I agree actually, and I'm the opposite with manga and such actually. I read a crapload of manga and no one I know has any kind of negative opinion of it, so I don't really care that they all aren't hoping onboard and reading it too. I mean, I have lots of friends and such that read it too, but my family is cool whether or not they read what I read and wouldn't be any more or less cool for reading manga. And it's kind of better that my family doesn't imo.
We need more Zoom and haterade in this thread.

My biggest regret is wasting so much money on 27 volumes of Naruto. Luckily I have a good friend who can get rid of it for me. I would then spend the money on a high-class pinstripe fedora or manga. :P
I kind of feel like buying the anime would be a waste unless it was REALLY good, but even then, I rarely have enough time to watch films or shows these days. ffff I'm still a month behind on the Colbert Report episodes
It sucks when people around me have heard of anime they are either:
A. Infuriatingly ignorant
B. Hardcore Wapanese
C. Thinks what I like is stupid/weird
D. Won't shut up about how much money I waste on Inuyasha (even though I stopped liking that series eons ago) and that I am a fan of imperialism because I like something Japanese.
