I aint done many of the new ones. Especially the Rhythm Paradise one. I have like….4 pieces to that one

Problem with the new puzzles is that you need to MEET people via SpotPass to get those pink pieces and I live in a small town where apparently no one besides me owns a 3DS so …
-
^ I used to have no problem with getting puzzle pieces. But since Game and Gamestation closed down I very rarely pick them up anymore.
-
i find the pink pieces really difficult to get but i know of at least 2 people in my college who i apparently walk past on a rgular basis with a 3ds. But were just gonna run out of pieces to swap soon
-
My summer is just about to start so it's going to be awhile before I am able to regularly Streetpass others. I tend to get at least one Streetpass every other day at my college and usually get a lot of pieces for Puzzle Swap (even though no one seems to have the last pink piece I need for Mario Kart 7).

Just a reminder to euroap that if you bought Xenoblade, Last Story & Pandora's Tower, if you register them you can get some commemorative coins:
Worth it even if you don't want them as no doubt they'll be worth a bob or two in a few years.

Some pretty juicy news.
Remember Nintendo announced how there's going to be a 3D (Super Mario 3D Land) and a 2D Mario game? Well, we just received the title yesterday and it's going to be a sequel to NSMB for the 3DS called NSMB2. It's coming out in America and Europe in the month of August. Some screenshots here: http://nintendo3dsblog.com/new-super-mario-bros-2-is-coming-to-the-3ds-this-august
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kirby, we're getting about the same thing we got with Mario's. A disc with various Kirby games and maybe other stuff too. http://mynintendonews.com/2012/04/21/kirby-20th-anniversary-disc-coming-to-wii/
There's going to be a update for the 3DS coming to Europe and America April 25th. The update creates "folders" you can use to organize your home menu however you want to. It also allows games to be patched and one of the first games to be patched is Mario Kart 7 with Maku Wuhu being noted that it will be patched and along with other exploits. The patch for MK7 is coming in May.

Ultimate random question. Is there a microphone built into the 3DS? I know it was very very rarely used on the DS but can't seem to see if it's there for the new one.
-
I guess … you can make videos with the camera and I think the videos are with sound.
Wasn't a game developer saying that they are planning on using the 3DS micorphone to allow voice chat online? Or am I imaging things ... ? (don't remember which game though) -

Bottom right of the device, either next to the power charging light or under the start button.
-
under the start button i believe
-
Yep, it's right there. Not even labeled or anything, just a small hole on the edge of the bottom screen's raised ridge, right below the Start button.
EDIT: Hey, lookit that, the 3DS firmware update has gone live early! Got my 4 folders ("System Apps," "DSiWare," "Ambassador," and "Demos") already created and filled. Oh, and apparently the eShop got itself a minor update as well. Now there's a scrolling line of dedicated categories in the bottom half of the main screen.
-
Yeah finally folders, my Home Menu was a mess :D
Played the demo for Rythm Thief, it was pretty funny. Really considering to buy it

It's not much but I am glad that Sakurai at least has the right idea: not just more stages and a bigger roster

I was going to make some quip about UE4 coming out soon but then I remembered that this demo
showcases what the engine is capable of now. I still don't think it's going to get anywhere near this but it's not as outdated as I figured. -
SO a few tidbits from Nintendo's investor meeting
No Wii U pricing at E3: my take on this is that they're waiting to gauge a response before setting it in stone
New SUper Mario Bros 2 will be available in both retail and downloadable form–- Update From New Post Merge ---
More info: appearantly they still want the digital full games to be sold at retail and its more of a way to make inventory space less of an issue
-
They never tell us what we want to know
-
Also from the Financial Results Briefing (which to me was much more interesting) there's this
| Want to find WiiSports equivalent for WiiU, cannot explain for competitive reasons, will not remodel existing |
Focus on social gaming
| _You will strongly feel the changes in the thoughts of third-party software developers, overseas developers in particular, for the better.
| Have learnt lesson of 3ds launch, as a result WiiU will have very rich line-up from the beginning, a few rich titles |_ |

-
eh, lack of a launch date and price doesn't bother me, since I'll be buying it whenever it comes out for however much it is, anyway. I'm just not super excited about it yet, but the games I see at E3 will certainly change that.
-
@Aaronrules380: Good call on Nintendo's part for doing both retail & digital for their games; Plus, it's great Wii U will have that feature from day one of its release.
http://wii.ign.com/articles/122/1223882p1.htmlNo launch date or price is alright by me; Nintendo will showcase their best at E3 with what the Wii U can really do, that includes all the games they're gonna show.
-
They didn't do that with their previous consoles as well did they?
And it is a smart move when you think about it:
When you scare people away by the price on E3 the WiiU will not have a good launch but when you look at the reaction you can see if people are willing to pay a little bit more or less than Nintendo's thoughts of the price. In the end I'll end up with the WiiU anyways. There's no way I can resist a new Metroid, Zelda and other 1st party titles. Damn, probably Smash Bros WiiU would be enough
-

I believe they did the same thing at E3 2006; After showcasing what the Wii has to offer, a few months later they announced the release date & price for all regions.
-
so theres a leaked trailer for a wii u game called rayman: legends. It seems to be a sequel to rayman: origins and showcases a few things the wii u can do as well as it's graphics

I don't understand the whole figure thing. There's no way it'll work with just normal figures.

Nintendo reports annual loss of $458 million.

They say the same crap every 2 years, if they had done it the first time that it was propossed there wouldn't be a gamecube, and portatil gaming still would be on the road "a gameboy but STRONGER!"
-
I don't understand the whole figure thing. There's no way it'll work with just normal figures.
-
ah, I thought it was something like that. The screen isn't actually "reading" anything, it's that the figure has something built into it that is connecting wirelessly with the controller when you get them close, and the easiest way to ensure they get close enough is to just put it on the damn screen. Kinda like the infrared connection on Pokemon Black/White; you don't have to align them perfectly and bumb nubs like it suggests in the pictures, but that's the most reliable way to make sure you get the connection.
however, I can only imagine how many confused 12 year olds are gonna hear about this, and start trying to put any old thing on the screen, hoping it will create a level for them because that's how technology works, right?

I honestly think you're underestimating 12 year olds. 7 or 8 year olds though…

I'm thinking whoever it is that won't shut up on youtube comments. the kind of people who get angry because "why r people makin a big deal out of the 3ds… we've have games in 3d since the playstation 1 days..." or the ones who see a smash bros. roster prediction, and go "WOW!!! you must work for nintendo to know all this stuff xD!!! hey can you ask them to put goku in the next one b/c I'm the biggest dragonball z nerd everrr lol XD"
whatever age that is. if they ever accidentally saw this rayman trailer, after whining because it didn't have those funny rabbids in it, they would get excited about being able to put literally anything on the tablet and have it go into the game.
-
to be fair they are quite a bit down in money to be having things cost less. I imagine it will still be cheaper to download as your not paying for the box but that's the only real difference
-
would rather it be on par than extortion like Sony.
I'm still fairly sure they're trying for £49.99 for Infamous 2
-
There are plenty of psn exclusives cheaper than in the shops. Infamous 1 is really cheap. And with Nintendo rarely lowering the prices of their first party francises that blows.
-
I wouldn't know, I aint really looked on PSN much for a while. I picked up Infamous for £7.99 a few years back so if it's less than that then its a great bargain.
I need to play that game again…I got it, kinda got a bit repetitive and then I was insanely ill and it kinda put me off playing the game again.
-
Bought a 3DS yesterday. It's my first handheld and first Nintendo console since I bought a Gameboy Colour over, what, 10 years ago? Liking it so far, Super Mario 3D land came with it so I'm just making my way through that the now. I'll probably buy Kid Icarus or something soon.
Might as well put my friend code in my sig then.

This is awesome

Wii U won't be out by October
Pachter Says Wii U Late October Launch “Makes Sense”
Famed industry analyst Michael Pachter firmly believes that Nintendo will launch the Wii U in October. Pachter made the comments during the latest episode of Pach Attack, during which he was asked why Nintendo hasn’t revealed the Wii U technical specifications.
“There’s a couple of reasons, I think. For one, they’re probably not certain exactly what their final specs are going to be. When I say that, they have the CPU and GPU down absolutely as developers are making games for it.
“I think they’re just waiting to see what the commodity prices are like, and what the assembly is going to cost them. They kind of have to go final at least three to four months before the thing launches, so I think you’ll hear specs around E3 and I think you should look for around a late October launch. That makes sense.”“The answer is nobody has any clue, including Ubisoft,” Pachter later expanded, responding to whether the console would release prior to Assassin’s Creed III.”
“The game will come out on October 30th, and it’ll come out on Wii U if it’s out by then. If there’s not a Wii U by then, guess what, it’ll be held until it launches.
“I think it’s likely that Nintendo is shooting for around that date on Wii U. Historically, we haven’t really gotten console launches in the US and Europe past about November 15th, so October 30th sounds totally reasonable to me. But, I don’t think anyone has any clue. Nintendo does what Nintendo decides to do.”Wii U Zapper:
http://mynintendonew…f-wii-u-zapper/I like the idea of using the controller as a scope, but the thing looks wobbly. I can't imagine the controller is very safe there. Plus, I wasn't a big fan of the Wii Zapper design. It makes more sense here, though.
