Ok how's Momosuke DF an artificial one? All we got is that CC told his men that the DF was a failure and nothing more, Vegapunk was never said or stated to be creating a fake DF. What if the DF was Vegapunk trying to figure out how to split a single DF into two? Like he got a real dragon DF and tries to duplicate it? Turning one fruit to two same fruit?

i don't get why the sunny should sink if it eats the fruit, it's still a ship, it has buoyancy to stop it from sinking either way, so unless more troll physics come into play…

I woulnd't like if luffy eat that fruit i rather have him punch the assholes that he meet's along the way with that fruit he will gets a "beam kinda atack" and stuff like this as lower chance of happen:
Not to mention that for guy that only can punch and kick he always "think's" on new way's to beat the vilains when other's protagonist that are able to do those "beam kinda atack, always beat their vilains with these atacks with almost no variation over and over and over and over and over … did i mention over?
And if luffy vs blackbeard does happen i see it as a battle between someone who reach were he his by using his own power (since his fruit will be nullified on the majority of the battle) against someone that reach were he his by stealing other people power( a.k.a Whitebeard and Thatch devil fruits). -

I think Luffy ends up eating it. Regardless of what's been said in the past, Oda never intended for OP to last anywhere near as long as it has. Luffy getting a new power set to draw from gives Oda a massive amount of creative freedom to write new attacks/powerups for Luffy that'll carry till the end of the series. Beyond that, it's a perfect excuse for the plot to explain part of the "Will of D", because the characters inside the story will start wondering what the common denominator is between Luffy and Blackbeard.

It doesn't matter if Oda originally thought that his series would end much sooner. He didn't add new stuff compared to what he originally planned out and even if he had: you can't plan out fighting styles. He has to make them up on the fly. And of course no matter which strawhat we talk about, he would never change the style completely but only add to it with new moves.

In real life people have a 1/3 chance of surviving getting stabbed in the heart. And Oda doesn't kill characters unless it's absolutely necessary.

I looked at their biggest attacks
Luffy (Elephant Gatling), Zoro (Wind Slashes), Ussop (Impact Plant), Franky (Laser), Sanji (Hell memories =Fire).
The reason I see brook as the death element is because he is capable of taking unlimited of the otherworld energy, which feels cold in the real world.Overall I don't think nor I want Sanji to eat this DF cuz one of the main reasons I love Sanji and Zoro are, that they are absolute monsters without it but sadly in one point you are right. With Luffy he is the most likely candidate if you believe someone of the SHs will eat it
Well personally I don’t care if a strawhat gets it or not as long as Luffy doesn’t eat it, I was just trying to have a look at all possibilities.
Add Coby to not getting it.
BTW forgot to add how stupid it would be and make the whole Hells Memories/Diable Jambe stuff he got/learned unnecessary.
If Sanji gets the DF, he will already be familiar with fire, thus easier time of learning to control it. (= not a waste of time)

In my opinion there is no 'possible option' when it comes to the crew and eating a devil's fruit. And if it were possible - next to Luffy, Sanji is the least likely to eat one especially the Mera Mera.
1. He's already stated back during Thriller Bark that the Suke Suke fruit was the only one he was ever interested in/willing to eat.
2. Eating it would completely defeat the purpose of him having "Diable Jambe" and "Hell Memories"..It is completely true he doesn’t want to, but like I said earlier I don’t care if he gets it or not. Just looked at which strawhat is the most likely and found him, because he seems like the most viable Strawhat.
Personally I disagree on point 2, since it would still allow him to quicker master the fruit than any other person.
That baby is obviously the best candidate for the Mera Mera fruit. I have no idea what all these other lunatics keep babbling about. That kid has moxie!
Well then Oda might as well have waited with showing the fruit, if no one in the current timeline is going to eat it.

Please no, it would take too much away from Luffy’s character, that despite having eaten one of the most useless fruits, he can still take it so far. Since people like Garp, Roger, Rayleigh and Shanks can be top tier without a fruit, then luffy doesn’t need “an extra upgrade” since it would just insinuate that he would otherwise be too weak to fight blackbeard (which I would hate)

I know what you mean, but I still beleive he is the best Strawhat (as in if a strawhat has to eat it), I would like it more if Momonosuke (though only if he becomes the cabin boy) or Sabo got the fruit

IMO he needs another step forward to keep the Monster Trio intact, and the Mera Mera no Mi is a great opportunity.

It is the complete opposite to pre skip. Pre Skip Sanji was the only one trained by a world known pirate in a specific style… While Luffy and yes Zoro as well with his 3 swords style had to train themselves all alone

Iva isn't at the level Mihawk is at but it's still a damn good master to have.
How else could Sanji have learned about and to use Haki?

Well to be honest.. it wouldn't be strange Kanjurou be the next one to join if.. the story will go like I think it will go.
My idea is.. Kanjurou is a prisoner in Dressrosa. It seems Dressrosa has a Colosseum. In ancient times, those buildings where used for entertainment… and if I analyze this chapter they seem also have something with gambling. Prisoners where used to fight in the Colosseum.
Gambeling was also something they did in Colosseums.. that at hand.. I think they will find Kanjurou at the Colisseum.. where also Diamante is with the Mera Mera no Mi. Somehow Kanjurou will win from Diamante or will get the Mera Mera no Mi in his possesion.. and will eat it :D. Just a raw version of my scrambles ;p.And as stated Luffy like the heroic features of him when Kinemon told te story. If Kanjurou is like Kinemon, a Nitoryu user, then I am sure he will be the next one to join. As Kinemon and Momo will have high regards of them as their saviors they will tell the story to Kanjurou...

I like the idea of Luffy keeping it as a keepsake on the ship and putting it at Ace's grave one day. Although, the idea of having Vegapunk somehow permanently destroy it was very interesting and something I could get behind.

In my opinion the possible idea and i vote for that :ninja:, is the mera mera no mi used by weapon. I disagree about the idea that only zoans can used by weapons because they have "minds" , the only that it's known is about the extremely strength that the user gets and if zoan users has an extra "mind" from fruit then we would seen lucci to scrape his head with his leg for example…. i can't see the idea to keep the fruit in the sunny cause always something happens and they robbed... as for the idea that Luffy give this fruit to the "next generation" it would be so obvious and of course i can't understand why they will learn about it from now.... to conclude i don't like the idea to be some1 else than Ace to have this power...

I don't want Coby to eat the Mera Mera no Mi, the little bastard doesn't deserve something that used to belong to Ace. I have no idea why it's been reintroduced to the story though, it has the potential to be game changer for this arc, by having Luffy go berserk that someone has his late brothers fruit. It doesn't matter if he cares for the fruit or not, but it's still going to end up in his hands at the end. I want Luffy to keep it aboard the ship, then maybe handing it off to some kid who Luffy deems worthy of it, like a kid who reminds him of Ace or Sabo.
Maybe Luffy won't care one bit for it and laughs at Doflamingo for his efforts, who knows?
