@mstarsup5:
Want my wednesday's share of spoilers :'(
Oh, and I just thought: in group D, I want Lucy to have an instant win, by hakying everyone down :p
Think you mean group C^^^
! @SanjiFan:
! > Where does this Doflamingo hype come from? Is it because he is one of the oldest unused enemies or what? The guy seems to be almost as hyped as Mihawk.
I keep seeing opinions which state that the only way to beat him would be if Luffy and Law were to have a 2v1 against him.
Same thing with a possible match between Luffy and Burgess, where it seems that most people (correct if I'm wrong), believe that Luffy would be stomped.
Personally I believe that Luffy beating Doffy/Burgess in a clean 1v1 would be a great way to send a signal to the big boys like BB/Kaido, stating that he's back in the game and ready to take down the emperor's.
! Agreed. Great as well as probably most perfectly balanced as well; not necessarily too much or too little.
@CCC:
IIRC Luffy has no reason to be aware of Burgess' affiliation with BB.
-Burgess wasn't with BB during the pie eating scene or the "Dreams of men will never die!" bit in the street
-BB's raft was so far away in the knockup stream scene that Usopp needed binoculars to make out the wanted posters. Luffy wasn't even looking at the raft, and nobody said "hey that champion guy is also there."
-BB's crew wasn't with him when he met Luffy in ID (oh, he was there?)
-Luffy was already catatonic from Ace's death when BB and crew appeared at Marineford
DERP EDIT: Except for the announcer just announcing that Jesus is on BB's crew. I guess that would do it.
While you might have been partially wrong, Luffy is notorious for forgetting people/ not listening to people/ not paying attention to people + him calling him that 'Champion guy' might mean that's the only instance he really remembers him from. Especially in ID Luffy's anger just seemed to be building + building, doubt he really saw any1/ thing but rage and primarily BB.
@The:
It's called the Super Rookie Saga (or whatever) because, before Luffy faces down Kaido ALL the Supernovas will be in an alliance with each other to bring him down. Kaido will be the main antagonist of this saga. :ninja:
Luffy, Kidd, Law, Apoo, Hawkins, Zoro, Killer, Urouge, Capone, X. Drake and Bonney + their crews VS Kaido THE STRONGEST CREATURE IN THE WORLD, his crew, and his Zoan army.
What in the manga says that besides you?
@The:
What does everyone think is going to happen in tomorrow's chapter? More focus on Luffy and Franky, or will it move onto other people and other groups?
Hoping/ Thinking maybe Burgess says/ exposes a little more NW info, then a bit more with the tournament either B or D block, sidetrack to a little bit with Zoro. Possibly move to either Law's or the protect the Ship group with a wrinkle in the plan/ comedy, And 1 more surprise.
@The:
I'm thinking higher for Bartolomeo, higher than Cavendish (or whatever) even.
Cavendish = 280,000,000 million
Bartolomeo = 320,000,000 to 325,000,000 million.
I'm thinking Bartolomeo will be the Luffy of the pirates that came after (I guess) the Eleven Supernovas.
Loving this idea. In fact could see it if Cavendish hated Bartolomeo almost as much as the supernovas because of it. But believe Oda delayed showing him for a reason. Think he's an important surprise reveal for just before a break.
@nonectra:
I haven't. Zoro is chasing a fairy, supposedly, and they already exist as one of the mythic underpinnings of Dressrosa. I'm really curious as to what Oda has in mind for this potential race of characters. And Sanji… I'm still interested in what's going on with him because this feels like it's a chance for some honest-to-god character development for him. Granted, Oda could go the opposite direction and keep him as THE LOVE COOK 99% of the time, but I'm still interested and hoping he doesn't do that.
Really curious what people would see as "some honest-to-god character development" for Sanji?
Don't get how being able to hit females necessarily equals== that^^^^?
@1PceXperience:
This statement is rubbing me the wrong way. I believe that Burgess is more capable than Luffy is. Give the guy some credit. He's a fleet commander of a Yonkou.
él es fuerte~
A Yonkou who relatively recently (within the last 2 years) became 1, under more than the circumstances/ variables of just strength, or numbers on his side; and his "fleet commander" seemed like he wasn't 'that' effectively strong/ powerful enough/ lacking, pretty much every time he's shown.
Then add the fact of we see it your way with 'a definitive loss for Luffy' means more than likely later on Luffy must defeat him(Burgess), and BB before really having the matter settled; as Oda seemingly has the habit of having Luffy eventually 'rectify/ equal/ redeem' his losses/ possible hanging grudges. But to need to go after both instead of just BB, would seem somewhat odd/ really unnecessary.
P. S. - Those thinking of Luffy using CoC, to knock most fodder out realize this might be the glaring sign DD's people would need to know who Lucy really was; as they should know of his CoC + how Rare it is would indicate the user being the 1 they set the trap for?..
Thus maybe something Luffy could possibly actually realize wouldn't be a good idea.
- something about the way Cavendish, or Rebecca (I believe, forget who exactly), made a concentrated effort to talk about the performance/ production/ showmanship of the Colosseum, and the slight reaction from Luffy, makes me think it's the perfect foreshadowing that he'll want to 'put on a show' somewhat in terms of the fight.
Although Still think it would be interesting, and still show a good deal, of fights, and abilities; these preliminaries might explore a bit more with CoO and how it works; especially with multiple targets at once. Could be interesting to see all these little lesser fights, while Lucy just strolled thru, (like with Luffy avoiding Hodi's water bullets), using CoO to avoid the fights he had no interest in till he walked to people who seemed like interesting challenges, + personally, and weirdly politely told his name and requested they fight. If that's how the prelims go, obviously I'd rather he not just go CoC and make people pass out, since he really doesn't need to fight them either way. They'll probably be taking each other out in moments anyway.
