! Just hoping the resolution is satisfying. Fine with them losing though. Given Megumi was unfairly punished anyways and since their opponent is a seasoned alum I don't think Megumi will look incompetent or bad at the end of this battle. -

That's a bit depressing that mr. arrogant didn't get his lesson, but I can see how displaying a gap might be more interesting for the story.
Soma has just been wrecking everyone with his cooking so for him to hit some limits(although one might argue it doesn't quite count with him just being the sous chef) could make it easier for us to relate to his driving motivation. Him wanting to beat his father isn't quiet as transparent as him wanting to beat this person who's skills we can measure better after seeing them. -

! I think even though they lost the other chefs will object to the expulsion since they don't seem to be as bad as mr arrogant. A shokugeki between any them might even happen.

I predict that Shinomiya will taste Megumi's dish and just change his mind about expelling her.
Souma's case is a bit different since he's the one who decided to challenge him. So, I doubt he will change his mind that easily. Doujima will probably need to intervene. -

and made a strict rule to follow his procedures. The quality of the restaurant improved, earning him the award.

The problem is.... he came to a dead end. After winning the award, he lost sight of what to do next, and his specialty never improved beyond that point.

Yay!! I posted a while ago how this shokugeki will turn out, and even though I was wrong on the details, I was almost right! Yay me!!
Anyway, this series is getting better and better by the chapter isn't it? I wouldn't be surprised if one day Souma stands up there together with Luffy.

! So when Shinomiya looked all pissed at the guy with the "wrong" hairspray, questioning if the wants to destroy his store…. he wasn't kidding.
He LITERALLY had to go through such ordeals, hardening him against any element that endangers his store.
And the reason why he was adamant to stick to his recipe is the same reason... because changing the recipe nearly destroyed his dreams.
! In one chapter they made each and every one of the man's action make perfect sense. Now THAT'S forshadowing, manga writers, take note! -

The closest thing I can think of is "plupart" which means "majority". The way it is spelled reminds me way more of the german word "Pluspol" which is a positive pole. Or it's two words where the first one is "plus", no idea though what the "pooru" could be(well I know some words but none do make any real sense).
Probably overthinking it and it's just made up. -

! Definitely one of the better ways to handle this loss. Rataouille yes, but I was also reminded about the one-shot and how stagnation really doesn't lead to progress (though in the one shot's case its because she makes things perfectly while here…well it's explained in the chapter)
! Also know this is a minor detail, but I liked the line about prize money from contests during the school year. Just something to look forward to in future chapters now that they set it up as a thing now. -

It will be interesting if he decides to take her under his wing. I want to see them interact more after the contest is over.About the medal, I'm french and I can't think of any word or name that would fit with "purusupooru".
I guess it's just some weird made-up combination of word.

! Oooh one of thoise types, a guy taking his past frustions out on the present. I.E A good intetnion gone off the road. Eh I had a feeling he had a good reason, course he IS a teacher, and acting like a stubborn mule doens't excuse him for not making concessions to Megumi who, y'know, was trying to follow the recipe. Then again where's the conflict and fun in that. Don't mind the Rattatoue angle, loved that movie and glad the author here does too.

Chapter 27 spoilers
! As Shinomiya drops the coin in Megumi's plate, he wipes his tears and asks her if she used allspice in her dish.
She did, but not simply to cover the flavoring of the chicken… but also because the spice improves digestion. Since the judges have been eating a lot of food for the tests the last two days, she thought to help them by using the spice.
Hinata bursts out in tears as well as Donato, lol.
! Doujima tells Shinomiya how as imperfect as it may be, dietry of Megumi's food was thoughtful for the consumer, perhaps this is what is needed to advance Shinomiya's path? As Shinomiya thinks about how he neglected the voices of his staff and his customers, and have been making food all by himself, Hinata puts a coin in Megumi's plate. (She didn't have the judging coin so she put a regular 500yen coin ROFL)
As Hinata and Doujima says how the match is brought to a stalemate, Shinomiya walks away laughing at the what a joke this turned out to be... but calls Megumi a slow poke, and (in a very expected tsundere fashion lol) to survive the best you can, anyway a slowpoke like her can.
! Doujima comments to Megumi how her greatest strength in cooking is the "hospitality" of her food, and she should focus on improving that skill. And the three coins on the plate is his sign of future investment into them. Megumi falls to the ground, crying in relief, as Soma smiles at her and congratulates her.
! Sekimori and Doujima exchange words about Shinomiya's stagnation, and how he reached his goal too fast due to his skills, before he matured as a owner chef, which led to his stagnation. For a chef to improve, he must not isolate off everything... quite the opposite, they must seek to absorb everything instead.
Sekimori compliments the senior chef on saving not only one, but two chefs in one stone.
! Soma and Megumi returns to outside.
Megumi gets a call from Yuuki, worried about them.. so she rushes back to their room.
But before she leaves, she thanks Soma for everything, and she will never forget his kindness. Once she's gone and Soma is alone, he punches a wall nearby with all his might. Although he wasn't the main chef, this was his first defeat, and his pride won't forgive himself. Doujima observes Soma and his lonely frustration, and thinks back on how he reminds him of Shinomiya's younger days.
! Soma returns to the room, only to be greeted by crying Yuuki's bitch-slap. LOL
She then realizes he's not at fault, and goes crying to Ryoko.
Shun notices Soma's right hand is puffed up red, and asks him if he's ok.
(the sustained injury is possibly a roadblock for Soma's next challenge?)
! Soma declares they're gonna spend the night playing hanafuda, much to Marui's despair (it's his room of course, lol) Then more of the dorm-mates arrive to crash the party.

! Predictable, but in a good way. Pretty much everything went exactly as I imagined it.
I knew Shinomiya was going to let them off the hook. The Allspice was a nice touch.
