Has there been any mention of what the Amiibos are supposed to do in any game other than Smash?
It will be revealed that in any game other than smash, they will train your figure player in smash bros

From that they don't all look bad, but some really do. I like Link's bent sword. I'd pay 20 bucks for an amiibo that's actually displayable… but they are going really cheap with them.
They also confirmed that some have limited life spans. My money is any series without a new game like earthbound or duck hunt will only have amiibos limitedly
If they are going to be ugly, i'd rather have the stand and keep the figurine away.

So, I just preordered the Mario and Link Amiibo figures. Mario, because he's my Smash Bros. Main, Link because Zelda is my favorite game series ever and I know I can use it for both Smash and Hyrule Warriors.
Worst case scenario, I know I can just cancel the preorders and move the money I put down on them to my Smash Bros. Preorder, but yeah. Figure I should at least chech these out.
According to the guy at my local Gamestop, Mario and Link are two of the most sought after ones.

From the current series I only still need villager. So that'll be Villager, WFT and Zelda for me. Not too interested in the rest as most are from series that will get merchandise for forever, or they're from series in which I want other amiibos. Or I don't like them.
Just gotta wait until next year for the others I want to happen.
Samus is rather tempting though, because of how shiny it looks, but I know people who are getting it and I'm not that much a fan of the series or character.

Well I'm going to have to pass on Smash bros for a while since its the one I want to play less from three but meh atleast they could also push pokemon release date a week forward it would align with everyone else and not come out in the same day as the oter two.

Definitely, since they're more recognized Nintendo characters and their figures will have uses in other games (MK8, Hyrule Warriors, etc.). So for some characters, like Marth, Ness, Wii Fit…..Smash might be the only venue where they get usage (for now, at least?)
It's a shame. I have no idea which ones I want right now, and will probably focus on my Smash mains (for now), but seeing news of certain ones selling out just makes me want to buy them all >_>
Just think, though. Even if some are just for Smash, having one kind of figurine out there will make the value skyrocket!
Just watch, they'll have one of the challenges in Wii U Smash require you to use every amiibo at least once, forcing you to buy them all (because you have no friends to trade and swap with).

It will be revealed that Smash Wii U's final challenge is not only using every amiibo at least once but also leveling all of them to level 50.

So i don't know what the cards are about but for AC i could totally see each villager having a figure and then you can add them to your town if you want, or even have an appartment that you rent out rooms to villagers: that way if they move you don't lose them forever but can have them come and go as you please

Can't you register multiple copies of the same game? I think you can, since you can do it with consoles. What you can't do is register a code twice. I'd say give it a try.

Nope. Tried with my two copies of smash 3ds, one for my bro, and it doesn't fly
Depends on how you do it actually. Like my copy of Smash bros is digital, while my brother's was physical, and since there's options for each, that meant I was able to register the same game for two different people.
Also, what happens if you have different users under the family account? Maybe that allows you to register multiple copies of the same game.

I wouldn't count on it. Maybe digital but it seems like the system's built so that the same type of entry and survey can't be done twice
I had no idea that digital games could be registered..
After following the steps on Club Nintendo, I'm guessing that you can't register games after the fact. :sad:

My mom and I linked our accounts and when we each buy a game we have no problems registering both

We're in Canada so we get coins not stars but yes, if we both bought a copy of mario kart 8 and registered one on each account, the point total is combined
