@OPF:
I love this opening, the song was great! Can anyone edit the subs into the video and upload it?
I put the subs in last night, sorry it can't be in HD but again, enjoy!

At first I was like
! Where's Momonosuke?
But then I was like
! Oh there's Momonosuke!
Even after working with the Opening for an hour, I didn't notice
! He was there.
I am a bit disappointed Brownbeard isn't in the opening, and a little disappointed that the Yeti Cool Brothers aren't there either, even though I could not care less about them.
Oh my god.
Those clothes in second part.
WHY? Why are they wearing FISHMAN ISLAND ARC clothes?
I finally thought - "yay, no more hody in my opening, I can forget about that arc once and for all" and then what? Those damn clothes!
I think they made that scene long ago, but for some reason they've stopped working on a new opening (probably because of the movie) a now instead of making a new one, they left the old one.
It was okay, I wasn't entirely sold on it :| At least it's new though, it'll probably grow on me lol
I liked the new opening it was really chilled back and put me in a good mood ready to watch which is what all openings should do, It's a bit of a change from the pumped up are you ready for this sort of feel that most animes do but it was nice and pretty catchy.
I absolutely love the song, the animation is beautiful too. The only complaint I have is that there isn't as much canon material as I would have liked. Not to say that I don't like seeing the cover art, I'm just sayin'
I put the subs in last night, sorry it can't be in HD but again, enjoy!
Thanks!

I completely missed Kinemon on the first couple of watches he blended into the background.

I always just assumed that those outfits were pretty much their "default" outfits for the second half of the series, similar to how the crew (other than Nami and Robin,) always had the same standard outfits that they returned to in the first half when they weren't wearing anything fancier or arc/movie-specific.
Pretty shitty in just about every respect IMO. They could've just stuck with We Go for another 100 episodes as far as I'm concerned. Then again, that's unfair since I don't watch the anime anymore.
Mmm good song, after the bombastic "We Go!" (which I do love btw) it's nice to get a more relaxed tune. Opening wise though it's prety standard. I don't hate it just feels average. Like the animators are starting to run out of ideas to fill the two minute openings and padded things out to fill out the song. Seems like were just going through the motions: Title screen, Straw Hats doing something, things relevant to the recent plot, more Straw Hats or something random and end. Meh, and apparently the Sunny Go sailing on the side of the screen is a thing now. Hmm. I don't know, maybe these two minute openings have ran their course guys. I did like the colorspreads at the end though, they even did one of my favorites (the river stream sharks, yay =D). Still for what it is, "Hands Up" is a pretty good opening.
You know what this opening lacks? Urouge. We gotta transform this opening just like how "Share the Urouge" turned out to be :ninja:

I second this .

lol
I was just about to post that I wouldn't have minded Law's boring scene if it had been Luffy staring at Urouge instead.
There wasn't enough Law for my liking.
Kinda sad they didn't even have
! Kidd, Apoo, Hawkins and Killer
@400MillionBelis:
And here it is! The end borked up though for some reason, and I don't know why the highest quality is 480p when I exported it to have 1080p as the highest. But ah.
It's hilarious that even their theme songs need to be edited! We should call 4kids!
But this is much better than the current.
- Nami wears glasses? Cant remember if that's been established.
As others have said. Yeah she wears glasses on occasion. However I feel all of them have worn glasses randomly in an opening. It was before the timeskip but Zoro had a pair on too. Nami would be adorable with glasses more often.
Zoro with the weights in his mouth reminded me of a fic I read once where he was crazed and swordless and bit through someone's jugular like a pitbull…
I can only imagine accidentally biting the inside of his cheek or tongue would be disastrous for him lol.
As for the songs for the OP openings there's really only been 3 I really liked, the rest I try to fast forward through. I would love for a metal or Epic Scores like theme, it'll probably never happen since 90% of OP is light hearted.
The Law scenes lasted too long. If it was them doing something it'd be fine, but it was just Luffy and Namky/Frami staring at him and he back at them.

true true, Nami wore glasses in Skypiea for a while, if I recall correctly. And yeah, even Zoro has been drawn wearing glasses in an opening, so I don't think it's something that needs to be taken too seriously.
On a general note, I really really like this new opening song. I had it pretty much on repeat the whole time cooking dinner last night, so needless to say, it's grown on me. Though I'm very likely to get sick of it if I keep up this pace, so I think I'll stop for a while I think it's got a pretty catchy beat, despite being calmer than We Go, and it fits the crew well. From a visual standpoint, it's a shame they chose the worst looking shots to linger on the longest.
I don't know if there's bets yet, but I'd be willing to bet a box of chocolates that this opening is going to be replaced before Punk Hazard ends.
So there was no date announced for the release of the single?
To be honest; my fav parts of openings are Oda colourspreads in anime version XD such as
andSong was okay. Animation was garbage for an opening except for a few colourspreads.
Good:
!
Crap:
!
And the ridiculous nitpicking continues…
There wasn't enough Law for my liking.

Why would they? What exactly have they done thus far? Why not just include every single person who appeared in the whole arc? All shadowed brokers included. As for Law.. Whatever.
Anyway, I finally got around to watching Z and noticed Robin uses the same little watering pot that she does in this opening. Nice of them to keep that continuity here.

This. Except I'm still watching.
The only aspect I liked were the brief colorspread animations.
Nice
[hide]Plus, she's kinda hot.[/hide]
Her voice is quite good, but I had to have it playing in a different tab. I couldn't watch the video itself, as the outfit was distracting, and kind of silly. Killed the mood for me. Though it was definitely a good cosplay…
didn't watch the video because of the outfit, but stayed for the music, which is what really matters.
Honestly, better than We Go. Well, probably because I had no expectation at all.
We Go tried to hard to be as good as We Are, which it failed to.
As I do with pretty much every opening, I've been listening to this one alot, giving it a chance to sink in, and I like it alot now. Yeah, this opening is pretty much Song > Visuals for me, though the part near the end where Luffy's swelling up with happiness combined with the music does give me happy feels. Can't wait for the full version. (Especially because the current TV size MP3 that I got from the video isn't all that loud volume-wise. I keep getting into the song wanting to turn it up louder but it's max volume is pretty low.)
Nope .
Yeah, kinda gotta agree. We Go was just so over the top and overflowing with energy that I just feel like Hands Up is sort of a step down, even though I do like it. I think had We Go only run from 30-50 episodes or so, people probably would've been more fond of it in hindsight.
I like the opening though the colorspread could have at least one second more they go so fast is hard to realy look at them.
yay Smiley:ninja:
Those Law fangirls are the cringing bane of my existence.

We Go ran for 72 episodes, lol
To all people complaining about supposed spoilers in this opening
I just saw the episode with FOUR anime only friends, None of them thought anything special about the supposed spoilers everyone's complaining about. THey are used to see Don Flamingo in the openings so no suprise there, and the other images were passed by really quickly.
In fact, they commented how non spolerish this opening was.
About the opening itself, I feel it needs more energy, I dunno. Either way don't you guys think this is a "transition" opening? After a memorable one (We go) that lasted so long maybe this will be short, only during Punk Hazard and we will have a new one by the next arc (I hope so)
Not bad but could they find something else for Ussop to do in the opening besides fishing again ?
And I'd have preffered a more ominous still shot of Doflamingo but that's realy a nitpick. Also it reminds me quite alot of Fight Together for some reason. Might be a bit forgettable as well.

That's because Dofla and Kuma have been used in like what, four openings that ran when they had nothing to do with the story at all ?
Just an observation.
For some reason my post got effed up before, by the way.
Oh yeah by the way, the opening (song) is growing on me, my problem is that most of what they show is crap.
The only bits that were good were the very beginning (where they trace Luffy and the rest into the opening) and the bits at the end with the color spreads.
Opening 15 also had that problem. Good song, but very basic stuff they show.
They might just not have had that many scenes at their disposal to animate at that particular moment.
@No:
They might just not have had that many scenes at their disposal to animate at that particular moment.
What do you mean? Don't they just usually create new scenes for the opening? Either, why aren't they as good as the older ones?
btw. forgive me if I'm being newb on the animation part, if i am, then can you explain it to me?.
We Go ran for 72 episodes, lol
Read it again, this time, carefully:

"lol"
We Go ran for 72 episodes, lol
He said "had" We Go ran for 30-50 episodes, it was a hypothetical.
They should just have Hiroshi Kitadani to sing all of the One Piece openings.
Toei is currently doing that with Akira Kushida for the Toriko openings and it's working wonders

haha you noticed that too! I'm a huge robin fan so fist bump for you!
Okay yeah I know, I f*cked up, no need to rub it in. I wasn't trying be rude with the LOL thing by the way.
One thing I just noticed, in the new opening they don't pull up the sails for the coup the burst, this is obviously a mistake, in Opening 15 the sails are pulled up, also during the series they pull them up before the jump, for obvious reasons.
I guess they overlooked this detail.
The song also seems to "quiet" for a One Piece opening. I would've liked if they made the instruments louder or somesin.
