garp leaves Usopp alone with saying "Take care of my Grandson."
.
That's something I want to see more of, enemies of the family coming after the crew. Yasopp had a big rep before, bound to have enemies, surely some will recognize Usopp.
If that was a true translation, then this makes a 2ns scene cut out that mentions Usopp's relation to Yasopp.
I totally for got that when I made my entry on "Marines know Usopp's Identity".

YEah the dodging a bullet is in ch. 621= [HIDE] [/HIDE] Its the same chapter, further in Neptune mentions her "powerful Observation haki" (pg 12 at a batoto, at bottom of page)= [HIDE] [/HIDE]

Oh good, I'm glad we aren't talking about Ricky anymore. That was getting annoying.

Yet you risk bringing it back up …by bringing it up :ninja: Be glad that I remembered this wasn't the dumb predictions thread and didn't mention my joke of "It's Usopp's long lost twin, who has his nose squished in there…"
-
I know that this completely ruins the purpose and the standard shounen tournament principles, but I am tired of the "underestimating the protagonist and getting fucking whooped." I mightve actually preferred Luffy beating the shat out of everyone.

You people really don't get it, do you?
Don't talk about spoilers/the next chapter in this topic. That's not what it's for, and your posts will be deleted. Check the spoiler thread if you care that much.

Like I always say if you read spoilers you're weak. Waiting one week then ruin it 5 hours(more or less) before release.
Edit: I can't believe over 100 ppl are reading spoilers.

Good chapter. Love Barto Lomeo .. I hope he got Devil Fruit Powers, like a Vampire Zoan :D. I like Zoan Powers^^. I also hope that Big Mom is a Zoan User. I just like the image of a big ass monster which can actually fight and is pretty powerful + Busou- and Kenbunshoku no Haki. If not Big Mom then atleast Kaido, please Oda.
I guess a giant with a Logia Power would be pretty much invincible.I just like the image of a big ass monster which can actually fight and is pretty powerful + Busou- and Kenbunshoku no Haki…
and if she also had crazy fast speed with all that tonnage she's lugging around; then she would seem very worthy of the Yonkou. "Her charging" would be even deadlier than Jozu's, especially if you can add the 'eating you' factor.
Really like that image too, a zoan that enhances her speed + suits her weight, huh...
Rhino/ Elephant/ mystic dinosaur (brontosaurus(?)), hmmn...Glad to see someone agrees with me on that :)

Find it kind of surprising actually that more pirates aren't related to each other by blood, as Luffy - Dragon - Garp seem to be the main/ only 1 mentioned? No didn't forget Usopp+ Yasopp. By 'same generational blood ties' within the OPU, meant more like a generation seemingly born within the same 20-30 years, so that would lean more towards siblings/ cousins/ twins( because count them slightly closer than regular siblings)/ and maybe aunts/ uncles and nieces/ nephews "pirates" within the OPU. As DD doesn't necessarily strike me as his dad; but a much older brother/ or uncle/ or cousin. Like I mentioned Luffy, and Ace, + those seemingly twins from WB's allies that also seemingly had a cat theme, (always mix up their names as their similar cat themes blur into 1 sometimes( but the ones introduce at the War, not with Kuro as mentioned below), Think their name was something like the "Declan/ Decalvin(?) brothers) , seem like the only examples, ( unless you also count those 'cat themed people' == the "Meowman brothers" (?) from Kuro's crew, but they didn't neccessarily look that much alike like the other's did, (even Luffy + Ace looked more alike for people with differing parents)), And Luffy and Ace were more 'adopted brothers'. That leaves the more than likely NW pirate fellow co -captains(?) twins as from that 'same generational' blood ties. Just might think we would/ could/ should see more of these 'same generational' blood ties, even if the story was/ is told mostly from the SH's POV.
Just would kinda hope they would show up more, especially seeing how many pirates there seems to be…Funny thing is that it was mentioned some time ago (maybe a year?) in the dumb predictions thread that Bellamy was the son of DD. As for other families…

Though didn't necessarily mean rivalries against the families, wouldn't mind seeing more of those as well. Yeah, putting the spotlight on Yasopp's enemies attacking Usopp, could be very interesting.

That could be true if reading spoilers ruined the chapter, which doesn't in the least for me. So to each his own…
