once you've been here for awhile longer, fledgling, you'll realize how on topic we really are.

I'm fairly certain Greek is pronounced pretty much how it's spelled.
-
@Badass:
We already speak 2 languages in America. American and English. Yeah.
We don't speak English.
Try telling someone to put it in the boot and see where that gets you. :ninja:
-
This was my first language:
!
Unfortunately, I forgot everything about it. -
It's always funny seeing SGRaize getting banned.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It's true, this thread really seems to have picked up since he got the boot again.

Greek isn't a language, it's a set of words and symbols we can resort to when we run out of numbers and variables. :ninja:
Φακ γιου <.<
@Cyan:
Isn't Greek that language that sounds nothing like it's spelled.
Not really. 0.o It's an alphabetic language (like English or Russian) which means that every letter of the alphabet, equals to a phoneme of the speaking language. For grammar reasons there are some diphthongs that are read differently but yeah. In general lines, it sounds like it's spelled.
PS: The names of the letters, mean nothing. They are just their names. What they symbolize is phonemes. Just to clear what might be causing the confusion.
@THE:
What does Aledias mean and how does it pronoun?
Doesn't mean anything in my knowledge but I pronounce it as Αλέδιας (Ah-Leh-Dee-Ahs) O:

-
it's all greek to me.
-
I'm not familiar with that equation.
…or that fraternity.
It means "I love you. Please merry me." Write that to the next Greek girl you fall in love with. =)
-
I wonder what merry me means

Ok, I will practice my pronunciation of it… "opimthbtk"
...wait, that's not even real Greek! You can't fool me. It doesn't even have an equals sign.

Oh good, I got this. "Hey baby, wiaghnfbl equals mevplishvk"
And if she speaks Greek she'll be all over me. And even if not she'll have gotten drunk there once and it'll hit her like too much stale beer. Thanks! :happy:
-
I got drunk there once.
-
Isn't that where we found SDT?
-
That's where you found me with a dead girl in a tub and an elderly Albanian man with no genitals.

They let him drink all he wanted for free out of an empty shampoo bottle.

I'm not gonna lie, I have the highest amount of respect for the regular posters here that have English as a second or third language. I've pretty much forgotten all the Spanish I learned in high school and I barely remember any Japanese from my exchange student days.
-
As a New York adolescent, I simply need to stand in front of my apartment building to learn Spanish.
-
You think because I live in an extremely Dutch town that I'd learn any Dutch.
I don't even know enough Dutch to order a sandwich.

Hola chico!
Que tal en hermoso dia?
Vamos a la playa! -
In my personal experience screaming out the word "SANDWICH" in front of people doesn't help me make friends.
It does make for a good conversation starter later though.
