Oh, I know that, Maggie! Actually all my figures are authentic but you got to admit that some figure prices (like Carue and Bellereme) are way waaaay overpriced and if you have an empty space in your display waiting for a super-duper-rare figure you could fill the spot with a bootleg until the real deal appears! :P
I´m willing to pay up to USD200 for Bellemere or Garp Ver.0… but have you checked their prices on eBay? Simply ridiculous... XD -

But I'm not paying the stupid prices they're listed at to get them.
At the prices they're at now, you could get 3-4 pops for the price of one.

bellemere is like mirage, some people are ready to pay that price to get her but some people are totally drunk when they type their price
i spotted a 650 euro bellemere i chocked when i saw the price, people are really abusing to the core, and yet garp vol 0 is still affordable if you see his price compared to bellemere actually!personally even though i think the figure is awesome and i want it i will not go and buy it at such a high price, i rather dream about it and buy other figures with all that money :/

From my recent trip to Japan, I brought back a Sunny Bandai model kit. I haven't started yet because I'm trying to decide whether to go with the stickers or painting it, which would make it look a lot nicer, but I've never painted models before. I can't even read the names of the paints listed in the instructions, so I wouldn't know which exact colors to buy and how much. Has anyone put together and painted one before?

I agree, prices of those older POPs have been so high that it's really hard for new collectors to get the ball rolling. I recently sold some of my older figures to a new collector who wanted to start on OP, but he was gawking at the price not because I overpriced them, but because they were just that expensive everywhere. I was even giving him discounts already haha. Crazy business.
And hm, seems weird to me, but everytime an older character (like Law, smoker, tashigi) appears in the manga for new world arc, the prices of their POPs start to increase due to higher demand. What's with that?

the thing is, if you got a fake as a 'placeholder,' it would, in my opinion, really mar your collection. Why do you want to have all authentic figures with one bootleg sticking out like a sore thumb? And every time you looked at your collection, you'd know about the bootleg, I feel like it would haunt you. Plus the bootlegs are expensive as well! LOL to pay over $100, even over $25 for a bootleg seems insane to me. Better off putting that money towards the real thing.
I suppose looking at the price of those older figures can really shock you, but at least you know you could resell it for the same amount (if we're talking about Bellemere or Carue). Perhaps that can offer some comfort.
Or just resign yourself to the fact that it's a figure that is long, long out of print/production, and be happy that you're around to collect the SA POPs at a decent price.
edit: Also, on a personal note, when there's something I really want, I stalk every place that I think I might be able to get it. I check obsessively every day. I almost always get what I'm after, and at a shockingly lower price than one might expect.

the thing is that this nami looks legit, she don't have loose paint, weird mold lines and have the holes to make her stand on her base .

For those of you who want to buy that limited Chopper, I can honestly recommend Hiromi (sensui's proxy) as your way to go. He's cheaper than webstores like otacute or BIJ and he's a reliable and professional guy. If you want to save money give it a try. It's up to you.

I've seen him for 4980Yen. That's about 1410Yen more than the original price. I think it's still pretty good. I believe using the proxy you need to pay the proxy fee + domestic shipping. Could turn out to be the same. Maybe even less…. hmmm... I am still not sure if I really want him... maybe if I sell my NEO Chopper ^^

Yes. It takes so much time, but once you finished it, it will be awesome. WIth sunny, you just need to be patient.
