someone complained about how molokodin is not putting effort into translation. Umm… actually he stopped translating long ago. One piece is now translated by their usual naruto translator.
Chapter 640: "Straight Above Fishman Island"

I'm playing around when i say your mad brahh. sayyyyy wuttttt?? you don't think im great like JC? that hurt real bad u know brahh?
kthxbai
anyway
Book uses a sword as his primary fighting style which makes him a swordsman(he truly becomes a musician out of battle), the wikia states that he is a swordsman. therefore your argument on that point is invalid.
hyouzou happend to be charging at Robin, seeing at how robin was not fazed by this one bit im pretty sure she was ready to defend herself and did'nt need help. Zoro just jumped in there with the intention to test his skills before the new world and not save her or anything. so whether she was ready to defend herself or not he did save her without the intention to, which makes it an accident. Brook asking nami to see her panties and ikaros was charging at her at the sametime, brook just got infront of her before her and took teh spear to the back without meaning to, or maybe even knowing.u just got pwned! no stop being buthurt already jheez. 25 letters, 9 word of advice: If u dont like it do not read it.
Yo brahh, every1 knoooows thoOoOoOOoose wiki facts itssss kiiinnd of a lame stick to have as a poster duude brahh don't get buthurt now or anything jheeeez
kthxbai -
You're acting like the wiki is law set into stone. :P
are you telling me that it isn't?
It was my understanding that the One Piece Wikia for One Piece fans was like "the bible" for christians, "the kuran" for muslims or "child labor for dummies" for rednecks. . .
Book uses a sword as his primary fighting style
Books use swords now? Darn, it's going to be though the read the legend of the seeker from now on.

See this here? This is an example of a post containing useful notes that people actually appreciate hearing.
then there is mb 1 page or less of actual info. everything u said up till now has been useless. like the rest of us.
mb they should change the forum so that it ONLY includes useful information, which means there is 2-4 ppl who has the ability to post. That way people has nothing to complain, adn even if you wanted to, can't. I think this is the greatest idea ever, cept for the fact taht it negates the whole point of a forum, but ur not looking for a forum; ur looking for information. ur useless opinion just like mine does not matter.

While we're at it, how about we post in legible English. :ninja:

what heck is that ??? in chapter 639 . in mangastream they've translated " your getting tired i knew it "
http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/1779/26d99888d18ab87cf5bcabf.png
but in mangareader " it's not as powerful underwater "
http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/639/9
and who is speaking luffy or fukaboshi .i really don't know that crazy mark made me angry
could that means the two of them are speaking in same time
and that is the F crazy mark

Wow, this is starting to get pretty ugly. Off topic banter and grammar nazis guys? Come on, we're all better than this.

I'd say Aohige's translation is the correct one.

I'd say Aohige's translation is the correct one.
sorry i didn't get it . do you mean that Aohige working with mangastream
-

What?
Aohige doesn't work for Mangastream.
The Mangastream translation is filled with errors, and I haven't read the Mangareader translation yet.Since Aohige is right a majority of the time, I'm just gonna go with his translation.

I don't think Aohige translated that line, but let's not bombard his profile with questions. Assume the right line is "it's not as powerful underwater" unless an established translator comes out and corrects me.

I'll just go ahead and assume that ure really new here. Go click on the page before this one, u see a guy named Aohige_AP? Yep, thats the guy whom we rely on for spoiler translations, or when he's got spare time a full chapter translation (n hes pretty darn good at it)
Theres another guy, Stephen (U might want to check for his translation thread, its right here in the manga section). His translation, up till now, is still undisputed and we use it as reference everytime an argument involving a translation occurs.
-
someone complained about how molokodin is not putting effort into translation. Umm… actually he stopped translating long ago. One piece is now translated by their usual naruto translator.
Yep, I complained about it. Many people did too, so he eventually quit. I and several others now complain about Naruhodo and his sometimes unreliable translations (at first, he wasn't that bad; did he just get lazy with this one?). True, these scans are meant as "by fans, for fans", so there's bound to be some mistakes, but it hurts when so many things in a single chapter are unreliable, and readers become confused.
Are there any other questions with translations that I may be able to help? I'm no Aohige or Stephen, but I try to stay as reliable as I can.
-
I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to all DF users.
I dunno about this.
Because he doesn't turn himself rubber, he IS rubber.
The moment he eat the Gomu Gomu no Mi, his body permanently became rubber.Point taken, lolz thanks for that. []
@Fire Fist:
There's two types of Paramecia, Control/Become and Control/Create. Logia are Create/Control/Become. Control/Become Paramecia are always their respective DF ability, regardless of their state of consciousness (unless they're dead). Control/Create have to be conscious to control their powers.
..don't really understand the "control" thing but I get the picture I guess.;;
So, basically… the devil fruit ability that involves......'controlling objects'? are temporarily gone when the user becomes unconcious eh-
Kinda reminds me of Shiki, when he fell(dramatically), the floating islands fell.
I guess it was OKAY when Shiki was napping or sleeping, but getting unconcious finally freed it, huh.
lol, I guess it kinda.... makes sense?lol
well, thnx for this, its much more clear now.... I think hehe

Assume the right line is "it's not as powerful underwater" unless an established translator comes out and corrects me.
Cnet says:
"Luffy: …Mmm, that's not as strong as I'd like..."
-
"As I figured, it's less powerful (underwater)" is correct. And yes it's coming from Luffy.
Mangastream is wrong.I and several others now complain about Naruhodo and his sometimes unreliable translations (at first, he wasn't that bad; did he just get lazy with this one?).
That's not how I remember it.
Immediately after Naruhodo took over, the mistranslations were flying everywhere, making some people miss molokidan already.
Don't you remember those comments? -

Don't you remember those comments?Hm, now that I think about, I do. Either way, mangastream needs better translators/quality checkers. By the way, have you ever been in a scanlation group? I don't recall anything like that. (Nor am I implying that you join them.)
-
Are there any other questions with translations that I may be able to help? I'm no Aohige or Stephen, but I try to stay as reliable as I can.
cnet is usually reliable, but now his translations usually come 2-3 days after chapter.
-
so the elephant gun Luffy used against the kraken and the snake hit he used against Hody would be much more powerful out of the water?
If he had such level of strenght in the marineford arc… -
But both the Kraken and Hody are weaklings so it doesn't prove much about Luffy's real strenght.
-
@Sonic:

They are weak in comparison to luffy.
-
they are stronger than the 2-years-ago Luffy
-
Damnit if mangastream wasnt that fast i wouldnt read from them!
-
Isn't it because they're fast that they make so many mistakes? Cnet takes a bit more time to preview their work, so they're pretty solid.
-
Damnit if mangastream wasnt that fast i wouldnt read from them!
Well, there goes your, "thank you for your hard work."
You should be more grateful for their works. []
It's not like they are being payed to do that, its a fan thing. It's a wonder they've kept it fast and good for this long too.
they are stronger than the 2-years-ago Luffy
You don't know that for sure, homeboy.
-
You don't know that for sure, homeboy.
Haha yeah, nobody could know that for 100% sure, but it's kinda assumed. It would be pretty disappointing if the "Monster of the Artic" Kraken wasn't strong enough to take pre-TS Luffy. Hody on the other hand seems like he could be about equal with pre-TS Luffy, but that's definitely debatable. I still think we've yet to see him at his peak strength though (more ES + Water = ? )

Translating a weekly manga chapter takes very little time.
Editing and scanlation takes up far more time. -
You don't know that for sure, homeboy.
pretty obvious, luffy couldn't even beat over 500 of the animals on the island he inhabited for the time skip before, my thoughts are that the kraken was probably stronger then most if not all of them, and my guess is that since luffy could beat a pacifista in one hit now a days and hody's "new" body survived various attacks with his COA it's safe to assume he's able to handle attacks that luffy wouldn't have been able to dish out back then, my guess is that there both stronger then luffy was then, idk about hodi before the transformation though

I know I'm incredibly late but I should probably comment on One Piece chapters when they come out. That'd probably be a good idea. The latest chapter I thought was pretty good, we got a good comedy moment from Zeo, Usopp had a cool attack, Brook is going to fight (first time he's ever had a real fight so far), and the cliffhanger gives one a real sense of tension. My biggest problem with it was that Nami and Robin are apparently not going to fight. Bit irritating that. Although I think it's quite possible they'll end up fighting Caribou or assisting in one of the male fights. Either way it was good.

Does no one else have the slightest shred of hope for A and B from Dekken's crew?

Does no one else have the slightest shred of hope for A and B from Dekken's crew?
No…they're pretty much non-characters who would embarrass Nami or Robin with a fight. Frankly, even the Newfishman pirates could embarrass the SHs if the fight don't go just right. Chopper's basically fighting a blander, weaker version of Hodi at this point (though I hope to be proven wrong). Though, there is hope that Nami wrecks more of Hodi's army, and recall that there was a time that Nami couldn't fight off 5 basic fodder pirates.
Also, I am hoping that Robin does something cool this arc in a different way. If she doesn't show off in a fight, at the very least she could drop the bomb of information of what "Joy Boy" might be. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that while we might not get what we want we can still be happen for Nami and Robin this arc. Hey, A and B might save Decken later and have a funny scene, who knows.
-

How is Daruma anything like Hodi?

No, the other guy. The fishman who's specialty is strength in a species of super strong people where his boss is the strongest fishman of his team. Again though, not that I don't want to be proved wrong.

Oh you're right. I don't know why I thought he was fighting Chopper :( :9. I don't think he's much like Hodi either though. He's not wholly unique, he's just a strong fighter guy with a hammer.

It's not your fault. Everybody and their mother here also thought Chopper vs. Daruma was a given.

They haven't been foreshadowed as capable fighters. They have only been used in gags so far.

Seeing how much this chapter's translation was f'd up, I'll be working on proper one later today. Look forward to it!

To be fair, with very few exceptions like Buggy post-ID or Spandam, the leader of any group we see is usually the strongest. Guys like Dosun are like Pearl, the brute force of the team.
